"Maverick" Matt Le Tissier: Football, Faith, and the Fight for Good
Rev with a difference Jamie Franklin sits down with Premier League and all-round legend Matthew Le Tissier.
They spoke about Matt's life, his career as a top football professional with Southampton and England and his subsequent life as a pundit, after-dinner speaker, and very good golf player. They also covered Matt's decision to air his views on the Covid situation, his sacking by Sky Sports, and his inside take on what Premier League players really think about the politicisation of football. They touched on Matt's recently found Christian faith and where this fits into what he sees as a societal and cosmic battle between good and evil.
In Rev'd Jamie's monologue, he provides a Christian interpretation of recents events in the US and the CofE's latest 'guidance' on teaching transgender ideology in their schools, and he answers a couple of emails on how Christians should engage under the new Labour regime and the thorny question of hell.

A Pale Dawn
Church of England revs with a difference Jamie Franklin and Daniel French sit down to talk about the biggest stories in church and state, this time paying special attention to Labour's win in the General Election. We discuss:
The post-election mood: how are things different from the last Labour turnaround in '97 and is the most underwhelming general election ever?
How should Christians respond to a change in their overlords?
Kier Starmer's "historic" speech following the Labour victory, apparently written by the Archbishop of Canterbury's speechwriter. Was it any good?
In other news, the Church of England General Synod votes to approve same-sex blessings (sort of).
Synod also passes a motion to affirm the dignity of unborn babies with disabilities. But does this go far enough in the abortion debate?

The End is Nigh!
Church of England revs with a difference Daniel French, Jamie Franklin and Thomas Pelham sit down on the eve of the UK General Election to talk about the biggest issues in church and state. We round up the important last-minute stories and make our predictions for the big day.
Also on the agenda, the Church of England's General Synod is back and so is the question of same-sex blessings. The widely supported Alliance group is threatening to create a parallel province. Several bishops have written an open letter pleading for a change of course. And the liberalising Bishop of Oxford has also hit back. We discuss all the central issues and controversies.
Finally, an interview with Charles Wide K.C. on a recent letter sent to the Church Times protesting the use of £100 million (rising to £1 billion somehow) of the Church Commissioner's money to repay the Church's ostensible involvement in, and profiting from, the Transatlantic slave trade.

Trash the Tories?
Revs with a difference Jamie Franklin and Daniel French sit down to talk about the biggest issue in church and state. This time:
The UK Election continues in much the same way as Tories slip behind Reform in some polls. Are we now voting for the next opposition?
Reform UK's "contract" with the British people.
Rishi Sunak says he is not in principle opposed to euthanasia.
The trouble with "Political Christianity" and our thoughts about "hoping" that Christianity might be true.
All that and much much more as ever.

We Will Leave Them On The Beaches
Church of England revs with a difference Jamie Franklin and Tom Pelham sit down to talk about the biggest stories in church and state. This time:
A major screw-up in the election campaign for Rishi Sunak as he leaves D-Day celebrations early and gets pilloried for it.
Nigel Farage is attacked with rubble.
An analysis of the Tory and Lib Dem manifestos.
And we debate the biggest question of all (sort of): what are you going to do with your vote?
All that, a bit on the vandalism of the King's portrait, President Bukele of El Salvador, the death of German Protestant theologian Jurgen Moltmann, and much much more!

And Trump is convicted in controversial circumstances. (Aren't they always?)

Decolonising the Primates
Church of England revs with a difference Daniel French and Jamie Franklin are back to talk about the biggest issues in church and state. This time:
Is the decline of Christianity linked to the decline of Englishness?
Anglican primates attempt to decolonise the Anglican Communion apparently by giving the Archbishop of Canterbury more power than before. We ask what is the issue behind the issue.
And we check in with Russell Brand to find out how his first week being a Christian has gone.

Saint Dawkins
Church of England revs with a difference Jamie Franklin, Thomas Pelham, and Daniel French sit down to talk about the most prevalent issues in church and state. This time:
- The NHS warns us not to eat all our Easter eggs at once. How would we cope without them?
- It's Transgender Day of Visibility or, as it used to be called, Easter Sunday.
- Richard Dawkins says that he likes Christianity after all.
- Matthew Parris says that forcing people to be euthanised would be a healthy development for society.
That and much, much more as ever. Enjoy!

