16. International #LegaliseIt Series - Third Eye - Baptiste Lec - France:Thailand
In this Talk I speak with Baptiste one half of Third Eye Cannabinoids CBD brand but also an incredibly knowledgeable Frenchman who has been to the fore of French Legislation.
The talk took place on the Day after Bastille Day and we dig down as to what is happening in France and his hopes and thoughts for the bigger European picture.
He also comes live from Thailand!!! where he was actively offering consultation to the fledgling industry there which had recently fully legalised.
The Sound is as good as we could get and I hope you will enjoy...
I first met Baptiste and Leo the two very affable young Frenchmen behind the wonderful CBD brand that is 'Third Eye Cannabinoids' at the World CBD Awards in 2022, in Barcelona.
I often struggle at conferences, museums, etc as they are usually spread out over large areas with a lot of walking involved!
Also these types of events is still really the best opportunities to meet a lot of the industry in a single weekend.
The two boys recognized this and called me over to their stand to try some of their vape that they were showcasing at the fair along with the complete product range of their company.
They suggested to take a good hit off the vape and come back in 10 mins to give some feedback.
I duly obliged and was really surprised first with the smoothness of the vape and could really feel in the first 5 mins so much lighter on my feet. It was very striking to me.
After a quick chat the 2 explained to me their experience of working directly with many patients in France suffering a myriad of conditions.
Over the next 2 days of conference I got to know the boys very well and I was really struck by how much they cared about their brand and products.
So it came as no surprise really that on the Sunday Award Ceremony they came away with the prize for Best Vape!!

17. ICC International - Graham De Barra - HelpNotHarm Portugal/Thailand
This is an incredibly enlightening conversation with Human Rights lawyer Graham De Barra an incredibly well traveled leading light of Irish Cannabis Activism.
Currently based in Portugal where he has been in touch with the 'Portuguese Model' and few in Ireland will know it better. This legislative model has been much discussed in the recent Irish Citizens Assembly on Drug Use and this conversation goes a long way to giving a real understanding about what it means.
Graham holds a LL.M in international human rights law and a B.A in philosophy/ psychology and he was awarded a full academic scholarship to complete the Drug Policy & Human course at Central European University.
During his studies, Graham founded Ireland's first Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) society, promoting drug education, first in UCC in 2011 and then in NUI Galway in 2013.
In 2016 Graham chaired the largest medical cannabis conference held in the European Parliament which featured medical practitioners, industry and governments & also hosted the Global Medical Cannabis conference in Dublin in the same year which was a catalyst to Ireland's subsequent regulatory approval and import of cannabis-based medicines by Ministerial exemption which developed the Medical Cannabis Access Program.
Since 2020 Graham has been involved in conservation efforts for certain plant species in the Azores.

15. Cannabis DeStygmatised - Irish Cannabis Party - John O' Regan
In John's own words...
After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering, in 1985 John moved to Holland to work for Philips.
Over the next 4 years he regularly smoked cannabis that I bought in the local coffee shops and enjoyed it as freely as I did the local beers.
I only came across cocaine once (in a night club) and no other illegal drugs whatsoever.
After leaving Philips I got a job with Western Digital in Cork and went out one night looking for cannabis. I was given directions to a dealer and also scored LSD for the first time.
Next morning I went to a public park where I met a bunch of young teenagers who pointed to the guy I was looking for.
I bought a "deal" from him and over the following year I came across a lot of other drugs besides cannabis.
I moved to Kilkee in 2015 and less than a month later was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver.
The gards investigated and several months later called to my flat to tell me due to lack of evidence they were dropping the case. They smelled cannabis so next day they showed up with a search warrant and so began my career as a criminal!!
I've been searched many times since, been convicted a few times (most recently at Ennis Circuit Court) and unless the law is changed, I'll probably end up in prison someday.
John is a wonderful peaceful human but in small town Ireland looking how he looks with and his open-ness about his activism it has made him a very easy target for the local Gardai
He has sought to set up an Irish Cannabis Party and a Kilkee Social club and is regularly to be seen cycling around Kilkee proudly wearing his activism.
I really enjoyed his articulate reflections on the different experiences between Holland and Ireland and sadly how certain people can be persecuted under Ireland's prohibition.
John is one of the voices not getting a proper representation in the Citizens Assembly the guy who just enjoys Cannabis and the culture around it.
He continues to live under the shadow of his suspended sentences...

