Diesel Tank Restoration
Over the last couple days I stripped the old paint and rust off a diesel tank. After attempting to use a wire wheel I was forced to use a grinding disc which got the job done. I then wiped it down with paint thinner to remove the dust, used a weed burner to warm the metal up so the primer would dry a little faster, and then painted it shortly after. With a new pump and fill cap installed it came out beautifully!

Pouring the garage floor in the rental...
We have been preparing to pour the concrete slab in the rental property's garage for weeks and we finally did it. After a massive amount of gravel hauling, pipe burying, and planning, the concrete was ordered. the floor didn't come out perfect but what can you expect with it only being our second pour in our life and YouTube being our only teacher!

Fabricating the Garage Drain In the Rental
Before we can pour the concrete slab in the garage I need to build and set the drain in place. With the drain needing a minimum slope of 1/4 inch per 10 feet, it became apparent that the drain would stick out of the finished concrete by 3 inches...so I had to get thinking. With winter fast approaching in Alaska, I need to get the concrete work done on the rental before it becomes to cold!

Fixing the old dump truck!
In this episode we fixed a broken valve for the dumpbox hydraulic cylinder. Going to the local junk yard and removing it before swapping the fittings and putting it on our truck. A pretty simple job that ended super well with the dump truck back up and running! This has been an invaluable machine with our goal to build rental properties and we cant go without it for too long.

Tree Removal on a budget
In this video my brother and I removed the trees far to close to our house and detached garage incase they fell over. After finding out how much it would cost for a professional to do the job we decided to do it ourselves. We bought an old bucket truck, fixed a couple hoses on it and got to chopping! On top of getting it done we were able to sell the truck for a nice profit.

Electric Meter Pedestal Build
Today I showed how I built my electric meter pedestal in Alaska out of treated wood. This pedestal is for two, 200 amp meters. Conduit on the electric companies side has to be minimum of 10 feet long and on the consumers side a minimum of 6 feet long. These will all get berried once the wires are hooked up and ran underground. Staples must be spaced 6 inches apart when holding down grounding wire and clamps used to clamp it to the grounding rods.
Plans for the pedestal: https://global-uploads.webflow.com/5fb0ad9934bc7925eff9ad65/6194719bb181634a7af33084_2021.01.11%20MEA%202021%20Service%20Guide%20Final%20(1).pdf
Disclaimer: I am not an electrician and am not giving professional advice, this is just how I did it.

Video 1
The first video documenting my journey of building the first rental property of a portfolio of 400. Today I wired 6 LED lights in the crawl space with 3 sockets in each corner. Simple job of drilling holes and routing the cables to boxes and then wiring in the lights. Added some plugs as a second thought incase we needed to use some power tools down there.
