Keepin The Summer Alive cover
If Carl and Brian Wilson could have had a meeting of the minds on this highly underrated song by The Beach Boys, I think things would have been much more interesting for The Beach Boys. This song came out at a time in The BBs career when they could have grown into an influential 80s band. Carl wanted to do more r&b ish/rock songs that could have updated The BBs' sound. If Brian had worked with Carl and included some of Carl's songs from his solo career on The BBs records, I believe the BBs could have had a much better decade creatively. This version of KTSA is my attempt at what Brian and Carl might have sounded like working together. I think Bruce did a wonderful job with the album KTSA, but perhaps less of an oldies/doo-wop influence would have had a bigger impact on a wider audience.
