Lake Burlinskoye in the Altai Territory
The average depth of 1.65 meters allows the existence of a railway route passing directly through the water.
This place looks like another planet.
There is salt and bluish soil underfoot. I can't believe that you can stand here only 700 kilometers from home. Only halophyte plants can survive in the soil next to the lake, and this makes the landscape even more unearthly, alien.
Lake Burlinskoye, it's called Bursol, it's Pink. One of the unusual places in Siberia, it is located in the Kulunda steppe of the Altai Territory, 450 kilometers from Novosibirsk.
The lake arose as a result of climate change. In the prehistoric era, there was the Mansi Sea here. Due to warming and falling humidity levels, the sea dried up and left behind many small salt lakes. They continued to dry out until they turned into shallow salt marshes.
One of the features of Burlinsky Lake is the pink color of the water, which varies from blue on a cool day to thick crimson on a hot one. The salmon color of the lake is given by the crustaceans artemia and nauplia. Moreover, they emit pink pigment under the influence of sunlight. The more sun there is, the more intense the color becomes.
Salt has been mined here since the XVIII century. In 2010, the Altai Salt Mining Company restored production at the Burlinsky salt field. Today it is the largest deposit of table salt in Western Siberia. In addition to salt mining, it seems to me that it is also a very cool art object at the moment. The colors of the lake, sky and beach are unearthly, as if from another dimension.
Burlinsky Lake has an absolutely closed system. There are no feeding tributaries, there is not a single stream flowing out of it. And the density of water is higher than in the Dead Sea. Therefore, in winter, the Bursol does not freeze and replenishes its volume due to rains and snow.
Imagine how cool it is here in winter, standing on the shore of the lake and watching the falling snowflakes melt in the warm waters of the lake?

Samara region. Samara is the most beautiful city in the Volga region. Aerial photography
In 1586, a fortification appeared in these places to defend the southern borders of the state. This year is taken as the official date of the founding of Samara. The fortress became a city in 1688. The name came from a tributary of the Volga - the Samara River. It was originally referred to as Samara town. There are several versions explaining the origin of this name. On the one hand, "samar" is translated from Turkic as "steppe hand", and on the other, the name has Greek roots and it has the meaning "merchant".

Saint-Petersburg. The Hermitage presents the Russian style
A large collection, both for festive and everyday wear. Many costumes are full of amazing finds and secrets that they sometimes keep for centuries. For example, restorer Tatyana Grunina-Shkvarok once took a women's suit to work and it seemed to her that one of the sleeves was more rigid. She carefully propped it up and took out the letter! In it, the husband, who was working, wishes health to all his relatives and sends money to his family. Apparently, the wife spent the money, and decided to keep the letter from her dear husband closer to her body. His original, of course, was placed in special conditions, and a good-quality copy was put in the sleeve.
The great pride of the collection is the outfits for the 1903 costume ball in the style of the era of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. By the way, a find was also made in the ballroom costume of Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna - a fudge bitten by the Princess!

Crimea, north of the Kerch Peninsula. Karalarsky Nature Park
It is located between Cape Chagany and Lake Chokrak (famous for its healing mud). Rare plant species grow here and birds listed in the Red Book nest. The local steppes are very beautiful in spring, when tulips bloom. It was from here that they were first brought to Holland, the largest exporter of these flowers, several centuries ago.
One of the most picturesque places on the Kerch Peninsula is the Karalar steppe. The northern coast of Azov with a chain of hilly, rocky and flat landscapes is fraught with many archaeological sites. The inaccessible cliffs offer views of the endless expanse of the sea. The land border of this unique corner of wildlife runs from the village of Zolotoe, Belinskoye, Chistopol, the village of Bagerovo to the village of Kurortnoye, which is beyond Lake Chokrak. Today, the Karalar steppe is the only natural monument of its kind.