Based Feminist: Louise Perry
Church of England revs with a difference Thomas Pelham and Jamie Franklin sit down to talk with journalist and author of The Case Against the Sexual Revolution Louise Perry.
In a wide-ranging conversation, Louise shares about her motivations in writing the book, her increasing openness and sympathy toward the Christian outlook on family, motherhood, and sexual relationships, the challenges to contemporary society posed by pornography, the advent of increasingly sophisticated Artificial Intelligence, and low-birth rates. She also talks about the reliance of the secular culture on Christian ideas and why the Church of England is getting it so badly wrong. That and much, much more as always.

Deconstructing Whiteness
Church of England revs with a difference Daniel French and Jamie Franklin sit down to discuss the big talking points in church and state. This time: the Church of England is hiring a Deconstructing Whiteness officer. The role can be yours alongside a salary of 36k. In other CofE news, a billion pounds is going to be raised by the Church Commissioners to repay the descendants of African slaves and the report recommending this also suggests an apology for displacing "traditional African religion". We ask if this is all really an appropriate use of the Church of England's assets and what it reveals about its underlying motivations and theology.
In civic news, Rishi Sunak has given a bizarre speech in which he reveals something of his own personal political theology. Rev Jamie responds.
That and much much more as ever!

Woker Face
Church of England vicars with a difference Daniel French, Thomas Pelham, and Jamie Franklin sit down to talk about the most important issues in church and state. This time, we have a special conversation about the Church of England's most recent General Synod in which the Bishop of Dover said that every parish in the CofE should draw up a "race action plan" and that we should be more woke than we already are. In other news, an amendment to a motion concerning the controversial Living in Love and Faith process claiming that there exist people who do not agree to agreeing to disagree is rejected for somewhat obscure reasons. We ask the important questions: Does racism really exist in the Church of England? If it does, what legitimate means should the Church take to address it? Should vicars and, indeed the Church, be political in nature, or spiritual, or both?
This, and much much more as ever. We hope you enjoy.

Cringe Line
Church of England revs with a difference, Jamie Franklin and Tom Pelham sit down to talk about the most significant happenings in church and state. This time:
- Across the pond, for a look at how American evangelicalism is taking entertainment in church much farther than Canterbury Cathedral.
- In the UK, Sadiq Khan goes all in for woke rebranding of Overground Line.
- And in the Church of England, permission denied to St Nicholas's Church to use the pride flag as an altar frontal.
That, and a bit more as ever. Enjoy!

Canterbury Fails
Church of England revs with a difference Jamie Franklin, Thomas Pelham, and Daniel French get together to review this week's biggest talking points. This time:
- The Canterbury Cathedral rave in the nave causes widespread outrage, plus an interview with the counter-nave, prayer-protest organiser, plus what else is Canterbury Cathedral up to these days?
- The plot thickens at General Synod as bishops are said to have been less than honest with their deliberations over gay blessings.
- parkrun becomes the most recent formerly fun thing to be ruined by transgender ideology.
- And an email from an anonymous source reveals the very disturbing incursion of critical theory into the Church of England's safeguarding training.

Mysterious Mass Conversions
Church of England revs with a difference Tom Pelham, Jamie Franklin, and Daniel French unite once again to talk about the big stories happening in church and state. This time:
- WWIII, conscription, and why is Tucker Carlson interviewing Vladimir Putin?
- The Popular Conservative Conference as Jacob Rees-Mogg and Lewis Goodall go head-to-head.
- The cancer diagnosis of King Charles III.
- Asylum seeker and ostensible Christian convert Abdul Ezidi maims mother and two children in corrosive acid attack, and the church's involvement in facilitating bogus asylum claims.
- Outrage as interim theological advisor to the Living in Love and Faith process is revealed to be an orthodox Christian who believes in his own Church's formularies.
That, a quick-fire Question the Rev, and much more as ever.
