Dr. Stanley Rodriguez on The Greater Good with Jeff Wohler
Dr. Stanley Ralph Rodriguez is from the Santa Ysabel Band of the Iipay Nation, and a Tribal Councilman for the Nation, Director of Kumeyaay Community College, member for Advocates for Indigenous California Language Survival, and a U.S. Navy Desert Storm Veteran. Dr. Rodriguez teaches at Kumeyaay Community College, Cuyamaca Community College, and adjunct faculty at California State University San Marcos.
Dr. Rodriguez is dedicated to educating indigenous communities and is a committed mentor to the native peoples of the region and one of 33 remaining Kumeyaay language speakers. He teaches Kumeyaay history, culture, and language revitalization and is an advocate for cultural preservation.

Jennifer Bennie is a Navy Veteran and a Penn State Graduate for a Naval ROTC scholarship. She was commissioned into the US Navy upon her graduation in December of 1999. Bennie then reported to Pensacola for Naval Flight School where she received her Naval Aviator Wings 3 days after 9/11, on September 14, 2001. Her first duty stations were out of San Diego flying the SH-60 Bravo Seahawk Helicopter, with HSL-49 Red Scorpions on board the USS Howard (DDG-83), and the USS Jarrett (FFG-33). Then she was the Mini Boss on the USS Tarawa (LHA-1). She completed 2 deployments to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom from 2003 to 2006.

The Walk with History YouTube channel started in March of 2021 and was born out of the desire to share history and to educate people on how it still impacts us today. Jennifer’s lifelong interest in history and Scott’s desire to tell stories through video, resulted the fast-growing Walk with History YouTube community and budding Talk with History podcast. Together, they visit historic locations with their family, share history with the world, and educate you on why a seemingly small event is still so significant.
