Multiple agencies and hazmat have respond to a BNSF freight train derailment in Anacortes, WA around midnight, releasing about 5,000 gallons of diesel fuel. Two locomotives, each capable of holding 3,500 gallons of fuel, overturned, and the majority of the spill was contained within a berm, leaking onto the land side of the tracks.

The towering oil rig structure was found to have housed a substantial quantity of diesel, hydraulic fluid, and oil, with additional potential hazards on board. The authorities have reported that the origin of the fire remains unknown at this time

According to the Springfield Post of Ohio State Patrol (OSP), OH-40 at I-70 is closed to traffic, along with Bert Road. It is not known at this time if anything was on the train at the time of the derailment.
