"Layla" by Eric Clapton Lyrics (Acoustic "Unplugged")
What will you do when you get lonely?
No one waiting by your side
You've been runnin' and hiding much too long
You know it's just your foolish pride
Layla
Got me on my knees, Layla
I'm beggin' darling please, Layla
Darling won't you ease my worried mind?
I tried to give you consolation
Your old man won't let you down
Like a fool, I fell in love with you
You turned my whole world upside down
Layla
You've got me on my knees, Layla
I'm beggin' darling please, Layla
Darling won't you ease my worried mind?
Make the best of the situation
Before I finally go insane
Please don't say we'll never find a way
Tell me all my love's in vain
Layla
You've got me on my knees, Layla
I'm beggin' darling please, Layla
Darling won't you ease my worried mind?
Layla
You've got me on my knees, Layla
I'm beggin' darling please, Layla
Darling won't you ease my worried mind?
Layla
You've got me on my knees, Layla
I'm beggin' darling please, Layla
Darling won't you ease my worried mind?
Layla
You've got me on my knees, Layla
I'm beggin' darling please, Layla
Darling won't you ease my worried mind?

Eric Clapton "Layla" Songfacts
"Layla" is a song written by Eric Clapton and Jim Gordon and originally recorded by Derek and the Dominos from the 1970 studio album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.
"Layla" was inspired by a love story that originated in 7th-century Arabia and later formed the basis of The Story of Layla and Majnun by the 12th-century Persian poet Nizami Ganjavi, a copy of which Ian Dallas had given to Clapton. The book moved Clapton profoundly, because it was the tale of a young man who fell hopelessly in love with a beautiful young girl, went crazy and so could not marry her. "Layla" was further inspired by Clapton's love for Pattie Boyd, the wife of his friend and fellow musician George Harrison of the Beatles. Clapton and Boyd eventually married.
"Layla" has since experienced great critical and popular acclaim. Two versions of "Layla" have achieved chart success, the first 'electric' version of "Layla" by Derek and the Dominoes in 1972 and the second acoustic 'performance by Eric Clapton 20 years later on MYV 'Unplugged'.
Clapton originally wrote "Layla" as a ballad, with lyrics describing his love for Boyd, but the song became a "rocker" when, according to Clapton, Allman composed the song's signature riff.
Eric Clapton "Unplugged"
Unplugged is a 1992 album by Eric Clapton, recorded at Bray Studios, England in front of an audience for the MTV Unplugged television series. It includes a version "Tears in Heaven" and an acoustic version of "Layla".

Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here Guitar Lesson
Though Pink Floyd is primarily known for their progressive or psychedelic sound, ‘Wish You Were Here’ is essentially Country and Blues song. The original recording features several guitars, including acoustics, electric slide, and a dobro.
The following 'Wish You Were Here' guitar lesson will focus on the essential rhythm strum and lead guitar solos for a performance by one or two guitarists. Along with guitar tabs and chord diagrams, we'll cover it all with a step by step approach.
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here Guitar Chords
The two-chord ‘Em7-G' progression is the primary rhythm guitar part that is repeated throughout the Intro and guitar solo sections. The verse and chorus chords are 'C', 'D', 'Am', & 'G'.
How to Strum Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
The key to how to strum the Wish You Were Here rhythm is to keep the fretting hand steady and in position by keeping the third and fourth fingers anchored on the top two strings along the third fret.
Played on a twelve-string acoustic, the Intro-Rhythm progression consists of five total sections. The entire progression is played twice to begin the song, then again during the Middle Solo and once more for the Final Solo/Coda.
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here Guitar Solo Lesson
On the original recording of Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, the rhythm and solo guitar parts are played with a 'call and response' approach. The first step with timing is to focus on the call and response approach used in each section. For each section, the lead guitarist waits until the rhythm guitarist completes the initial ‘call’ riff before starting each ‘response’ riff. In the first section for example, the rhythm guitar ‘call’ will be the first five single notes played, while the solo riff ‘response’ starts on the last note of the ‘call’. All "Wish You Were Here" guitar solos and riffs are based from the ‘G’ Major scale.

Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here Songfacts
"Wish You Were Here" is a song by English rock band Pink Floyd. "Wish You Were Here" was released as the title track of Pink Floyd's 1975 album of the same name. David Gilmour and Roger Waters collaborated to write the music to "Wish You Were Here", and Gilmour sang the lead vocal.
In the original album version of "Wish You Were Here", the song segues from "Have a Cigar" as if a radio had been tuned away from one station through several others and finally to a new station where "Wish You Were Here" is beginning. The radio was recorded from David Gilmour's car radio. David Gilmour performed the Intro to "Wish You Were Here" on a twelve-string guitar, processed to sound like it was playing through an AM radio.
The intro riff to Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" is repeated several times before David Gilmour plays further solos with scat singing accompaniment.
"Wish You Were Here" is often considered to be a direct tribute to Syd Barrett. However, on the documentary The Story of Wish You Were Here, Gilmour and Waters separately describe the original concept that differs from this interpretation. Waters, who mainly wrote the lyrics complementing Gilmour's initial riff idea and subsequent joint composition, describes the lyrics as being directed at himself, as his lyrics often are.
Roger Waters has noted that the collaboration between himself and David Gilmour on the song was "really good". David Gilmour has playfully called "Wish You Were Here" "a very simple country song" and stated that "because of its resonance and the emotional weight it carries, it is one of our [Pink Floyd's] best songs."

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd Lyrics
So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from hell?
Blue skies from pain?
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war
For a leading role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here

America Ventura Highway Guitar Lesson
Several guitars are used on the original recording of ‘Ventura Highway’, including six and twelve-string acoustics. The following 'Ventura Highway' guitar lesson will focus on the essential rhythm strum and lead guitar riffs for a performance by one, two, or even three guitarists. Along with guitar tabs and chord diagrams, we'll cover it all with a step by step approach.
America Ventura Highway Guitar Chords
The two-chord ‘G6/D-Dmaj7' progression is the primary rhythm guitar part that is repeated throughout the Intro, Verse, and Chorus sections. Guitarist Dewey Bunnell uses the thumb to mute the bottom string for both chord shapes.
How to Strum Ventura Highway by America
The key to the Ventura Highway rhythm strum is to set a percussive ‘choppy’ feel with the right strumming hand. The muting effect is notated with 'x's', and can be obtained by slightly raising the fretting hand off the fretboard. Though there are many variations with strumming, start to focus on timing with a bass note/chord rhythm of: ‘bass-chop x-x-x chop-chop’). On the original recording, the very last ‘chop’ is occasionally muted. Keep time by emphasizing the bass note for each chord.
America Ventura Highway Guitar Riffs Lesson
On the original recording of Ventura Highway by America, two guitars play a repeated riff with slight variations throughout the Intro and Verse sections. The more-dominant sounding guitar riff can be played on either a twelve or six-string acoustic. Just prior to the Chorus, a doublestop riff works well for performances with just one lead guitarist. Aside from the opening riff to Ventura Highway, the entire sequence of guitar riffs is repeated during the second half of the song. All Ventura Highway guitar riffs are based from the ‘D’ Major scale.
America Ventura Highway Songfacts
America member Dewey Bunnell wrote Ventura Highway. In an interview Bunnell explained: "It was 1963 when I was in seventh grade, we got a flat tire and we're standing on the side of the road and I was staring at this highway sign. It said 'Ventura' on it and it just stuck with me. It was a sunny day and the ocean there, all of it."
Bunnell added: "I remember vividly having this mental picture of the stretch of the coastlines traveling with my family when I was younger. Ventura Highway itself, there is no such beast, what I was really trying to depict was the Pacific Coast Highway, Highway 1, which goes up to the town of Ventura."
Songwriting credits on America's songs were typically assigned to whoever came up with the idea, and that person would be the one who sings on the track. The entire band often made some contributions to the compositions, and while Dewey Bunnell gets solo songwriting credit on this song, he did get some help. The band's other primary songwriter, Gerry Beckley, told us: "the guitar lick on 'Ventura Highway' is something that Dan [Peek] and I put together that really wasn't a part of the song. The song is of course, super strong on its own.
Someone to Call My Lover
The opening guitar riff and musical hook to Ventura Highway by America is sampled throughout Janet Jackson's 2001 song "Someone to Call My Lover" by the production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis who were influenced by America and "Ventura Highway" listening radio growing up in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Paluzzi Guitar
The objective of the Paluzzi Guitar video series is to help establish a foundation of guitar fundamentals by applying various playing techniques (rhythm, fingerstyle, and soloing) to various styles of music. The more playing styles and techniques a guitarist can learn, the more diverse and self-sufficient a guitarist will become. A self-sufficient guitarist can then teach themselves, communicate with other musicians, and even write their own music once a solid foundation of fundamentals is established.

