The Magi Visit the Messiah
2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.’[b]”
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

Revelation 5:6
Jesus is the Triumphant Lamb who was slain to give you victory. When no one else could open the Book of Life, His death gave Him authority to unveil the mysteries of life and of the future. He stands in Heaven with seven crowns, which symbolize His ruling power. He stands complete in the Father’s plan. Because the Triumphant Lamb will complete the Father’s purpose in the last day, He can complete the Father’s purpose in your life for this day. The question is not why sin seems to be so triumphant in the world today; the question is whether you will let Jesus defeat the sin that you face.

Jesus: Savior
For there is born to you this day
in the city of David a Savior,
who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11
Jesus is the Savior, a title that means “deliverer” and “preserver.” Jesus has many names, but the most important name may be “Savior,” because He is the only One who can save you. “Salvation is of the LORD” (Jonah 2:9). Jesus is the Savior who will deliver you in many ways. He has saved you from the guilt of past sin and from the present bondage of sin, and He will save you from the future penalty of sin when you are taken to Heaven.
Lord, You have done so many things for me—things I don’t even realize. But Your most important gift was saving me; thank You. I feel confident in Your salvation, yet I want more. I want to enjoy all the benefits possible that come from salvation.
Jesus is the Savior (2 Peter 1:1). John referred to Him as “Savior of the world” (1 John 4:14). The Caesars of the Roman Empire called themselves the saviors of the world, but they could only give military deliverance. Jesus came to save you from damnation and eternal death. He will save you from weaknesses, temptations, attacks from Satan and addiction to sin. He will save in all ways those who come to Him.
I praise You, Savior, for “so great a salvation” (Hebrews 2:3). You have saved me in so many ways; continue to save me to the very end. Amen.

The Holy Spirit: Oil
The Holy Spirit: Oil
Therefore God, Your God,
has anointed You with the oil of gladness.
Hebrews 1:9
The Holy Spirit is the Oil of gladness. The Lord said, “I see the oppression of My people. I hear their cry. I know their sorrows” (Exodus 3:7). Just as the Lord knew and identified with the suffering of His people in Moses’ day, He knows your troubles today. He is Oil, pouring Himself into your wounds; He can make you rejoice.
Lord, Your healing Oil is good. Rejuvenate my Spirit and take away the scars of my mind. Just as Your Oil takes away physical pain, I also want You to take away mental and spiritual memories. Let Your Oil wash away the impurities in my wounds and cleanse me physically and mentally.
The Holy Spirit is Oil; when He pours His presence on your discouragement, you’ll have new zeal to live for God and new strength to serve Him—you’ll rejoice! The Holy Spirit is Oil; when He pours His presence on your failures, you’ll see new opportunities in your life—you’ll grow. He is Oil, washing away your impurities that fester and breed germs; you can be whole again. He is Oil, giving you a second chance and a new opportunity. Let the Oil of the Holy Spirit give you a new challenge this day.
Lord, Your Oil has made me a new person. My hurt is gone; my body is renewed for service; and my soul is again made whole. Thank You for today’s anointing. I’ll need a new one tomorrow. Amen.

