Lockdown Boredom - Bored cat annoys his sister in order to force her to play with him.
Indy, the White british shorthair cat is bored during the coronavirus lockdown in the United Kingdom. So this usually gentle, calm and kind cat, decides to amuse himself by trying to annoy his sister Dixie.
He starts by giving her a quick poke at which she chirps back to signal her annoyance; then he has another swipe to try and convince her that she does want to play really. She glares back at him, he has been warned! He yawns...she’s such a bore! Third time lucky he thinks...but Dixie has had enough! Good, Now she’s playing along!
Just the reaction he wanted all along!
Brother and sister relationships...whether animal or human they are just the same! This is a total recreation of my own childhood with my own big brother!

Hilarious! Smart speaker gives unexpected response when I ask it to speak to my cats.
Hilarious! Smart speaker gives unexpected response when I ask it to speak to my cats.
Today I decided to set up the smart speaker device my brother had bought me for Christmas. I had no idea why I would need this device for anything practical so being one of those crazy cat ladies, naturally I wanted it to be of some use to them. Perhaps it would talk to them? The plan being maybe it would entertain them at certain times.
Well, while this experiment did not go quite as expected, it did turn out to be very entertaining and amusing! The problem is I have a regional accent from Yorkshire in the North of England and Alexa did have some problems understanding this!
I have to say I still don’t know what practical use this device is going to be to me, but I did enjoy a good laugh finding out what it’s probably not to be used for!

Surprise! “Furrocious” British Shorthair Kitten playing with huge ball!
“ I am Kitten, hear me ROAR” There is a famous phrase “ inside every kitten beats the heart of a lion” This “furrocious” ball playing cat is my pedigree British Shorthair cat, Indy. I’m quite sure he would refer to me as “his human”. People who live with domestic cats often say that their cats have trained them, rather than the other way around. It’s seems this is true as DNA studies show that house.cats are almost identical to their wild counterparts physically and genetically. They have lived with humans for almost ten thousand years, befriending us while never being under our control. The British Shorthair cat is believed to be the pedigree version of the domestic cats imported into Britain by the invading Romans in the 1st century AD. Indy lives a safe, protected life of complete luxury that his wild ancestors could only have dreamed of. He sleeps on or in any bed he wants, those designed for cats and those designed for humans; he has 4 luxury meals provided each day, some cooked to order by me, his human. and a warm safe house to command from the top of his cat tree, usually while in a catnip induced stupor. I am only too happy to be his servant!

Meow, Myself and I - Vain Cat Constantly Watches Herself on TV!
Help! My cat is a self-obsessed TV addict! Part of the ‘Me me me meow’ generation.
The evidence is right here in the video...she is every cat you see here!
In this age of technology and social media it’s not only humans who can become a bit self-obsessed and self-centred. Even my British shorthair cat Dixie is not immune to the lure of this recent obsession.
In the old days a kitten would be happy for a piece of string or a screwed up paper ball flicked across the room. The cats I had in the previous 30 years would have been shocked to see the luxurious lives of the kittens of today who take for granted the modern conveniences like an iPad, and their own Instagram account and personal media manager thrown in as a bonus. Yes, cats today don’t have time to chase birds, they are fame-hungry little divas who practically force their human servants to capture their every cute move or look for posterity.
And what’s made this situation even worse is a few views of my cat Dixie’s video have really gone to her head! (Search “kitten meets her own reflection for the first time’ on Rumble to see what I mean).
Where is all this leading? Well, I’ll leave you to ponder that. Right now I have to get the vacuum out and remove all those screwed up paper balls from under the sofa myself.
Meanwhile I urge you NOT to watch this video...she does not need the encouragement! 😉