Ventura Highway by America Lyrics
Chewin' on a piece of grass, walkin' down the road
Tell me, how long you gonna stay here, Joe?
Some people say this town don't look good in snow
You don't care, I know
Ventura Highway in the sunshine
Where the days are longer
The nights are stronger than moonshine
You're gonna go, I know
'Cause the free wind is blowin' through your hair
And the days surround your daylight there
Seasons crying no despair
Alligator lizards in the air, in the air
Wishin' on a falling star, waitin' for the early train
Sorry boy, but I've been hit by a purple rain
Aw, c'mon Joe, you can always change your name
Thanks a lot son, just the same
Ventura Highway in the sunshine
Where the days are longer
The nights are stronger than moonshine
You're gonna go, I know
'Cause the free wind is blowin' through your hair
And the days surround your daylight there
Seasons crying no despair
Alligator lizards in the air, in the air

Heart of Gold by Neil Young Lyrics
I want to live
I want to give
I've been a miner
For a heart of gold
It's these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keep me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
I've been to Hollywood
I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean
For a heart of gold
I've been in my mind
It's such a fine line
That keeps me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keeps me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keep me searching
For a heart of gold
You keep me searching
And I'm growing old
Keep me searching
For a heart of gold
I've been a miner
For a heart of gold

Neil Young Heart of Gold Songfacts
Heart of Gold by Neil Young was recorded in just two takes. The musicians were not familiar with Young or the song, but knew how to play. This spontaneity created just the right feel for the song.
Neil Young wrote Heart of Gold in 1971 after he suffered a back injury that made it difficult for him to play the electric guitar, so on the Harvest album tracks he played acoustic.
Heart of Gold was recorded at the first sessions for the Harvest album, which took place on Saturday, February 6, 1971 and were set up the night before.
Neil Young was in Nashville to record a performance for The Johnny Cash Show along with Tony Joe White, James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt. Elliot Mazer, a producer who owned nearby Quadrafonic Studios, set up a dinner party inviting the show's guests. Mazer was friends with Young's manager Elliot Roberts, who introduced the two at the gathering. Young and Mazer quickly hit it off when Neil learned that Elliot has produced a band called Area Code 615. Young asked if he could set up a session the next day, and Mazer complied.
Mazur was able to get one member of Area Code 615: Drummer Kenny Buttrey. The other musicians he found were guitarist Teddy Irwin, bass player Tim Drummond, and pedal steel player Ben Keith. Keith, who had never heard of Neil Young, recalls showing up late and sitting down to play right away. He says they recorded five songs before they stopped for introductions. In an interview, Neil Young said "Heart of Gold" would not have been a hit without drummer Kenny Buttrey.

