Hardening or Acclimating, seedlings to the outdoors is a must in the process of indoor growing. There's no one way rule here. Start in shade and work up to full sun over a week or longer. If the plant does have to return indoors for extended periods, the process must be re-started.

I love how quickly brassicas come up, It's the instant gratification we all need in the beginning.

Up-potting earlier in the plants development would also help lessen transplant shock by root disturbance.
