--CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (also known as CSI: Las Vegas and also abbreviated as CSI) is an American crime drama television series, which premiered on CBS on October 6, 2000. The show was created by Anthony E. Zuiker and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It is filmed primarily at Universal Studios in Universal City, California.
The series follows Las Vegas criminalists (identified as "Crime Scene Investigators" working for the Las Vegas Police Departement instead of the actual title of "Crime Scene Analysts" and "Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department")
The "CSI effect" is a reference to the phenomenon of popular television shows such as the CSI franchise, Law & Order, raising crime victims' and jury members' real-world expectations of forensic science, especially crime scene investigation and DNA testing. This is said to have changed the way many trials are presented today, in that prosecutors are pressured to deliver more forensic evidence in court.

PASSION, MURDER, AND BETRAYAL. JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE.
Private eye Roland Drake (Tom Konkle) cracks cases and romances femme fatales in 1940’s Los Angeles while corrupt cop police detective Barry Tate (Vernon Wells) rules the city. A tale told in the classic style of film noir. Drake has fallen on hard times in a harsh world. He has been evicted from his office and disgraced by a missing persons case. Ruined in the public eye and with the police. it seems like it’s all over for Roland Drake. Then, redemption walks in – with curves. The owner of those curves is a sexy, dark haired beauty named Katherine Montemar (Brittney Powell). She wants his help. Her concern for the disappearance of her family members pulls him into her case – and into bed.
Classic film noir movies from the 1940s and 50s that are freely available on YouTube. Many film noir playlists on YouTube include movies.
Film noir (French for "black film") is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime and drama movies, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and sexual motivations.
The classic film noir period is considered as being from the early 1940's until the late 1950's. The films that qualify as film noir cinema feature low-key, black and white photography inspired by the chiaroscuro lighting of renaissance art and German Expressionism.
Many film critics and historians have cited Citizen Kane and Touch of Evil as the bookends of the film noir era in Hollywood, of course both of those films were directed by Orson Welles.
Film noir movies were as much a moment in history as they were a look created by a lighting style. It was the post-war era in America. The world, and particularly the returning veterans, had seen horrors the likes of which they'd never imagined.
They'd killed, seen friends killed, liberated concetration camps, witnessed first hand the horrors of a world war. The men who came back had a unique view of the world. One that they were not equipped to talk about.
How did this manifest?
One way was in classic film noir cinema. Picture Humphrey Bogart playing Phillip Marlowe. Or Sam Spade. In either case he was a man with a past, and man capable of violence. A man unsure of right and wrong until the final moment.
This was the hardboiled detective, and the film noir detective is a large part of the genre.

Trouble Is My Business 2018 #Trailer Black and White #Noir Version

http://www.troubleismy.biz for their Blu-ray or DVD in color and black and white. FILM REVIEW Trouble Is My Business is that rare film that manages to give audiences a visual noir feast as the backdrop of an excellent story, all the while incorporating comedic elements that never waver into the territory of parody.
Even from the very beginning, we sense we’re in good hands. A lonesome trumpet yearns over a piano and strings as the credits appear in a font that could be a first cousin to the one used in Double Indemnity. Outside a city building, a man wearing a trench coat and a fedora waits. A sedan approaches, its headlights burning into the night before the car stops. The man gets in and with the upper portion of his face illuminated, says to the driver, “Take me to the cemetery. She’s still alive.”
In a flashback (What film noir is complete without one?) we learn that the man in the trench coat is Roland Drake (Tom Konkle), a P.I. facing an eviction notice and feeling the aftereffects of a failed missing persons case. Into his office walks Catherine Montemar, a dark-haired beauty in a black dress handing Drake another missing persons case: Catherine’s father has just disappeared and she fears her sister may be next. As easily as Catherine walks into Drake’s office, she also slides into his bed, but the next morning Drake wakes up alone with blood-soaked sheets. As Drake tries to process this, there’s a knock on his door. A loud knock.
As with most good film noir stories, this is just the beginning.Trouble is My Business is filled with familiar film noir touches that will surprise audiences not by their inclusion, but rather by the care taken in breathing life into them. It’s easy to make a scene more “noirish” by adding slanted shadows from window blinds, slowly spinning ceiling fans and two-piece rotary telephones, but not so easy to have the essence of noir seep through. Case in point: when Jennifer Montemar (Brittney Powell) hires Drake to find out what happened to her sister Catherine, Drake isn’t quite sure she’s on the level. Drake’s skepticism is conveyed visually as he circumnavigates both his desk and the seated Catherine, all the while walking in the shadows of the ceiling fan. The camera follows both players in this cat-and-mouse game as Drake gains confidence and Catherine loses hers. Or does she? It’s a moment that’s better than it has to be. Seasoned noir audiences notice and appreciate such things.
Fans will also appreciate a tip of the hat to several classic noir films. Caspar Gutman’s story of the black bird in The Maltese Falcon (1941) comes to mind during Jennifer’s tale of a stolen family diamond. A nice Vertigo (1958) moment occurs when Drake stands outside the Montemar mansion looking in. A movie marquee in the background of one scene announces the showing of Build My Gallows High, the novel on which Out of the Past (1947) was based. Such touches are most welcome, like an unexpected visit from an old friend.
Konkle’s performance as Drake is everything a noir fan could ask for: an average Joe with an everyman face, a wise-cracking manner, and that precarious balance of intensity and indifference that eludes so many actors attempting P.I. roles. Powell (Stacy’s Mom) is stunning as Jennifer: tough and desperate, vulnerable and vehement, coy and aggressive. Although Vernon Wells as Detective Barry Tate goes a bit over the top, the supporting performances are generally excellent. (Jana Banker does more acting with her eyes in a few brief moments as a hotel receptionist than most actors can do given an hour.)
Director Konkle stays true to the roots of film noir, yet isn’t afraid to have fun. Trouble is My Business has a strong noir look and structure that will appeal to veteran film noir fans while the action and comedic elements could win over less-seasoned audiences. Such a balancing act is hard to pull off, but Konkle and company have done a masterful job doing so. Trouble is My Business is a marvelous independent film that deserves a wide audience. You can visit the film's website http://www.troubleismy.biz and watch the film on disc.
The film is available on various streaming and digital platforms. You can also find Blu-ray and DVD editions of the film, including both color and black-and-white versions, at Amazon, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, and other online retailers.