Caroline by Concrete Blonde Lyrics
Well, I hear you're driving someone else's car now
She said you came and took your stuff away
All the poetry and the trunk you kept your life in
I knew that it would come to that someday
Like a sad hallucination
When I opened up my eyes
The train had passed the station
And you were trapped inside
Yet I never wonder where you went
I only wonder why, I wonder why
Oh Caroline
Oh Caroline
Oh, oh Caroline
Whoa, whoa, whoa Caroline
Well I hear you're using someone else's number
She said she saw you in the store today
It doesn't matter whose address you're listed under
I only know they'll never make you stay
Like a memory in motion
You were only passing through
That is all you've ever known of life, that's all you'll ever do
There's a dream I have where I sail away
Looking back I wave at you, and I wave goodbye
Oh Caroline
Oh Caroline
Oh Caroline
Oh (Caroline)
In another life I see you as an angel flying high
And the hands of time will free you
You will cast your chains aside
And the dawn will come and kiss away
Every tear that's ever fallen from your eyes
Behind those eyes I wonder
Oh Caroline oh oh oh
(Caroline, Caroline)
Oh Caroline
Sometimes I wonder (Caroline)
Oh Caroline
Sometimes I, sometimes I wonder (Caroline)
(Caroline) oh Caroline

Wind Beneath My Wings Song Facts
'Wind Beneath My Wings' was written in 1982 by Jeff Silbar and Larry Henley. The pair recorded a demo of the song, and gave it to musician Bob Montgomery, who recorded his own demo version of the song, changing it from the mid-tempo original he was given, to a ballad.
Bette Midler recorded the most famous version of 'Wind Beneath My Wings' in 1988, and it became one of her signature songs.
Wind Beneath My Wings was initially conceived as a love song from a lover to another, but the lyrics ended up being something more universal, and could apply to various types of relationships, such as friends or family, helping the song's lasting popularity.
Wind Beneath My Wings Lyrics
It must have been cold there in my shadow
To never have sunlight on your face
You were content to let me shine, that's your way
You always walked a step behind
So I was the one with all the glory
While you were the one with all the strength
A beautiful face without a name for so long
A beautiful smile to hide the pain
Did you ever know that you're my hero
And everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle
For you are the wind beneath my wings
It might have appeared to go unnoticed
But I've got it all here in my heart
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it
I would be nothing without you
Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You're everything I wish I could be
I could fly higher than an eagle
For you are the wind beneath my wings
Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle
For you are the wind beneath my wings
'Cause you are the wind beneath my wings

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o’ lang syne!
For auld lang syne, my Dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
We two have run about the hills,
And pulled the daisies fine;
But we’ve wander’d many a weary foot,
Since auld lang syne.
We two have paddled in the brook,
From mornin’ sun till dinnertime:
But seas between us broad have roar’d,
Since auld lang syne.
And there’s a hand, my trusty friend,
And give us a hand o’ thine;
And we’ll take a right goodwill draft,
For auld lang syne.
And surely ye’ll buy your pint‐cup,
And surely I’ll buy mine;
And we’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne
Auld Lang Syne Songfacts
"Auld Lang Syne" is a popular song, particularly in the English-speaking world. Traditionally, Auld Lang Syne it is sung to bid farewell to the old year at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. Auld Lang Syne is also often heard at funerals, graduations, and as a farewell or ending to other occasions; for instance many branches of the Scouting movement use Auld Lang Syne to close jamborees and other functions.
Auld Lang Syne is a Scots-language poem written by Robert Burns in 1788, but based on an older Scottish folk song. In 1799, Auld Lang Syne was set to a traditional tune, which has since become standard.
The Auld Lang Syne Scots lyrics title may be translated into standard English as "old long since" or, less literally, "long long ago", "days gone by", or "old times". Consequently, "For auld lang syne", as it appears in the first line of the chorus, might be loosely translated as "for the sake of old times".
The phrase "Auld Lang Syne" is also used in similar poems by Robert Ayton (1570–1638), Allan Ramsay (1686–1757), and James Watson (1711), as well as older folk songs predating Burns.