Jesus: The Lord Jesus Christ
Our Savior’s composite name is “Jesus Christ,” the name Christians called Him at the end of the first century when John wrote the book of Revelation. However, in the Gospels He is mostly called by His Greek name “Jesus,” which reflects His earthly life. “Jesus” is “Joshua” in Hebrew, from the root meaning “Jehovah saves.” In the book of Acts, He is mostly called by His title “Lord,” which emphasized that He was the second Person of the Trinity and which reflected His deity. In the Epistles, He is mostly called by His office title “Christ.” Put them all together, and He is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus: Rabbi
Jesus: Rabbi
Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following,
said to them, "What do you seek?"
They said to Him, "Rabbi."
John 1:38
Jesus is Rabbi. The title is a transliteration (the letters cross over into English, letter for letter) of the Aramaic word for “teacher.” Just as you respect teachers for what they know and reveal to their hearers, so you revere Jesus as Rabbi, because He is the revelation of the Father to the world. Those who saw Jesus saw the Father (John 14:9). Jesus instructs us about who the Father is and what He is like. Jesus is your Rabbi.
Jesus, You are more than a spiritual teacher; You are the Son of God, the only One who can teach us salvation. Be my Rabbi; teach me all I need to know. Teach me how to walk in grace and how to live for You.
A rabbi was also called master, because he was the master of his students; in other words, he was a change agent in the life of his students. Jesus is your Rabbi, not only because of what He knows, but also because He is the Change Agent of your heart. Jesus will help you know the Scriptures, and He will help you do the will of God. Just as there is an intimate relationship between a teacher and a pupil, so your passion should be to know your Rabbi better (Philippians 3:10). Jesus wants to influence your life and to be your Lord; will you let Him do it?
Rabbi, I will learn Your teachings and let the Scriptures control my life. Be the Master of my life. Guide me and direct me this day. Amen.

The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of Wisdom
This video was made with Clipchamp
Good morning, here is today's prayer...
Good morning Lord,
Thank You for all of Your blessings and provisions in my life, especially the wisdom I receive from Your Holy Spirit.
And thank You that I don't need to worry about anything.
Just as You care for the birds of the air, and just as You clothe the flowers in the field, You care for me, as Jesus taught...
Look at the birds of the air,
for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns;
yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not of more value than they?
Which of you by worrying can add
one cubit to his stature?
So why do you worry about clothing?
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow:
they neither toil nor spin;
and yet I say to you that even Solomon
in all his glory was not arrayed like
one of these....
But seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:26-28, 6:33
I know that I can trust You to take care of me and my family and I don't need to worry or fear the future.
Help me to seek You and Your Kingdom FIRST.
Today, I pray for all who are in need.
I pray for those who are homeless and for those who are hungry.
I pray that You will be present with each of them and that You would use me to help those in need.
In the generous name of Jesus I pray,
Amen.
The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of Wisdom
The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge
and of the fear of the LORD.
Isaiah 11:2
O Spirit of truth, I need Your presence to help me sort out the motives of people around me. People take advantage of me and hurt me. I need to look beneath the appearance of things for a better understanding of what’s happening in my world. I don’t want to be deceived, but rather, I want to be an efficient servant for You.
O Spirit of Wisdom, help me be honest in all things. When You show me my real self, don’t overwhelm me with my weaknesses and sin. Give me wisdom to accept myself. Give me wisdom to overcome my weaknesses to be like Christ. Give me wisdom to live this day. Amen.

The Holy Spirit: His Voice
This video was made with Clipchamp
Good morning, here is today's prayer...
Dear Lord God,
I want more of You in my life.
Please help me to hear Your voice in my day to day routines...
Your ears shall hear a word behind you,
saying, “This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left.
Isaiah 30:21
Please let my worship of You become the soundtrack of my heart, resounding louder than all other competing sounds.
Is there something You want me to hear today?
Speak Lord, I am listening...
Therefore Eli said to Samuel,
“Go, lie down; and it shall be,
if He calls you, that you must say,
‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’ ”
So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
1 Samuel 3:9
Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears Your voice...
My sheep hear My voice,
and I know them, and they follow Me.
John 10:27
In the powerful name of Jesus I pray,
Amen.
The Holy Spirit: His Voice
For He is our God,
and we are the people of His pasture,
and the sheep of His hand.
Psalm 95:7
Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
"Today, if you will hear His voice,
harden not your hearts."