Invention with Brian Forbes Episode 3
Host Brian Forbes (David Beeler) is shocked and amazed at the working levitation machine that Sir Reginald Bo-Hey No (Tom Konkle) has made! Written by Tom Konkle and David Beeler .
Levitation (from Latin levitas "lightness") is the process by which an object is suspended by a physical force against gravity, in a stable position without solid physical contact. A number of different techniques have been developed to levitate matter, including the aerodynamic, magnetic, acoustic, electromagnetic, electrostatic, gas film, and optical levitation methods.
Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants, and are known for their role in pollination and for producing honey and beeswax. Bees are a monophyletic lineage within the superfamily Apoidea, presently classified by the unranked taxon name Anthophila. There are nearly 20,000 known species of bees in seven to nine recognized families, though many are undescribed and the actual number is probably higher. They are found on every continent except Antarctica, in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants.
An invention is a better or more effective composition, device, or process. An invention may be derived from a pre-existing model or idea, or it could be independently conceived in which case it may be a radical breakthrough. In addition, there is cultural invention, which is an innovative set of useful social behaviors adopted by people and passed on to others. Inventions often extend the boundaries of human knowledge or experience. An invention that is novel and not obvious to others skilled in the same field may be able to obtain the legal protection of a patent.
Invention is a creative process. An open and curious mind allows an inventor to see beyond what is known. Seeing a new possibility, a new connection or relationship can spark an invention. Inventive thinking frequently involves combining concepts or elements from different realms that would not normally be put together. Sometimes inventors disregard the boundaries between distinctly separate territories or fields. Ways of thinking, materials, processes or tools from one realm are used as no one else has imagined in a different realm.

Film Noir Deep Dive Double Indemnity with ScriptDoctor!
Script Doctor and I have begun writing together and we started talking about films we love and genres we love. Like film noir. So we wanted to talk about Billy Wilder's Double Indemnity.
A car swerves through downtown streets at night. The driver stumbles to the office of the Pacific All Risk Insurance Company and begins to record his confession about killing a man named Dietrichson. He flashes back to the beginning of the ordeal, when he first met the Dietrichsons.
He, Walter Neff, was an insurance salesman who renewed Mr. Dietrichson's policy at home. Walter was attracted to the man's wife Phyllis, although her manner was cold and sarcastic. She asked Walter about accident insurance for her wealthy husband. Walter accused her of trying to get him to kill her husband and refused. At his apartment, Phyllis told Walter how abusive her husband was, so Walter agreed to kill Dietrichson. Walter tricked Dietrichson into signing the accident insurance policy which insured Dietrichson's life for $50,000--an amount to be doubled in case he had a fatal accident on a train. Walter also gave Lola, Dietrichson's daughter from his late, first wife, a ride to town where she secretly met her boyfriend Nino Zachette.
Several weeks later, Dietrichson agreed to take the train to attend a college reunion. Walter killed Dietrichson and posed as as him and got on the train. Later, Walter jumped off the train and with Phyllis' help, placed Dietrichson's body on the tracks to make it look like Dietrichson had fallen off the train to his death.
Walter's boss Keyes told Walter that he suspected that Dietrichson's death was no accident, but a murder committed by Phyllis and her lover, Nino Zachette. Walter went to Phyllis' house and she shot him. He shot her dead and drove to the insurance office to record his confession.

