Authenticity is a word we hear frequently these days, especially on social and main stream media. Perhaps occasionally we can hear that word on cooking shows as well. You know when chefs stipulate, “oh this is authentic taste of let’s say Asia”, yeah right, as if. According to the almighty internet, the meaning of authenticity is as follows: “You're true to your own personality, values, and spirit, regardless of the pressure that you're under to act otherwise. You're honest with yourself and with others, and you take responsibility for your mistakes.” Again, that buzzword “authenticity” is flooding social media, but no one checks the source of information claiming he or she is authentic. Instead, we must understand that there is a big difference between authenticity and faking, perhaps to use a better world, imitating someone or something. Someone who focuses their professional success or financial gain on stealing others' concepts or ideas is not being real. Authenticity is hard to fake. Interestingly and perhaps conversely, authenticity is turning into a valuable commodity. We cannot be authentic if we act in a way that is inconsistent with our personal ideals. We are all unique. Each of us has certain values, ideals, desires, and purposes for existing that, when combined with our chosen careers and behaviors, create an original work of nature that is impossible to imitate. Life happiness, self-assurance, not worrying about what people would think or say, the absence of ego, the lack of the desire to prove and debate, and the absence of jealousy are all signs of authenticity. When I say relationship, this doesn’t necessarily mean only loved ones but professional relationships as well. No relationship, whether it be personal or professional, is perfect, none. Perhaps in movies we can see this. The perfect relationship kicks off and then, the movie ends. In general, a healthy relationship helps you feel safe, content, loved, respected, and able to be who you are. Maybe you’ll get lucky and get some extra cuddling or a slice of cake. On the other hand, toxic relationships leave you feeling exhausted, empty, and occasionally even distressed. When we are happy and in a happy relationship, we are feeling great and happy to show off to all. But what if our personal or professional relationships are toxic? How exactly does the toxic relationship influence our behaviour and decision making? A toxic relationship is the last thing you need when you're running a business, working with a partner, leading an organisation, or managing a team. Relationships are very important, and being in a toxic one can cost you a lot of time and energy that you could be using far more effectively. Every effective leader is aware that relationships between them with their peers or subordinates are essential to success. It takes partnership, teamwork, support, cooperation, and unity for a business to succeed, a plan to move forward. Most of the important things we accomplish are usually done in partnership with others. Good relationships in business need effort, just as in life. It's worthwhile too. In the end, there can be no partnership without communication, leadership without respect, a team without trust, and no enterprise without value. Be strong if you need to exit a bad relationship. Stay loyal to who you are and what you believe in, and always follow your heart.

Friends, family members, peers at work; or in my case my personal trainer because I am secretly nibbling sweets. Have you ever wondered why we judge people in life or in business? According to Carl Jung: “Thinking is difficult, that’s why most people judge.” For those who don’t know who Carl Jung was – he was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. We live in a society where people are classified by labels (mostly those labels coming from MSM, Social Media Platforms etc). This makes us feel disconnected from the those who live the life filled with labels and no need to think but rather use the labels. Why do we judge? That is the question. When we are not in touch with our emotions, we tend to project them onto other people. We always turn to ourselves and judge when we're feeling insecure, afraid, or ashamed. When we are honest with ourselves about where we are going and how we are leading, we are better able to direct ourselves and make decisions. We are responsible as leaders to put aside our prejudices and insecurities in order to accept others for who they are. Learning to let go of the desire to judge and to look within instead of projecting is not always simple, but it can be a very effective tool. The important lesson for leaders is to let each person lead from their heart rather than passing judgment. Judging others is hurtful and harmful. So think, don’t judge, be a leader, not follower of labels.
