"Three P's For Our Present Distress" (Psalm 94), 2023-07-23, Longbranch Community Church
What a beautiful day of worship & praise in one of the oldest Pioneer Churches in the entire Puget Sound region.
Join with us as Pastor John elects to take a brief reprieve from the Book of Jeremiah. Today, John elected to unpack Psalm 94; a particularly interesting chapter where the author wrestled with where is God …in times of distress. This message is titled: “Three P’s for Our Present Distress”, and addresses an issue that is just as timely for us today, as it was 1400 – 500 yrs. BC. Bottom Line: Perseverance, Prayer, Prepare.
Additionally, this morning’s music was graced by God, as was our sweet time of prayer and after church fellowship. What a beautiful, enlightening, challenging, gorgeous, genuinely worshipful day to be in the family of God. “Come on down – we’ll save ya a seat!”

Join with us as Pastor John completes his “I Have a Dream sermon. In part 2, John expounds on the remaining two components of the dream Jeremiah spoke of in Chapter 30:1 – 31:26. Buckle up my friends; this sermon is generously laced with abundant scriptural support. What a joy to worship at a church that preaches straight from the bible. Today’s music was “also” a tip to the yesteryear’s old fashioned spiritual mannerisms and style. Truly, it was another beautiful morning to be worshiping in The Lord’s Church.

"I Have a Dream" part one, (Jeremiah 30:1-31:26) 2023-04-16, Longbranch Community Church

As hard as it is to believe, and judging by any standard, Pastor John elevated even his own game with Part One of Two of this stunning sermon titled “I Have a Dream”. Yes sir indeed: “We at Longbranch Community Church are beyond blessed to have access to John’s keen insight and stellar oratory skill. "Simply Unbelievable", Resurrection Day 2023, Longbranch Community Church
No sane person doubts the “historicity” of Jesus; there were thousands and thousands of eyewitnesses. But the resurrection? Even though there were over 500 eyewitnesses, well that my friends, stretches the imagination beyond the limits of logical belief – it must, and can only be, a matter of “belief”. Unbelievable, yup. Un-understandable, unthinkable, incomprehensible even, …unless it really was …of God! And if indeed it was of God, the only thing we can logically call it, “…is uncontainable”, which begs the question: What are you going to do about it?
Join in as Longbranch Community Church celebrates Resurrection Day with a several handfuls of new visitors, Ms. Barbara’s beautiful piano accompaniment, wonderful old hymns, gorgeous hand bells, a new church commitment, and afterwards, a refreshingly brisk baptism in the chilly waters of the Puget Sound.
Today’s celebration was special. It was a remarkable combination of beautiful tradition, clear biblical teaching, bare knuckle honesty, gorgeous music, and heartfelt fellowship. Don’t forget Daniel White’s baptism; it added so much to the day.
*Our worship today was preceded by Ms. Barbara’s phenomenal piano. Our official start time is at the 6 minute mark. For those in a hurry, today’s sermon, titled “Simply Unbelievable” begins at 37 minutes / 26 seconds. Daniel’s baptism begins at 1 hour / 30 minutes / 04 seconds.

"Very Different Plans", (Jeremiah 29:8-32), 2023-03-19, Longbranch Community Church
Sooo, so many points to make about today’s sermon. Let’s start here: Scripture wasn’t written “to” you, it was written “for” you; and it was written that we might have hope – and a sure & righteous future. The question is: Are you willing to forego vending machine theology and today’s typical fast-food approach to faith? Are you willing to wait, …and to be faithful? There is never a time to relax God’s standards. If you truly do have a righteous hope, God definitely has a plan for your life. Listen in, and learn; hopefully, you’ll figure things out before experiencing an exile like the people in Jeremiah’s day.

"Head-to-Head", (Jeremiah Chapter 28), 2023-02-26, Longbranch Community Church
So, what do you do when you have two men, (…prophets even), both of which are claiming to speak for God, each saying different things? Well, that’s a fair question indeed. We face a similar challenge these days with major denominational differences on issues with the gravest possible consequences. Do both speak for God? Who’s right, and how do you tell?
Join in as Pastor John Day unpacks Jeremiah Chapter 28 where we see two men professing two vastly different messages – both claiming to speak for God. As per usual, Pastor John remained true to his calling; and might even have stepped on a few toes in the process. Training tip: “That’s why we attend Longbranch Community Church”. This my friends… is where you hear the entire counsel of God – not just what is socially acceptable!
