Over Night Wet Weather Survival - with IslandJason
Join me as I explain why I chose the spot I did, how I constructed an improvised shelter, collected dry tinder in the rainforest, fed myself and then nearly burnt myself. It's an interesting video, as I problem solve my way through an uncomfortable environment, and ultimately turn it into a comfortable one. Sorry about a bit of foul language and thanks for watching! If the video seems to be low quality, make sure to increase the resolution as this was all filmed at 60FPS FHD.

Fire Starter Challenge - Char Cloth vs Waxed Cotton
I have been wanting to try these ideas out for sometime. I am convinced that, while both do work, the Waxed Cotton is superior. Mainly due to its water resistance, but also the 100 second burn time would be much better in a survival scenario. Thanks for watching.

Be a human.
Short timeout to take in some sunshine. Cool Black Bear Den at 0:56:00. I wanted to have some breakfast on the river, picked up a cheap steak on the way out. Nothing else but my Ferrorod, pocket knife, hatchet, handsaw, Nalgene bottle, an old gas receipt and a roll of bank line. Leave a comment if you've ever cooked a steak on a rock before.

Building an Amos Chair
I saw this chair a few months back when I was watching 30 Day Survival Challenge: Vancouver Island - THE MOVIE ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfBxHDKTFCs&t=1s ) and I wanted to try and recreate it in my backyard. It worked out ok.

Get them familiar with different gear
Its important to allow our children the priviledge of a broad range of skills. Fishing is up there with fire building and shelter construction.

Lessons for little ones.
We always try to leave the area better than we found it, and often we are rewarded for it.
