Ukraine's energy infrastructure has been targeted in a wave of Russian attacks in recent weeks, which authorities saying the country's power supply has been cut by a third. But Scott Stones of British haulage firm Waites and Stones Ltd wants to provide a vital lifeline and is preparing to travel from England to Ukraine with supplies. Girl allegedly locked away for seven years by family in Germany - BBC News Authorities in Germany have launched an investigation after an eight-year-old girl's mother and grandparents allegedly locked her away for seven years. During that time, prosecutors believe she had no contact with another person, never went to school, and never spent time outdoors. She was freed from the house in Attendorn, in western Germany, at the end of September and is now in foster care. There's no evidence that she was physically abused or malnourished, prosecutors say. Welfare officials say she struggles with everyday tasks like climbing the stairs, while German reports say she had never seen a forest or a meadow. Investigators in the South Korean capital of Seoul have raided 55 offices as they continue to search for answers after the deadly Halloween crush. The crowd crush in Seoul's nightlife district of Itaewon on 29 October killed 156 people and injured another 196. South Koreans have been calling for justice, with thousands turning up for vigils and protests held across the capital following the crush.
