Here is our Full 3-Gun Match from August at LCSA in Brighton, MI. This was our last match of 2023 This was a fun and challenging match. I did not shoot particularly well, as you will see in the footage. Some of it is lack of skill/practice, some of it was due to tough stage design, and some of it was getting off to a bad start and just losing focus as the match progressed. Here is our Full 3-Gun Match from August at LCSA in Brighton, MI. This was a fun match with a couple really shotgun heavy stages that gave everyone not running open guns trouble. Stage 1: The first bay had over 30 shotgun targets. I only have capacity to hold 28 rounds, so I was in trouble even before I missed a few shots! In bay 2 the activators required some faster movement and I missed those moving targets Stage 2: Bay 1 was made tough by all the obstructed shots, as well as the double star not wanting to drop the plates when hit. I swear those weren't all misses with the shotgun!. In bay 2 I went one shot on the clay with my rifle, which was cool, but my holds weren't right and I hit a couple of the no shoots up close. Stage 3: Another silly mistake forgetting to turn my pistol's red dot on cost me some time, but other than that ran a solid stage Stage 4: I went 1-for-1 on the shotgun. Ran the pistol well, except for not knowing my hold on the longest target. It was trial by error, but eventually got it. And the rifle went fine except for the spinner at the end. I missed the June match and this was a shortened match due to incoming storms and the Match Director not having a ton of helpers setting up. So four stages instead of the normal 5. Still they did a great job putting together a fun set of stages! Equipment ran well today and really with exception of "Stage 1" I was happy with my performance. Missing targets with a shotgun, running the shotgun dry, and forgetting a couple pistol targets, really ruined the stage and likely cost me the division win today. Here is our local match at LCSA in Brighton, MI. I arrived 45 minutes late and shot the first stage with zero planning time. I watched one squad member run it and had to shoot it. I was then the second shooter on the second stage. So I didn't have time to check my camera angles and ended up recording the whole match with the action low of center Hopefully the 3d walkthroughs and flyovers fill in the missing details, and next match I'll be sure to dial in the Aimcam glasses a little better! I also ran into problems with my rifle and shotgun. The rifle I had swapped out my stock and buffer tube, and never double checked functionality. So I was slightly under gassed. I fixed it just prior to the last stage and you'll see it ran fine With the shotgun, on stage 4, my front site came loose during the stage. You will see me give up on the spinner that I would normally have no problem with. A little Loctite will fix that right up :) Outside of that, it was a tough match and I still finished relatively well. Proud dad moment! Charlie goes 4-1 in his second tournament! The one loss came on a sudden death tie breaker in a match that we felt he controlled well after giving up points in the first few seconds. He was in a 3 way tie for first, and ended up taking bronze because the other two kids had submission wins. But Charlie won a cumulative 42-14 on points throughout.

Here is my attempt at the Dicken Drill. This was a fun bonus stage at our latest match. We attempt to recreate Elisjsha Dicken's heroic act, where he intervened in an active shooter incident at Greenwood Park Mall in Indiana. He placed 8 out of 10 shots on the shooter in under 15 seconds, and saved countless lives. I shot it in 8.35 seconds which was good for 8th out of 23 shooters. Our fastest time was under 4 seconds! Always train to be the most dangerous person in the room!!!

Finally a match with no technical difficulties. My rifle gas system issues seem to be ironed out and I was really happy with that part of my game. The Stoeger M3K shotgun continues to run really well, and with the exception of one really rough stage (where I fumble like 4 quad loads) and running the gun dry a couple times, I was pretty content. The Atlas Athena pistol ran great again too. But this is where my lack of practice really shows. Lots of makeup shots. Starting with longer steel arrays on my first stage really took its toll, as I had no confidence in my point of aim for the rest of the day. Here is the first 3-gun match of the 2022 season at LCSA in Bright, MI We run a 5 stage match, and the match directors do a great job of mixing things up. This was a great setup to knock the rust off and kick off the season. I have some struggles with double feeds on the rifle. I need to get the gas tuned in better after making some changes in the off season. Other than that I was happy with how I shot. I will try and post a stage breakdown video with diagrams to talk a little more about stage planning and where my execution could have been better

I was super bummed out when I saw the footage, and wasn't going to make a video, but figured I would blend the stage diagrams in and post since this was the last match of the year, and its been a while since I posted anything. This was a great match with some really tricky stages. From a texas star with only a minimal shooting window, which forced you to hit the targets as they swung at the bottom, to a pistol spinner with a no shoot target behind it, the stage planners seemed to have been angry when coming up with ideas. The last stage involved carrying a stuffed yoda and shooting at storm trooper targets. This was our "PDW" match, which meant we had a special class for people who replaced at least one gun with a "personal defense weapon". These included AR pistols, short shotguns and pistol caliber carbines in "pistol" lengths. This is stages 4-5 from the 5/22/2021 match at LCSA gun club in Brighton, MI. Stage 4 required some awareness of what was behind your targets, running our shoot house, and a shotgun spinner. Stage 5 was on our rifle range and had a bunch of targets, movement, and a mix of short and long shots with all three guns.