Winter Wonderland Lyrics
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
We're happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland
Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
To sing a love song
While we stroll along
Walking in a winter wonderland
In the meadow, we can build a snowman
We'll pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say, are you married?
We'll say, no man
But you can do the job when you're in town
Later on, we'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid
The plans that we've made
Walking in a winter wonderland
In the meadow, we can build a snowman
We'll pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say, are you ready?
We'll say, no man
But you can do the job when you're in town
Later on, we'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid
The plans that we've made
Walking in a winter wonderland
Walking in a winter wonderland

Winter Wonderland Songfacts
"Winter Wonderland" is a song written in 1934 by Felix Bernard and lyricist Richard Bernhard Smith. Due to its seasonal theme, "Winter Wonderland" is often regarded as a Christmas song in the Northern Hemisphere. Since its original recording by Richard Himber, "Winter Wonderland" has been covered by over 200 different artists.
The Winter Wonderland lyrics were about a couple's romance during the winter season. A later version of "Winter Wonderland" (which was printed in 1947) included a new children's lyric that transformed "Winter Wonderland" from a romantic winter interlude to a seasonal song about playing in the snow. The snowman mentioned in the song's bridge was changed from a minister to a circus clown, and the promises the couple made in the final verse were replaced with lyrics about frolicking. Singers like Johnny Mathis connected both versions of the song, giving "Winter Wonderland" an additional verse and an additional chorus.
"Winter Wonderland" has been recorded many different times by such artists as: Guy Lombardo & The Andrews Sisters, Bob Dylan, George Strait, Tony Bennett, Karen Carpenter, Perry Como, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Eurythmics, Elvis Presley, Goldfrapp, Cyndi Lauper, Darlene Love, Johnny Mathis, Ozzy Osbourne, Dolly Parton, Frank Sinatra, James Taylor, Dean Martin, Harry Connick, Jr., Stryper, Radiohead, Jason Mraz, The Cocteau Twins, Selena Gomez & The Scene, Vanessa Hudgens, Jesse McCartney, Enrico Ruggeri, Andy Griffith and Dennis Day, and Pentatonix & Tori Kelly (mashed up with "Don't Worry Be Happy").

There really isn’t any one particular playing style or technique required in order to classify someone as a guitarist. For example, Andres Segovia, the Beatles, and Carlos Santana are all considered legendary performing guitarists, but each has his own particular style or technique (fingerstyle, strumming, and soloing) for playing. Every guitarist will have their own personal preferences when it comes to what style of music they would initially like to learn. Some may have a more-specific goal (singer/ songwriter, soloist, etc.), while others may prefer a more general or overall approach to learning various playing styles and techniques. The Creative Guitarist series of books and videos are designed with a ‘pick and choose’ topic format (songwriting, soloing, etc.) so that once the Guitar Basics are completed, the guitarist can decide to focus on whatever topic they wish to study.

"Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" Lyrics
Rockin' around the Christmas tree
At the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Every couple tries to stop
Rockin' around the Christmas tree
Let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie
And we'll do some caroling
You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear
Voices singing, let's be jolly
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Rockin' around the Christmas tree
Have a happy holiday
Everyone dancin' merrily
In the new old-fashioned way
You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear
Voices singing, let's be jolly
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Rockin' around the Christmas tree
Have a happy holiday
Everyone dancin' merrily
In the new old-fashioned way

Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace

Silent Night Fingerstyle Classical Guitar Lesson
For this Silent Night classical guitar lesson, apply fingerstyle technique to fingerpick the arpeggios and use the thumb to strum chords. With basic fingerpicking technique, assign the first, second, and third fingers to pluck the third, second, and first strings respectfully.
For this Christmas Holiday classical guitar lesson, Silent Night is played at a slow tempo, so the primary focus should be on the clarity of all the notes being played rather than the speed.
When strumming the chords of Silent Night, let the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th strings of the 'Dsus2' chord ring or sustain while the first string notes that follow are being played. Throughout this Silent Night guitar lesson, try to have all strummed chords sustain while the following individual notes are played. When shifting up from ‘D3' to ‘A7sus4', keep the 3rd finger ‘anchored’ along the 3rd string when sliding up to the 12th fret.
Line 2 of this Silent Night guitar lesson corresponds to the ‘Round yon virgin...’ lyrics. The ‘G/D’ chord shape in Silent Night lesson is fretted the same as an open ‘D’ chord.
In Line 3 of this Silent Night guitar lesson, Line 3 begins with and corresponds to the ‘Sleep in heavenly peace...’ lyrics. For the ‘A7-D7' chord change in Section 1, simply move or slide the 3rd & 4th fingers together up 3 frets. In Section 2, use very slight vibrato (focus more on sustain) for the note played on the 14th fret. In Section 3, simply shift the same chord shape down the from the 10th fret position to the 5th fret position. Try to have the bass note of the ‘D5' ring or sustain while the remaining arpeggiated notes are fingerpicked.
Additional Notes: This Silent Night guitar lesson is in the Key of ‘D’ Major (‘D’, ‘G’, & ‘A’). All of the ‘sus2', ‘7th’, ‘sus4', and ‘slash’ (/) chords of 'Silent Night' are ‘D’, ‘G’, & ‘A’ triads with slight alterations, making this holiday guitar song essentially based on just three chords.

'O Holy Night' Songfacts
"O Holy Night" (also known as "Cantique de Noël") is a well-known Christmas carol. Originally based on a French-language poem by poet Placide Cappeau, written in 1843, with the first line "Minuit, chrétiens! c'est l'heure solennelle" (Midnight, Christians, is the solemn hour) that composer Adolphe Adam set to music in 1847. The English version is by John Sullivan Dwight. The carol reflects on the birth of Jesus as humanity's redemption.
In Roquemaure at the end of 1843, the church organ had recently been renovated. To celebrate the event, the parish priest persuaded poet Placide Cappeau, a native of the town, to write a Christmas poem. Soon afterwards that same year, Adolphe Adam composed the music. The song was premiered in Roquemaure in 1847 by the opera singer Emily Laurey.
Unitarian minister John Sullivan Dwight, editor of Dwight's Journal of Music, wrote the English version in 1855. This version became popular in the United States, especially in the North, where the third verse resonated with abolitionists, including Dwight himself.
The wide vocal range of the song makes it one of the more difficult Christmas songs to execute properly, especially for untrained amateurs. In French-language churches, it is commonly used at the beginning of the Midnight Mass.

Feliz Navidad Songfacts
'Feliz Navidad' is a Christmas song written in 1970 by Puerto Rican singer/songwriter José Feliciano. With its simple, heartfelt lyrics—the traditional Spanish Christmas/New Year greeting "Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad" ("Merry Christmas, a prosperous year and happiness") followed by (in English) "I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart"—it has become a pop Christmas classic.
José Feliciano
Feliciano says he recorded 'Feliz Navidad' while feeling homesick at Christmas, missing his family in New York and his extended family further afield as he sat in a studio in Los Angeles. He remembered celebrating Christmas Eve with his brothers, eating traditional Puerto Rican foods, drinking rum, and going caroling. Jingle Bell Rock Song Facts
Jingle Bell Rock was a popular holiday Christmas guitar song performed by Bobby Helms in 1957. Jingle Bell Rock has received frequent airplay in the United States during every holiday Christmas season since then. Jingle Bell Rock has been performed by many artists, but Bobby Helms' version is the most well-known.
The title of Jingle Bell Rock and some of its lyrics are an extension of the holiday Christmas standard, ‘Jingle Bells’. Jingle Bell Rock makes references to other popular songs from the 1950s, such as Bill Haley’s ‘Rock Around the Clock’, and mentions going to a ‘Jingle hop’. Guitarist Hank Garland played the first notes of the chorus of ‘Jingle Bells’ as the opening riff to Jingle Bell Rock. The backup singers on Jingle Bell Rock were the Anita Kerr Quartet.
Songwriting credits to Jingle Bell Rock were given to Joe Beal and Jim Boothe. Before his death, guitarist Hank Garland filed suit against the record label, claiming that he and Bobby Helms, not Beal and Boothe, wrote the song. Garland played guitar on ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ as well as Brenda Lee’s ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’.
Jingle Bell Rock Lyrics
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowin' and blowin' up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air
What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go glidin' in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and a-mingle in the jinglin' feet
That's the jingle bell rock
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air
What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go glidin' in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and a-mingle in the jinglin' feet
That's the jingle bell
That's the jingle bell
That's the jingle bell rock

