Book Review: The 5 Love Languages By Gary Chapman
This is a great book! 10 million copies sold, and it has helped revive thousands of dead relationships!
I had 3 key takeaways from this book:
1. There are 5 ways in which we all give and receive love. These are called our love languages. Each person has 1 primary love language. The 5 love languages are:
Acts of Service
Physical Touch
Words of Affirmation
Quality Time
Gifts
2. You and your wife or husband rarely share the same primary love language. This can lead to what Chapman calls an empty emotional love tanks and a dead relationship.
3. All is not lost! You can learn and choose to speak your wife or husband’s primary love language to him or her, and that will fill his or her emotional love tank, and make your relationship come alive with love again.

Book Review Farther Than Any Man: The Rise And Fall Of Captain James Cook
Martin Dugard’s book Farther Than Any Man: The Rise And Fall Of Captain James Cook is a brilliant book about a great man! I got 3 powerful lessons from it:
1. The power of love and loyalty. Cool was loyal to his wife and faithful despite being away from her for years at a time. It’s the sign of an honorable man.
2. The power of ambition. Cook was a man of deep ambition and used that to lift himself from obscurity to greatness.
3. Beware buying your own press clippings. Cook ended up buying his own press clippings and that led to him engaging in Hubris that led to his death! Stay humble!

Book Review: W1NNING: The Unforgiving Race To Greatness By Tim Grover & Shari Wenk
W1NNING is a fantastic book! It is written by Tom Grover, who was Michael Jordan’s personal coach for 15 years and Kobe Bryant’s coach for 8. He helped those men win a total of 8 NBA Championships. He gets winning and what it takes to win better than most.
I got 3 big things from this book:
1. W1NNING is politically incorrect. It’s hard, tough, nasty, unforgiving and relentless. If you want to win, you have to be that way too.
2. W1NNING takes all of you. If you want to win, you have to give it everything you have. Anything less means that you won’t win.
3. W1NNING is not a marathon. It’s spring that never ends. People are always telling you “it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Slow down. Pace yourself.” Bullshit! Winning is a full on sprint that never ends. If you want to win, you have to speed up when other people are slowing down.

SMP Clips: Igor Perett - Purpose
Igor Perett is a man who’s built a strong foundation with purpose and he’s been building on it ever since. At the moment, he focusses on being a good role model for his sons and his purpose is evolving as he studies psychology and psychotherapy so he can help his community.
Expert action steps:
If you don’t have a solidified purpose, take a moment to consider what’s important to you right. Start writing it own in only a few sentences. Memorize it. Make it a priority so you can live a full life.
Once you’ve solidified your purpose, going forward, only do the things that serve that purpose. Ask yourself, “does this serve my purpose?”. If not, move on to the next thing the does.

Sovereign Reviews -- The Leatherman Free P4
This review is of one of my favourite tools, made by a legendary American company, the Leatherman Free P4. In my opinion, every man, should own a Leatherman, and certainly every Sovereign Man should own one
