The Freedom Convoy leaders in Ottawa hold a press conference in the wake of Prime Minister Trudeau's invocation of the Emergencies Act.

After slandering the peaceful protestors at the Freedom Convoy to stoke further fear and division among the rest of Canadian citizenry, he does two things: He incites other citizens to “speak out” and “condemn” whatever behaviour was falsely attributed to the protestors; then he flees to an unknown location to let the chips fall where they may. It’s like an army general sending his troops to attack a village of unarmed civilians, while he himself runs to hide. This is cowardice at its lowest.

The day before, on January 10, an urgent appeal was made by three of the veterans to all retired military personnel, to join them in solidarity in this support.

At a press conference on Friday, February 4, Ottawa Chief of Police Peter Sloly declared they would prosecute any of his officers caught in the "facilitation of food, water, fuel, logistics, or funding" to the Freedom Convoy effort. This, despite the fact that Ottawa had an almost 90% drop in crime the past week since the Convoy arrived (https://westernstandardonline.com/2022/02/street-crime-drops-in-ottawa-during-freedom-convoy/), shows that Chief Sloly is NOT interested in the safety and welfare of Ottawa residents because, instead of being grateful, he is determined to push the protesters and their supporters into a corner of deprivation and frustration.