There really isn’t any one particular playing style or technique required in order to classify someone as a guitarist. For example, Andres Segovia, the Beatles, and Carlos Santana are all considered legendary performing guitarists, but each has his own particular style or technique (fingerstyle, strumming, and soloing) for playing. Every guitarist will have their own personal preferences when it comes to what style of music they would initially like to learn. Some may have a more-specific goal (singer/songwriter, soloist, etc.), while others may prefer a more general or overall approach to learning various playing styles and techniques. This series of books and videos are designed with a ‘pick and choose’ topic format (songwriting, soloing, etc.) so that once the Guitar Basics are completed, the guitarist can decide to focus on whatever topic they wish to study.

Silver Bells Acoustic Guitar Karaoke with Lyrics
This Karaoke Songs With Lyrics Christmas video will show how to strum the guitar progression to Silver Bells in the Key of 'A'. In this karaoke arrangement of Silver Bells, the guitar is capoed along the second fret with all chord shapes played 'relative to capo', so the chord shapes used for the capoed guitar resemble the Key of 'G', while the actual pitch of this arrangement of Silver Bells is in the Key of 'A'.
Silver Bells Lyrics
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, (ring-a-ling) hear them ring (ting-a-ling)
Soon it will be Christmas day
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on every street corner you hear
Silver bells, (silver bells) silver bells (silver bells)
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, (ring-a-ling)
Hear them ring, (hear them ring)
Soon it will be Christmas day
Strings of street lights, even stoplights
Blinkin' bright red and green
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch
This is Santa's big day
And above all this bustle you hear
Silver bells
Silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, it fills the winter air
Hear them ring, you hear it everywhere
Soon it will be Christmas day
Silver Bells History
'Silver Bells' was written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans for the movie, The Lemon Drop Kid, starring Bob Hope and Marilyn Maxwell in 1951. Livingston and Evans were very reluctant to write a Christmas song as new ones had never made the hit list. Their uncertainty about taking on such a project also stemmed from the fact that their contracts were coming due and they had not written a hit in a while. Another flop would have sealed their fate.
Because the studio was insistent on a new Christmas song being written for this movie, the duo wrote a song based on department store Santas and Salvation Army workers tinkling their bells on New York street corners. They named their song, "Tinkle Bell" and fortunately for all of us, Jay told his wife about the song, including their name for it. Asking Jay if he was out of his mind, she proceeded to inform him of the slang meaning of 'tinkle' understood by most people.
'Silver Bells' became a huge hit when Bing Crosby recorded a duet of Silver Bells with Carol Richards, securing the employment of Jay and Ray with Paramount Pictures and providing the world with a much-loved musical tradition.

