Just received my GoPro Hero 11 Black Creator Edition! Haven't got to try it out just yet, but am excited to do so. I am expecting it to be a nice upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy S10e...which is what all my videos have been done with up to this point. I'll review after I have had a chance to use it a bit.

Since my sweetie is looking to start doing professional photography, I figured I should support her via doing color grading for her. I knew my current monitor was not up to snuff. It was a Samsung Class RU7300. It is marketed as an HDR monitor, but I don't think it is true HDR. Doubly so now that I have seen the AORUS FO48U. This thing is amazing! Anyway...hopefully everyone is able to see the difference between the two monitors. In person, the difference is astonishing. I would say it is like I am seeing new colors I have never seen on other monitors before...but...well...that's LITERALLY why the Aorus is so much better. Heh! This one's a bit different. I happened to see my girls were sleeping and just looked very picture worthy. So...I TRIED to snap a couple good pics and some video of them. Then, while editing those together, I realized i shot the video in the wrong format for a proper short. It was then I realized I also did not have enough to reasonably fill out a greater then 1min video. Fortunately, Oliver said he wouldn't mind being in the video too. I opened a window for him, he came in, and I got the extra footage I needed! Hooray! Since I was experimenting in this anyway...I decided to do some color grading. The opening pic of Oreo is ungraded, the second is. The footage following that of the girls sleeping is color graded. The pic of Clementine after that clip is ungraded and the following is. Then, Oliver gets the spotlight till the end with an ungraded clip. I started to make some adjustments to it...but parts just looked so good...I just decided not to mess with it. Oh yeah...all this footage was captured on my Samsung Galaxy S10e with the Open Camera app. No, I don't actually know how to use it properly yet...lol...which is probably obvious if you have watched the video! Just some relaxing music with experimental visuals. As an aside, this video was incredibly problematic. It went through several design stages, and several early parts were scrapped entirely. Plus, it was a huge fight to render the final video. Lots of problems kept triggering crashes in DaVinci Resolve (the program I did this in) during the rendering phase. There were a lot of useful elements i learned in doing this. I may put a video together, or series, (on my personal channel) to explain the entire process and how I dealt with several of the problems.
