So today, instead of floating a magnet on top of a superconductor, I'm going to show what happens if I do it the other way around. For this one, I'm using a much bigger superconductor, and I'm again, cooling it with some liquid nitrogen. Now that it's super cold, I can drop it onto a little magnet track that I made. It actually stays on the track, and if I push it, it's able to move without falling off.

What's cool about mercury is that it can dissolve most other metals, and form something called an amalgam. This is commonly done to purify gold and separate it from raw ore. What I think is fun though, is to just throw some pure gold leaf into it. As the mercury dissolves the gold, it's slowly pulled in, and it kind of looks like the mercury is eating it.

Sodium metal is stored under oil because it's reactive to moisture and air. Most metals are hard, but sodium metal is really soft, and you can squish it, just with your fingers, if you squeeze really hard. Metals are usually shiny, and sodium metal is as well, but because it's so reactive, it quickly tarnishes. But because it's so soft, it can be easily cut with a knife, and on the inside, we can see the nice and shiny metal.

About a year ago I bought a powder from Russia called CPPO, which is a chemical that's commonly used to make glow sticks. I've decided to finally use it, to make some giant, glow stick thing. Besides the CPPO, we'll also need sodium acetate, ethyl acetate, some dye, and hydrogen peroxide.

So today, I've decided to dissolve some cotton balls in something called Schweizer's reagent. I need to mix concentrated ammonia with copper hydroxide. The solution can dissolve cotton, but it's kind of slow, and it's not like adding sugar to water. For everything to disappear, I just need to mix it for a few minutes. I can gel the cotton back, and to do this, I just have to pour it into some dilute acid.

Burning zinc and sulfur makes zinc sulfide, which can be used to make glow in the dark powder. Making it by burning zinc and sulfur is fun, but the quality is usually garbage, and it won't glow. To make stuff that actually works, it's a much more difficult process. A little while ago, I was able to make some on my main channel, and I used it to make a weird creepy baby thing.

Today I'm going to be showing you the classic barking dog experiment that I did a while ago on my main channel. To do this, I just have to fill a tall cylinder with nitrous oxide gas and add a few drops of a solvent called carbon disulfide. Now I just need to cover the top, and shake it around a bit. I should now have a mixture of the nitrous and the carbon disulfide, and all I have to do is light it on fire.

A while ago, I made all of this scary bromine in my parent's garage, and now I've decided that I want to throw some aluminum into it. This is one of my favorite reactions, and the last time that I did it, was probably over 6 years ago. WARNING: Bromine is very toxic and corrosive, and is extremely dangerous if handled improperly.

I bought some strawberries, but they tasted awful. So instead of eating them, I'm gonna pull out their slimy DNA.

So today, I've decided to do one of my favorite reactions, which is burning a mixture of iron and sulfur. Touching this mixture with a red hot glass rod almost immediately liquefies the sulfur which then reacts with the iron, and this generates a lot of heat. It's enough to keep the reaction going, and it slowly burns across the dish. When it's done and after it's cooled down, I'm left with a large chunk of iron sulfide, which I'm sure I'll find something to do with.

A few weeks ago, I bought some titanium tetrachloride which, I heard is one of the most obnoxious chemicals. When exposed to air, almost immediately, a bunch of white smoke starts pouring out. This is a mixture of hydrochloric acid and titanium oxides, which form as the titanium tetrachloride reacts with the oxygen and moisture in the air. What I've always wanted to do, was try and soak a super ball in it.

Ok, so today I'm going to try to turn some lead into gold. The first step is to get a few pieces of lead, and to add some dilute nitric acid. What I have to do next is get a beaker, and add some boiling water, and a small amount of potassium iodide. This all dissolves really quickly, and on top of this, I'll add a bit of vinegar, and that little lead solution from before. Now all I need to do is turn off the stirring, and basically just wait. Ingredients: 1) 0.5g lead metal + 50:50 nitric acid:water 2) 500mL water, 1g potassium iodide, 5% vinegar 3) Profit?

I've been wanting to try something for a while now and to do it, I'm gonna need some high-proof alcohol and some sodium polyacrylate. When mixed together in the right way with water, the polyacrylate is able to absorb all the alcohol and become an extremely flammable powder. I have to throw the fireball quickly because it feels like it's going to burn me, but it's worth it because it makes me feel super cool.

I've decided to make some dry ice and to do that, I need a tank filled with CO2 and a dry ice maker. The dry ice maker is basically just a denim sock, and all I have to do is attach it to the tank.

Something that I've always wanted to do, turns bromine into a popsicle. To do this, I'll use a glass rod for the stick. Then after that, I'll put a small Dewar flask under it, and fill it with some nice and cold liquid nitrogen. As it sits there the bromine should slowly freeze, because its freezing point, is only about negative 7 Celsius, or 19 Fahrenheit. The liquid nitrogen is way lower than that at around negative 196 Celsius, or negative 320 Fahrenheit.

Today I've decided to do something, which I think kind of looks like magic. I'll need 3 solutions which I'll call A, B, and C. Solution A contains sulfuric acid and potassium iodate. Solution B contains starch, malonic acid, and manganese sulfate. Finally, solution C is just hydrogen peroxide. Now when I mix them together something really cool happens. This is known as the Briggs-Rauscher reaction, and it's one of the very few oscillating chemical reactions.

Procedure: 1) Wash penny with vinegar and salt 2) Drop it into 3M NaOH (12g NaOH in 100mL water) + zinc metal 3) Dry it, put it on a hot plate, and turn on the heat 4) Gold

For a while now I've been wanting to make some dry ice cream, and I'm gonna sacrifice an ice cream sandwich. The first step is to remove its skin, and then I have to freeze dry it.

So today, I'm gonna be making some scary-looking microwave plasma, which may or may not destroy my microwave. WARNING: DON'T TRY THIS. Microwave plasma is extremely dangerous and can easily damage your microwave. This experiment was carried out in a controlled environment and serious injury can occur if performed improperly. The glass used in this experiment has a chance to explode and is otherwise permanently compromised.

We did the OBSTACLE CHALLENGE with our puppies! We put a lot of things on the floor and made three rounds with the kitty and just one round with the dogs . How will the kitty and the dogs pass them and how many things will fall after they passed? Kisses and until the next video! I love my animals more than everything! They are members of my family! No animals were mistreated for making this video! I would never put my dogs and my kitten at risk! All the pencils used in the video had their ends cut off before recording and did not represent a real danger to my dogs! Everything has been tested and done safely!
