· YL appears to be retired for YT prefix effective today. Message prefixes are rotated in this fashion about every 30~40 days; it doesn't quite line up with calendar months.
· It is not out of the question that YL prefixes could show up again and have an awkward sort of concurrent existence with YT for another 10-15 days, but I would feel comfortable betting against it.

· As much traffic as you might expect on a holiday. The T5 message is interesting in a sense of "oh, hey. looks like some real stuff might've gone on today."
· Rumors are about about a dire escalation in the Ukrainian special military operation; Ukraine and Russia are accusing each other of planning a malicious attack against the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant. Will the situation make HFGCS traffic go up this week?

· A single message went out on this Sunday. (Is this weird? A little bit, but it's the Sunday before a federal holiday Tuesday. I was basically expecting it.)

· Friday rounds out a slow week overall. Will next week be busy to compensate? Normally I'd guess yes, but with the federal holiday on July 4th, I think it's entirely possible traffic remains slow until next Wednesday, July 5th.

· 19 messages probably won't be enough to bolster this week's final message count from being lower than normal, but it can be observed that there were more T5 messages broadcast than YL messages.
· NEET Intelligence suspects T5 messages correspond to EAMs and YL messages to FDMs, so it suggests today's messages were of overall higher consequence (and/or importance and/or priority).

· Following a slow Tuesday, such few messages as this on a Wednesday suggests one should expect the rest of the week to also be fairly slow. However, with a new calendar month coming up, you could expect next week to be busy? (On the other hand, the July 4th federal holiday could dampen traffic.)

· 11 messages. Busy Tuesdays tend to set the tone for the rest of the week, but a quiet one like today defers to Wednesday. If Wednesday also ends up quiet, expect slow week. If Wednesday is busy, it'll likely remain at that pace going into the weekend.

· 17 messages (+2 disregards). In terms of message frequency for a Monday, it's pretty typical. 17 messages is maybe only slightly above average for a Monday, and would actually be pretty slow for a Tuesday or most other days of the week.
· 18:39 message notable for introducing a new prefix – W5. Too early to tell, but it could be a replacement for the T5 prefix, or else one of many temporary prefixes that come and go without affecting use of the more long-term use prefixes.

Today was notable for an alleged ‘mutiny’ by the Wagner Group against the Russian government, which turned out to be nothing (sorry fukuyamabros, history continues); no significant HFGCS traffic was noted at the time. The HFGCS can and often does slow down over the weekend, so this lack of traffic doesn't necessarily stick out as conspicuous in and of itself.

The Adventures of the ASOS Brigade – 2007 Series – reupload (see description)
https://web.archive.org/web/20070101232949/http://www.asosbrigade.com/
https://web.archive.org/web/20070604120310/myspace.com/asosbrigade
Something worth documenting. The ASOS Brigade videos were uploaded to asosbrigade.com and also made available to torrent on various anime-associated sites in an attempt to encourage the people who'd normally torrent fansubbed anime to consider purchasing licensed dubs/subs – appeals were made along a variety of lines to encourage "downloaders/bootleggers who never buy the official DVDs" to become "fansub lovers who [also] buy the official DVDs and help support more creative works."
This video series and/or individual episodes gets reuploaded by someone to YouTube every few years and so far they've all been taken down (whether due to copyright strikes or otherwise, I don't know, but the bookmarks stop working). This is an edited reupload of a so-far successful reupload of the entire series, which I've done for a few reasons;
· Redundancy in reuploads hopefully means one or the other sticks around longer.
· The other reupload has included the "second series" of ASOS Brigade videos, which I have deliberately removed here. Not only does this have the benefit of making this reupload less likely to be taken down as the copyright holders seem far more aggressively protective of that series, the second series is rather awful. While it's informative in many ways – the 2007 series, as weird as it is, seems to represent _successfully_ expanding a fan/audience base while doing so in a controlled manner (i.e. successful gatekeeping), whereas the 2010 series seems completely uninterested in any sort of organization, serving merely as a platform for less clued-in newer fans to be catered to (i.e. systemic failure in gatekeeping) – this channel is not in the habit of preserving art and decadent trash in the same bucket.
· I have messed with audio levels a bit. The live action sequences have been normalized to 0 dB max peak, and the pseudo-OP/EDs have been normalized to a -10 dB max peak. I don't know much about sound mastering, and cannot justify this change on a technical level – this has been done to suit my personal preferences. I am aware of the drawbacks but don't particularly care, and those bothered are invited to do their own uploads/reuploads that undo this.
· Note that I have elected against uploading these episodes separately – in the case of what we might call a "hostile" copyright strike against this being reuploaded, copyright strikes are processed by number of uploads vs being processed as instances with a video – i.e. if I were to upload the episodes individually, each video could end up having having its own copyright strike and this channel would be taken down. Uploading them as an entire uniform video file means a maximum of 1 (one) copyright strike would be processed, which on its own does not jeopardize the channel.

US Emergency Action Messages (EAMs) / FDMs – February 25 2023 – callsign RHYTHMIC
These are recordings of Emergency Action Messages. They are transmissions sent out across the High Frequency Global Communications System (HF-GCS), which is used by the US military to communicate with various assets, including nuclear-capable aircraft and submarines.
"The HF-GCS is used by the United States Air Force to send instructions for their operations through messages, and most commonly send Emergency Action Messages (EAMs). The HF-GCS is not exclusive to the USAF, and is used by other countries too, but not as often. They also send higher priority messages known as “Skyking Messages” which will even be read over-top and interrupt an EAM to be read. Both of these messages are time sensitive and are read live in NATO Phonetic letters. The primary HF-GCS frequency is 11175 kHz, and it transmits 24/7 on that frequency as well as 8992 kHz. The HF-GCS also transmits on 4724, 6712 (Croughton), 6739, 13200, and 15016 during their scheduled times, which is still most of the day." - https://www.numbers-stations.com/usa/hfgcs/

US Emergency Action Messages – February 21 2023 – callsign VALHALLA
February 21, 2023 was the one year anniversary of Russia's recognition of the Donetsk People's Republic and Lugansk People's Republic. In Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a roughly two hour state of the union-style speech at 09.00 UTC (give or take a few hours). This was a speech mostly focused on Russian domestic concerns – economic, stratgegic, etc. – but did contain portions in which he reflected on the situation which led to formal Russia recognition of these breakaway ex-Ukrainian oblasts as independent republics, the the ensuing war, its greater geopolitical significance, and future outlook/consequences of this still-ongoing confrontation.
Many western observers expected this speech to take on a more bellicose tone than it ultimately ended up taking. Along similar lines, though many people were anticipating a flurry of EAMs (and/or FDMs) on this date, message traffic continues to be fairly sparse. For comparison, you may want to look through my video of messages broadcast on February 20, 21, and 22 of 2022; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01yZ7UiIvRc
