Bias in The Media | Ridin’ the Storm Out | September 12, 2024
"What does this mean for everyday citizens and their role in the democratic process? How can we, as informed individuals, better navigate the sea of disinformation?"
In this episode, Pastor Paul Blair and David Hanan, Ph.D., explore media bias and its implications for public opinion and democracy. They also examine the controversy surrounding voice assistants like Alexa and their responses to questions about political candidates and voting. How does AI, like Alexa, potentially influence voters with its carefully curated answers?
We'll also explore the brief ban of X (formerly Twitter) in Brazil in 2024. The Brazilian government acted against X after failing to comply with regulations regarding spreading misinformation, particularly surrounding elections. We'll discuss how disinformation policies and moderation were insufficient to protect public safety, leading to legal restrictions and bans in certain countries.
In addition, we examine Mark Zuckerberg's confession regarding the Biden-Harris White House's involvement in shaping disinformation tactics, raising concerns about the extent of government influence on social media platforms.
Join us as we navigate these turbulent waters, discussing the intersection of media, technology, and politics, and how they shape the narratives we hear during election seasons.
Tune in for an eye-opening conversation that will leave you questioning the role of media bias in shaping the world's political landscape.

Dr Jeff Myers - Should Christians Support Israel?
https://www.summit.org/promotions/should-christians-support-israel-free/
On this month's Liberty Pastors Zoom with DR. JEFF MYERS (President, Summit Ministries), we discuss Should Christians Support Israel?
GEN Z is Most Antisemitic Generation in Modern Polling History, But Polling Also Shows It’s Not Too Late to Win Them Back
The protests in the streets and on college campuses against Israel and in support of Hamas have been hard to believe for many Americans—yet a landmark poll of Gen Z voters from Scott Rasmussen’s RMG Research/Summit show the problem is real.
Nearly half (47%) of Gen Z is sympathetic to Hamas, and Gen Z is also three times as likely to as the general population to deny Israel’s right to exist, and Gen Z Christians are just as likely to hold those views.
We now have a generation that is primed to, and is already, accepting the propaganda campaign behind Hamas—but there is hope. The polling showed that Gen Z is highly likely to change their mind and their support of Hamas when presented with factual and historical proof about the Israel/Palestinian conflict.
That is why Dr. Myers wrote Should Christians Support Israel?— dissecting the propaganda strategies used to generate sympathy for the apocalyptic ambitions of Hamas, and exposing the twisted worldview of radical Islamists and leftist progressives wanting to bring an end to Judeo-Christian civilization.
Dr. Myers unpacks the history, the ideologies, and spiritual forces at play in the battle between our western civilization and those seeking to upend it through his own travels to Israel’s war zones after Oct 7th, and his conversations with experts, journalists, citizen-soldiers, survivors, and hostage families.
