I traveled to Gaston County North Carolina on Saturday, Aug 26 to attend the Gaston County GOP Precinct Officer Training. It was at the GOP headquarters in the Eastridge Mall. I had a nice conversation with Robert King, the Gaston County GOP Chair. I felt welcomed and enjoyed the meeting very much. I was so impressed when Senator Brad Overcash got up to speak. Senator Brad Overcash is the State Senator for Gaston County. It was clear that the Gaston County GOP is very happy with their Senator. Senator Brad Overcash has a true passion to represent the people in Gaston County. It was worth my drive to hear him speak. Melinda Suddes, the GOP 1st Vice Chair did a great job organizing this event. Rosemary Ledford manages the store front at the GOP headquarters. I was very impressed with the good job she is doing with their store. She allowed me to interview her so I could show others their beautiful store front in the Gaston County GOP office. I look forward to coming back to Gaston County in the near future!

Voting Machine Workshop by Kathy Maney – Franklin County Republican Ladies GOP Hi everyone, I had the opportunity to travel to Louisburg, NC to present my Voting Machine Workshop to the Franklin County Republican Ladies GOP. They invited me to the beautiful Hudson Manor Estate on Saturday, Aug 12. Everyone who came to the workshop were so kind and several helped with setting up and taking down my equipment. It was so much fun and we all had a great time. Everyone was given a paper ballot, after marking their choices on the ballot, they slid it into a tabulator machine. The ballots were scanned to come up with the total. The machine showed the same number of ballots as voters. We did not have more votes than voters, that was a good thing, then the machine told us who won. Some people did not agree so we hand-counted the paper ballots. After the hand-count, we watched a 60 minute video explaining how the voting process worked in Henderson County during the time I spent as a poll observer. The video shows how the electronic computerized voting machines work in North Carolina. This workshop is a hands-on learning experience but more than that, it is so much fun! I made some new friends and was asked to bring my workshop to other groups in surrounding counties. Thank you, Franklin County Republican Ladies, for inviting me!

In Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting the Board decided In a 3-2 vote to terminate Shasta County's contract with Dominion Voting Systems after next month’s special election in the city of Shasta Lake. The term of the contract was set to run through December 31, 2025.

Saturday night UPDATE from the NCGOP Convention in Greensboro, NC: Over 1,800 delegates gathered to vote for the new GOP Chair today at 2 o’clock. The current Chair and his followers refused to allow the vote to be taken by paper ballot. They required us to vote using an app downloaded from an app store or use one of the tablets located in a corner of the room. The voting started with John Kane and Michael Whatley making their speeches. I felt that John Kane’s speech brought most of the house to loud roars and applause in agreement with what he had to say. Michael Whatley did his normal bragging on himself as if he caused Republicans to win in 2020 and 2022. He never admits to any voting fraud and says that other states lost because they did not do what he did in NC. Well, his app was a total embarrassing disaster! Today’s vote was for our new NCGOP Chair. We did not even get to vote for the vice-chair. The app did not work for many, people from outside the room were able to vote, people in other states were allowed to vote, many counties had more votes than voters, the internet was very slow which caused many to have a hard time logging into the app. We were there for over 4 hours and the final count went for Whatley (of course that was the plan.) That is why he refused to allow us to use paper ballots. Only people in the room were allowed to vote, this is the law. They would not allow anyone to leave or get in when the vote started. That is a long time to keep people locked in a room. That did not matter because others outside the room who could not get in, were able to use the app and vote. After the final vote, John Kane made a speech and I feel that most of the people in the room agreed with him. John Kane did not concede. Michael Whatley did not make an acceptance speech. I’m sure it’s because he knew the audience would not agree with him and I also believe that he knows he did not legally win. IT’S NOT OVER!