Me, My MS and I - International MS Day 2023 - Check In with Gratitude!!
This is just a Quick (for Me!!!) clip for the day that’s in it sending all my thoughts and amour to all my fellow MSers out there.
Basically I am feeling so grateful to have myself totally reconnected with the centre CEMCAT and eminent Professor Xavi Montalban who first diagnosed me which feels like `another world right now!
But feeling nothing only gratitude for the really intensive 3 day a week neuro-rehabilitation programme that has me effectively hidden until the end of August.
This kind of rehabilitation is so important involving really specific physio exercises psychological help as I still have my PPMS lesions that is a constant cognitive challenge.
I live by the mantra left to me by the Great Dr Fedorenko in Moscow just keep EXERCISING with GOOD FOOD and most importantly GOOD MOOD!!!
Big shout out to all my friends in the North West therapy Centre in Sligo who looked after me so well while I am in Ireland...
So nothing only grateful for all the people who have helped keep me healthy as possible!
If you know anyone suffering from this horrible disease please send them good vibes and love and understanding because depending where you are at with the disease every day can be a profound challenge!
Big love to all you MSers!!!

10. Healthcare Demystified - MS Week Special - HSCT Warriors - Mark Gilligan
Development continues with progressive forms of MS and new solutions have and more undoubtedly will appear in time but with a progressive illness... time is truly precious!!!
In this talk almost 6 years post Stephen's transplant he reflects with fellow entertainment Industry producer and good friend Mark Gilligan who by now is 3 years post his transplant both STILL showing remarkable results.
Mark had long before also suffered the massive shock that is an MS diagnosis.
He battled with RRMS (Relapsing Remitting MS) since 2003 and after 14 years the disease transitioned to 'Secondary Progressive '(SPMS) and he subsequently lost the entire left hand side of his body. That is the nature of the illness!
A musician by trade it meant catastrophically the end of being able to play guitar, saxophone, tin whistle, and the rest for this renowned multi instrumentalist.
The shock of this downward spiral, his own separate research and lack of any alternatives brought him in contact with HSCT.
Fate had put these two Irish diaspora figures together and by 2016 Stephen had with other Irish MSers found their way to the top of the Pirogov waiting list. It was 3 years when he joined but time passed the list moved and the first Irish patient would go for HSCT in Moscow in June that year.
Later as more people appeared usually via their fundraising efforts we became known to eachother. So at the end of 2016 I created a Facebook Group called 'Irish HSCT' consisting of 9 pioneering Irish patients.
We proceeded to go one by one to the Pirogov Hospital in Moscow for a transplant with the world famous Dr. Fedorenko!
Each member of the group were able to help the next one along and share their experience of what was involved in the process.
It is a journey that moves through fundraising to tips for the actual process inside the hospital.
Mark brought his amazing creativity to his campaign inspired by 2 now sadly passed legends of Irish music, known all over the world Shay Healy and Ronnie Drew no less wrote a song called "The Lodger Inside of Me!"
In this week of focus on all things MS, that affects over 2 million people worldwide so profoundly, I felt this chat could offer some hope and maybe even guidance from 2 proven 'HSCT Warriors'.
This treatment is not for everyone, it has a very low mortality rate but it exists...
It is tough on the body, involves a lot of chemotherapy and in the case of Moscow a 30 day stay.
As mentioned in the Talk 'The damage Done is still the damage done' but for these two music men they got back enough to pronounce the treatment as life changing in the most positive way!
Have a listen and as ever please share and subscribe and hit the bell and help us make the channel better!