Jesus: The Lord Strong and Mighty
Good morning, here is today's prayer...
Today's prayer is based upon Psalm 147...
Dear Heavenly Father,
Oh, how I praise You my Lord!
You heal the brokenhearted and You bind up their wounds.
You know the number of the stars and You call them all by name.
Great are You, Lord, and mighty in power.
Your understanding is infinite.
You lift up the humble.
I praise you Lord.
You cover the heavens with clouds and prepare rain for the earth.
You make grass to grow on mountains and You give food to animals of the earth.
Praise you Lord.
You are the One in whom I trust to heal my hurts and to bind up my wounds.
You provide all my needs.
I thank you.
In the strong name of Jesus I pray.
Amen.

Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
the LORD mighty in battle.

Good morning, here is today's prayer...
Good morning my Father God.
As I look forward to this day, I want to start by thanking You for all of the blessings that You have given to me...
The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
Psalms 23:1
Thank You for the little things that I so often take for granted, like having food, clothing and shelter; being able to work; being able to get up out of bed.
Please keep me focused on what is truly important today, as Jesus told us...
Therefore do not worry, saying,
‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’
or ‘What shall we wear?’...
For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow...
Matthew 6:31-34
Lord Jesus, help me to remember these words of Yours and to not worry about anything today.
I will seek Your Kingdom first and always, come rule in my life and in my heart and in my mind.
I praise You, God, and give You all the glory, for who You are and for the great things that you have done.
In the holy name of Jesus I pray,
Amen.
The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of Your Father
But when they deliver you up,
do not worry about how
or what you should speak.
For it will be given to you in that hour
what you should speak;
for it is not you who speak,
but the Spirit of your Father
who speaks in you.
Matthew 10:19-20
Just as you have a spirit that is the intrinsic nature of who you are, so the Spirit of Your Father in Heaven has the same nature as the heavenly Father yet is a separate Person from the Father. The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead and is the Spirit of the Father. The Father sends the Holy Spirit to do His work. When you are persecuted, the Holy Spirit will indwell you to help you. When you don’t know what to say to your oppressors, the Holy Spirit will speak through you. The Spirit of Your Father will give you “in that hour what you should speak” (Matthew 10:19).
Holy Spirit, I trust You to help me in my hour of trial. Help me to glorify the Father in all that I endure.
The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father to give you boldness to speak when people reject your testimony. He will give you wisdom to know what to say and when to say it. At times, He will give you soft words that turn away wrath (Proverbs 15:1) and, at other times, stinging words to convict of sin. But most of all, He will give you convincing words that will sink deep in the hearts of your listeners. The Holy Spirit will not speak of Himself; He will glorify Christ (John 16:13).
Holy Spirit, fill my life with Your presence. Put words in my mouth that I need to speak, and use my testimony for Your glory. Amen.

Good morning, here is today's prayer...
Dear Lord God,
Thank You for Your promises to me.
Thank You for opening Your arms and welcoming me to come to You for forgiveness, to find rest in You, to find freedom in You, to have abundant life in You.
I cry out to You now for those who are heavy on my heart, for those who are going through the fire and for those who are going through the valleys; for those who face difficulties and for those who have come through trials and are triumphant because of You.
I pray for Your grace and Your mercy, Your peace and Your love, Your hand of blessing upon their lives.
I pray for Your miracles in their lives.
I pray that all who are weary will cry out to You and will trust You...
Come to Me, all you who labor
and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
I thank You for all that You have done and all that You will do.
May Your works and miracles in my life be a witness to those around me that You are God and that You love each person.
May You be glorified and may others come to Jesus today through my witness.
In the holy name of Jesus I pray,
Amen.
Jesus: Your Holy Servant
For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus,
whom You anointed,
both Herod and Pontius Pilate,
with the Gentiles and the people of Israel,
were gathered together.
Acts 4:27
Jesus is the Holy Servant, whom the Father has anointed. Jesus assumed the threefold office of prophet, priest and king. Just as an Old Testament prophet was anointed before ministering a word of the Lord, so the Father anointed Jesus to deliver the message of salvation to the world. Likewise, as a Temple priest was anointed to make an offering for sin, so the heavenly Father anointed Jesus to make an offering for the sins of the world. Just as a king was anointed to rule his kingdom, so the Father anointed Jesus to enter the hearts of believers and to rule their lives. Did you know that the title “Christ” comes from the Hebrew root that means “anointed”? So Jesus’ title is Christ, the anointed One.
Lord Jesus, You are my Prophet, Priest and King. Come with the message of salvation and sit upon the throne of my life to rule my thoughts and actions.
Jesus is the Holy Servant of the Father. The Father sent Jesus to do His will. He sent Jesus to live without sin among people. He sent Him to do mighty miracles and to demonstrate His love. He sent Jesus to die for all and to rise from the dead so that they might have life. Jesus was the Holy Servant of the Father for you.
Lord Jesus, just as You were the Holy Servant of the Father, so I want to be Your servant. Just as You were anointed by the Father to do Your work, I want Your anointing in my life. Come use me today.