Elvis Presley Blue Christmas Karaoke [Acoustic Guitar]
This acoustic guitar arrangement of Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley works well for a one-person performance. For singers, this Blue Christmas karaoke resembles more of an 'unplugged' acoustic version without all of the orchestration and special effects heard on the original recording.
Blue Christmas Backing Track for Singers
This Blue Christmas backing track can be used by singers to create their own acoustic cover performance of Blue Christmas.
Blue Christmas Acoustic Cover Arrangement
This acoustic guitar cover of Blue Christmas is in the same key and tempo of the original recording. This Blue Christmas karaoke songs with lyrics video will show how to strum the main guitar progression in the Key of 'E'. This acoustic cover version of Blue Christmas essentially follows the same guitar chord progression as the Elvis Presley recorded version.
Sing Karaoke to Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley
This sing along backing track of Blue Christmas features karaoke lyrics along with an acoustic guitar arrangement.
As this Blue Christmas karaoke video progresses, a second acoustic guitar is added. This second guitar is capoed along the second fret, and provides different chord voicings that harmonize with the original guitar progression/chords of Blue Christmas in the Key of 'E' Major. With the second capoed guitar, all chord shapes are played 'relative to capo', so the chord shapes used for the capoed guitar resemble the Key of 'D', while the actual pitch of this progression is in the Key of 'E'.
Blue Christmas was first recorded in 1948 by Doye O'Dell. 'Blue Christmas' was later popularized the following year in three separate recordings by country artist Ernest Tubb, conductor Hugo Winterhalter and his orchestra and chorus, and by bandleader Russ Morgan and his orchestra (the latter featuring lead vocals by Morgan and backing vocals by singers credited as the Morganaires).
Blue Christmas Karaoke Lyrics
I'll have a blue Christmas without you
I'll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won't be the same dear, if you're not here with me
And when those blue snowflakes start falling
That's when those blue memories start calling
You'll be doing all right
With your Christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas
You'll be doing alright
With your Christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas
You'll be doing all right
With your Christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas

"It was expressing the joy that I felt on Christmas and the fact that I felt very lonely. I missed my family, I missed Christmas carols with them. I missed the whole Christmas scene'.

Olha, que coisa mais linda,
Mais cheia de graça,
É ela, menina,
Que vem e que passa,
Num doce balanço,
A caminho do mar.
Moça do corpo dourado,
Do sol de Ipanema,
O seu balançado
É mais que um poema
É a coisa mais linda
Que eu já vi passar
Ah, por que estou tão sozinho?
Ah, por que tudo é tão triste?
Ah, a beleza que existe
A beleza que não é só minha,
Que também passa sozinha.
Ah, se ela soubesse
Que quando ela passa,
O mundo sorrindo
Se enche de graça
E fica mais lindo
Por causa do amor.

The Girl from Ipanema English Lyrics
all and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes, ah
When she walks she's like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gently
That when she passes, each one she passes goes, ah
Oh, but he watches so sadly
How can he tell her he loves her
Yes he would give his heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at he
Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes he smiles, but she doesn't see
Oh, but he sees her so sadly
How can he tell her he loves her
Yes, he would give his heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at he
Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes he smiles, but she doesn't see
She just doesn't see
No she doesn't see
But she doesn't see

The Girl From Ipanema Song Facts
The original music for 'The Girl From Ipanema' was composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim with lyrics by Vinicius de Moraes. The pair composed the song in 1962, during a get-together near Rio’s Ipanema beach, in admiration of one of the prettier girls walking by.
'The Girl from Ipanema was recorded in Portuguese immediately after it was written, the authors had no intention of translating it into English. Little did they know that the well-known American sax player Stan Getz was getting ready to introduce their musical style, samba, to a US audience. Getz got the idea from guitarist Charlie Byrd, who toured Brazil the year before. Together, they released “Jazz Samba” in 1962, including a song written by Jobim. It was an immediate success in the States, leaving Americans eager for more.
In response to this, Getz brought in Brazilian guitarist João Gilberto to record a new album, "Getz/Gilberto" on which Gilberto was to sing a few Brazilian classics in Portuguese. But since Gilberto didn’t feel comfortable singing in English, his English-speaking wife Astrud was brought in to sing in English.
