Today we read about Jehu murdering all of Ahab's family and then all of the servants of Baal. Jeremiah bought a pot and broke it in front of some elders and people of Israel as an example of the disaster to come. Isaiah praises the Lord for his righteousness.

I wanted to take a minute and share the story of Jesus's birth. What a glorious day to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. He is the hope of humanity to be reconciled to God in order to share in His glory and be a child of God. Today we read about Jehu being anointed as king and killing Joram and Ahaziah. Jezebel is also killed and her body is eaten. Jeremiah is shown the potter making pottery and told about how the Lord will mold nations and people. Isaiah praises the Lord.

Today we read about the Shunnamite woman getting her property back and Hazael murdering Ben-Hadad. Jeremiah speaks about Judah's sin and commands the people of Jerusalem to keep the Sabbath day holy. Isaiah prophesies about the destruction of the earth.

Today we read about the siege on Samaria being lifted. Jeremiah prophesies about the day of disaster coming down on Israel. Isaiah prophesies against Tyre.

Today we read about Elisha making an axhead float and blinding the Arameans that are after him. Jeremiah prophesies about the destructions coming to Israel. Isaiah prophesies against Jerusalem.

Today we read about Elijah being taken to Heaven and Elisha taking over after him. Elisha fixes water in a town and calls a curse down on boys making fun of him. Jeremiah prophesies about the covenant being broken and the plot of the people to kill Jeremiah. Isaiah prophesies against Cush.

Today we read about Ahaziah summoning Elijah and Elijah calling down fire on the heads of the messengers. Ahaziah dies because he turned from God. Jeremiah prophesies about the idols that surrounding nations make and the destruction of these idols. Isaiah prophesies against Damascus.

Today we read about Micaiah prophesying against Ahab and then Ahab dying at Ramoth Gilead. Jeremiah continues prophesying about sin and punishment. Isaiah continues prophesying against Moab.

Today we read about Elijah meeting Ahab and challenging the prophets of Baal who cannot ignite their sacrifice while God shows his power with Elijah's sacrifice. God asks Jeremiah to seek any righteous people in Israel and there are none. God will not completely destroy Israel though. Isaiah prophesies about songs of praise sung unto the Lord.

Today we read about the conflicts between the kings of Israel and Judah. The kings are Abijah then Asa for Judah and Nadab and Baasha for Israel. Jeremiah speaks about Israel forsaking God. Isaiah speaks about the Lord's anger against Israel.

Today we read about Jeroboam's son becoming sick and God being angry with the sin Jeroboam has caused Israel to commit. Rehoboam is the king of Judah. Jeremiah is called before birth to speak the word of God. Isaiah and his children are a sign in Israel.

Today we read about a man of God from Judah that prophesies about the wickedness that Jeroboam is performing at these altars. Esther records the greatness of Mordecai in the kingdom of Xerxes in Media and Persia. Isaiah prophesies about Immanuel and the Lord uses Assyria as His tool.

Today we read about Israel rebelling against Rehoboam while Jeroboam set up golden calves as gods for Israel. Esther's people were saved from destruction and exacted revenge on their enemies. Mordecai recorded the festival of Purim. Isaiah is sent by God to speak to Israel.

Today we read about Solomon's wives leading him to other gods and angering the Lord. Esther begs the king to spare her people and King Xerxes puts out a new edict to protect them. Isaiah speaks a song about a vineyard and woes to those that do what is wrong in the eyes of the Lord.

Today we read about the Queen of Sheba visiting King Solomon and all of the splendor of King Solomon's kingdom. Esther asks King Xerxes to save her people and the king has Haman impaled. Isaiah speaks about the Branch of the Lord and His great refuge.

Today we read about the Lord appearing to Solomon once again to remind him to follow his decrees and follow His laws and commands. Mordecai is honored by King Xerxes for stopping those that were conspiring to assassinate him. Isaiah prophesies the judgment of Jerusalem and Judah.