The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of Judgment
This video was made with Clipchamp
Good morning, here is today's prayer...
Dear Lord God,
This passage from King David in Psalm 51 is my prayer to You today...
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You.
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed,
O God, The God of my salvation,
And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips,
And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
For You do not desire sacrifice,
or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.
Psalm 51:10-17
I praise You this day and I long to walk with You each moment of every day of my life.
In the all sufficient name of Jesus I pray,
Amen.
The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of Judgment
When the Lord has washed away
the filth of the daughters of Zion,
and purged the blood of Jerusalem from her midst,
by the spirit of judgment
and by the spirit of burning.
Isaiah 4:4
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Judgment who convicts believers of sin and shows them the error of their ways (John 16:8-11). Because He is the Holy Spirit, He is grieved when Christians allow sin to exist in their lives (Ephesians 4:30). If they continue sinning, the Holy Spirit brings judgment and the consequences of sin. The Holy Spirit would rather do good things for the children of God, but as the Spirit of Judgment, He must deal with sin. So keep yourself from sin.
Holy Spirit, I want to obey You and to become more godly. But temptation is so subtle, and I am weak. Give me strength to live a godly life.
The Holy Spirit does not warn you about judgment in order to terrify you or make you feel guilty. You don’t grow as a believer by legalistically abstaining from sin. The Holy Spirit tells you of sin in order to protect you from harm and to help you live a good life. You grow in the Spirit as you love the Father and obey the Scriptures. The Spirit of Judgment is also the Spirit of mercy, who forgives you when you cry out for mercy. Don’t look to others to learn how the Spirit has judged sin; rather, look to Him alone for grace and mercy.
Holy Spirit, thank You for both Your mercy and Your judgment in my life. I look to You alone for Your grace and love. Amen.

Please help me to be holy unto you...because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

May I remember Your love for me and draw closer to You each and every day...
That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all Your wondrous works.

It is with thanksgiving in my heart that I pray in Jesus’ holy name,
Amen.
The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of Holiness
And declared to be the Son of God with power
according to the Spirit of holiness,
by the resurrection from the dead.
Romans 1:4
The third Person of the Trinity is the Spirit of Holiness. His nature is pure and holy. The Holy Spirit is holy, just as the Father and Son are holy. No sin can come before the Holy Spirit, because His holiness means that, like the Father and the Son, He is a consuming Fire that judges any sin in His presence. But because Jesus died to forgive your sin, you can live with the Holy Spirit forever. You can confess your sins and come into His presence with your prayers for this day.
I come to You, Spirit of Holiness, asking that You give me holy thoughts and holy motives. I am only human and can’t become godly in myself.
The Spirit of Holiness entered your life when you became a Christian. Because you are a finite human, you cannot be holy in yourself; but the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life makes you holy. Invite Him into your body today. When you yield to His control, you will develop holy values and attitudes. When you put the Holy Spirit first in your life, you can have holy thoughts. When you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, you can have His power to live a holy life. Let the Holy Spirit fill your life with the Spirit of Holiness.
Holy Spirit, I want You to make me more godly. Fill me with Your holiness, and make me spiritual. Amen.
