We are entering the third week of trial and so far there has been a lot of testimony of alleged crimes that none of the defendants were charged for originally. Lets see if this week changes that.

Ep3. Florida v Eileen Wournos. aka "Monster". Aileen Wournos killed 8 men in the span of just over a year. This is the trial regarding one of these murders.

Court camera crew forked up royally and showed the faces of 4-5 jurors. If the Judge decides to excuse those from their service, he will also have to decide if there will be a mistrial due to the risk of too few jurors in the middle of the trial.

Day 1 was a disaster for the prosecution. Day 2 was a tad better, but the first defense opening statement was strong. Now on to day 3. Second, the states opening statement began and within minutes they tried to shift the burdon of proof. Objected and sustained. Then a second objection due to argumentative. Sustained. And then it happened, something that has been a constant during the entire case. The state violated a direct court order. By not disclosing to the defence what slides they were going to use in their opening statement. Yep. Clusterfork.

States case in chief - part 2. States witnesses: Investigator James Downing, Detective James Malady and parole officer Jeff Davis. ************* Aileen Wuornos, a notorious American serial killer, faced trial in 1992 for the murders of seven men. Claiming self-defense, Wuornos argued she killed them during attempted sexual assaults. Her troubled past, including a history of abuse, was presented as a defense strategy. The trial garnered intense media scrutiny due to Wuornos being a rare female serial killer. Despite her defense, she was convicted and sentenced to death. Monday we watched the defense argue their motion to dismiss due to incorrect wording in the charges against Mr Williams et.al. That motion was denied, and the defense will appeal this decision to the appelate court. Today we will watch the defenses motion to dismiss evidence that took place late afternoon an well into the evening yesterday, and get started on tuesdays motions hearing.