Invention with Brian Forbes Episode 5
The dry frivolity of England continues as host Brian Forbes talks with inventor Sir Reginald Bo-Hey No about his latest collection of painfully funny comedy disguises. Directed by Tom Konkle.
Special thanks for production camera and equipment to Thor Melsted, Sandra Payne, and Perry Payne.
A disguise can be anything which conceals or changes a person's physical appearance, including a wig, glasses, makeup, costume or other ways especially for Halloween and Trick or Treating. Camouflage is one type of disguise for people, animals and objects. Hats, glasses, change in hair style or wigs, plastic surgery, and make-up are also used.
Disguises are used by criminals such as bank robbers and by spies seeking to avoid identification. A well-known person or celebrity may choose to go "incognito" in order to avoid unwelcome press attention. In comic books and films disguises are used by superheroes and in science fiction by aliens. Dressing up in costumes is a Halloween tradition.
Pain is "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage."

British host Brian Forbes (David Beeler) interviews the author Sir Reginald Bo-Hey-No about a book he's spent a lifetime writing and researching on Cartography. Written by Tom Konkle and David Beeler and produced by Pith-e Productions.
Cartography (from Greek chartis = map and graphein = write) is the study and practice of making maps. Combining science, aesthetics, and technique, cartography builds on the premise that reality can be modeled in ways that communicate spatial information effectively.
The fundamental problems of traditional cartography are to:[citation needed]
Set the map's agenda and select traits of the object to be mapped. This is the concern of map editing. Traits may be physical, such as roads or land masses, or may be abstract, such as toponyms or political boundaries.
Represent the terrain of the mapped object on flat media. This is the concern of map projections.
Eliminate characteristics of the mapped object that are not relevant to the map's purpose. This is the concern of generalization.
Reduce the complexity of the characteristics that will be mapped. This is also the concern of generalization.
Orchestrate the elements of the map to best convey its message to its audience. This is the concern of map design.
Modern cartography is closely integrated with geographic information science (GIScience) and constitutes many theoretical and practical foundations of geographic information systems.
An author is broadly defined as "the person who originates or gives existence to anything" and that authorship determines responsibility for what is created. Narrowly defined, an author is the originator of any written work.

Invention with Brian Forbes Episode 4
Host Brian Forbes returns after a medical leave to interview guest Sir Reginald Bo-Hey No about his controversial book on creationism and intelligent design versus evolution. Directed by Tom Konkle
Written by Tom Konkle and David Beeler Pith-e Productions
Invention is a creative process. An open and curious mind allows an inventor to see beyond what is known. Seeing a new possibility, a new connection or relationship can spark an invention. Inventive thinking frequently involves combining concepts or elements from different realms that would not normally be put together. Sometimes inventors disregard the boundaries between distinctly separate territories or fields. Ways of thinking, materials, processes or tools from one realm are used as no one else has imagined in a different realm.
Play can lead to invention. Childhood curiosity, experimentation, and imagination can develop one's play instinct—an inner need according to Carl Jung. Inventors feel the need to play with things that interest them, and to explore, and this internal drive brings about novel creations. Thomas Edison: "I never did a day's work in my life, it was all fun". Inventing can also be an obsession. To invent is to see anew. Inventors often envision a new idea, seeing it in their mind's eye. New ideas can arise when the conscious mind turns away from the subject or problem; or when the focus is on something else; or even while relaxing or sleeping. A novel idea may come in a flash - a Eureka! moment. For example, after years of working to figure out the general theory of relativity, the solution came to Einstein suddenly in a dream "like a giant die making an indelible impress, a huge map of the universe outlined itself in one clear vision". Inventions can also be accidental, such as in the case of polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon).

A moustache is facial hair grown on the upper lip. It may or may not be accompanied by a type of beard, a facial hair style grown and cropped to cover most of the lower half of the male face. Moustaches can be groomed by trimming and styling with a type of pomade called moustache wax.
A fake moustache or false moustache is an item of prosthetic make-up used in dressing-up, acting, espionage and crime. Fake moustaches are made in different ways, but usually require the wearer to use adhesive to affix the moustache to his face
