Context: Tasha K lost her lawsuit against the rap superstar back in January and was ordered to pay $4 million to Cardi for making false claims. Following the verdict, the UnWineWithTashaK host made it clear that she doesn’t have the money to pay up, and she filed an appeal. But the “Bodak Yellow” rapper wants every penny she’s owed, so last month she started the process to seize all of the vlogger’s property and assets. This included sending a letter to JP Morgan Chase to request that they keep any coins she has. According to RadarOnline.com, JP Morgan Chase Bank recently notified the mother of two that Tasha K and her company, Kebe Studios, only have $1,083.02 in their accounts. This won’t even put a dent in the $4 million that is owed. Since the 40-year-old’s livelihood is on the line, Tasha K has filed an appeal of the judgment that is currently pending. The vlogger is hoping this will hold off any possible collections. As Blavity reported last month, Tasha K had the streets wondering if she ran to Africa to escape paying the “WAP” rapper. The vlogger hopped on Instagram to clear up rumors, explaining that she was learning about the continent while on vacation. She told her viewers that she would share a vlog of her “new life” in Africa and dropped the first episode documenting her journey a week ago.

Context: Radar Online reported that Almánzar filed paperwork in Georgia to begin the collection process to obtain the funds from the YouTube personality’s bank account at J.P. Morgan Chase. During her 2019 lawsuit against the blogger, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, Almánzar provided medical records allegedly proving that she didn’t have herpes and that she suffered from emotional distress due to the rumors. She also called Kebe “evil” for spreading false allegations. Kebe filed a countersuit alleging that the rapper had her fans attack her on social media, but it was reportedly dismissed based on lack of evidence. Kebe also appealed the $4 million judgment which is currently pending. Despite the hefty judgment, Kebe is still talking about the “Bodak Yellow” rapper on social media and recently made a comment about Almánzar begging for coins. She was also accused of fleeing the United States to avoid paying the rapper. “Welp, #YouTube video up in 5 minutes,” she wrote.” Since your fav keeps BEGGING for these little coins, ask her how she wants the 4 million? In Guinea Francs or Ugandan Shillings?" Kebe claimed that she is on vacation in Bamako, Mali and didn’t move to avoid paying the rapper. The “WAP” artist also allegedly requested that the bank put a hold on all of Kebe’s property, wages, money, contents of safe deposit boxes, and all other assets. She also allegedly requested information about how much money Kebe has with the financial institution.

Context: Crystal Renay filed for divorce against Grammy Award-wining husband Ne-Yo just three months after their vow renewal. The duo have been married for seven years. Renay called it quits when she discovered that Ne-Yo had gotten someone else pregnant while the two were married. In a now deleted Instagram post obtained by Hip Hop Hollywood, Renay shared with her followers what had led to her filing for divorce. “8 years of lies and deception. 8 years of unknowingly sharing my life and husband with numerous of women who sell their bodies to him unprotected,” she said in the Instagram post. Ne-Yo has responded to his estranged wife’s claims via his own social media accounts — though all his responses have since been deleted. In a recent court document, the singer filed a motion requesting a ban on Renay speaking out publicly about the divorce. Documents obtained by Radar Online show that Ne-Yo’s attorneys argued his wife should be held in contempt of court, and that her online activity should be considered harassment. “To date, Ne-Yo has lost approximately $400,000 in wages associated with public appearances, professional bookings, and promotional efforts related to the promotion of his new musical project,” the motion reads. The two met in 2014 and married in 2015, having their son shortly thereafter. In 2020 the two hit a snag in their marriage and Renay filed for divorce, but the couple ended up reconciling.

More than three years after the fatal shooting of the Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle, whose 2019 killing in front of the local clothing store he owned scarred the South Los Angeles neighborhood he had devoted his adult life to championing, a jury on Wednesday found Eric R. Holder Jr. guilty of first-degree murder in the case, closing a painful chapter in recent hip-hop history. At trial, prosecutors described the gunman as an embittered acquaintance who had belonged to the same street gang as Hussle but felt disrespected by him during a brief parking-lot run-in. That Mr. Holder pulled the trigger was not in dispute in court, with his own public defender and multiple eyewitnesses identifying him in testimony and security footage as the assailant who fired toward Hussle with two handguns, hitting the rapper at least 10 times before kicking him in the head. But Mr. Holder’s legal team had argued that the killing was not premeditated and instead occurred in the “heat of passion,” about nine minutes after a conversation in which Hussle invoked neighborhood rumors that Mr. Holder had cooperated with law enforcement, or snitched, a serious offense in the gang world, and urged him to clear things up. After meeting for less than an hour on a second day of deliberations, the decision by the jury to find Mr. Holder guilty of first-degree murder indicated that they agreed with the Los Angeles county prosecutors that Mr. Holder had made the decision to kill Hussle as he returned to a car after their initial talk, loaded a gun, took a few bites of fries and then marched back through the parking lot to confront the rapper. Mr. Holder, 32, could face life in prison. He will be sentenced on Sept. 15. He was also found guilty of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter, stemming from the two bystanders who were wounded in the shooting, lesser charges than the attempted murder counts prosecutors had brought. A lawyer for Mr. Holder argued that the case was overcharged and that his client had no specific intention of harming either of the other two men, both of whom were strangers to him, when he attacked Hussle. In addition, Mr. Holder was found guilty of possessing a firearm as a felon and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. In court, Mr. Holder stared forward, unflinching. He wore a dark navy suit and white sneakers.
