The band was formed by guitarist Jason Daunt in 1996. After a string of rough independent recordings in the 1990s, the band signed to Republic and Universal Music Group and released two major label albums, Through the Eyes in 2001 and Endangered Species in 2004. Breakups, line-up changes, and internal strife plagued the band for the rest of the decade, though from 2015 to 2017, the band reformed with three of their core members to tour and write music. The band released their third studio album, Divided We Fall, in 2016, and a fourth studio album, Vol IV: Because of the Brave in 2019. An album of cover songs, Revival, was later released in 2022. The band's lineup frequently shifts; lead vocalist Chris Volz is the only constant member. In November 2017, Daunt announced that he was again leaving the band he had originally founded, citing Volz's drinking and behavior, which he felt was creating too much turnover in band and touring membership, a claim Volz denied.[49] Daunt announced he was starting a new band, "Scars of the Unbroken", with prior Flaw members Jurhs, Gibbons and Sturgill, while Volz announced he had begun writing material for a future Flaw album to be released in 2018.[49] Vol IV: Because of the Brave was released on July 19, 2019. However, the band would later be accused of plagiarism by YouTube musician Douglas Patrick claiming that the band stole his "music melody and structure" from one of his instrumental tracks to use for the song "Wake Up" which is featured in the album and threatened to pursue legal action against the band.[55][56] Volz would later respond to the allegations, claiming that he was unaware of the plagiarism, stating that he only writes lyrics to the music the rest of the band present to him and that it was the work of another member of the band that he didn't name at the time who "royally screwed up" before claiming that he was "upset" over the matter and had reached out to Patrick to offer compensation.[57][58][59] However, more songs on the album were discovered to have allegedly been lifted from other YouTubers including Patrick. It was also discovered that the music for the song "Conquer This Climb" was purchased by the band from another metal YouTuber known as Riff Master T.[60][61][62][63] In October 2019, bassist Tommy Gibbons admitted that he was the one responsible for the plagiarism after an old social media post from back in August revealed that he was bragging when YouTube metal musicians were learning to play a song that he claimed to have written which would later be discovered to have been stolen directly from Patrick. In a statement that he posted on social media, Gibbons stated that he takes "full and all" responsibility for his actions and that none of the other band members were involved in the plagiarism.[64] On October 6, 2019, Volz announced on social media that the band have parted ways with Gibbons.[65] On January 11, 2020, Joshua Skellett and Ethan York (formerly of Cold) joined Flaw as new bassist and drummer. Georges departed the band to focus on his MMA career. In March 2021, multiple publications reported that Volz had repeatedly used racial slurs at a concert, leading to him being dropped by the record label that distributes his side project and solo albums. Since its formation, the band has released 12 studio albums, 3 extended plays, 1 live extended play, and 1 compilation album. Disciple was formed in December 1992 by high school friends Kevin Young, Brad Noah, Adrian DiTommasi and Tim Barrett. The band played its first show in May 1993 at Topside Church of God in Louisville, TN and recorded its first three-song demo at Nightsong Studios with Producer Jesse Jones. Adrian DiTommasi left the band shortly after that for personal reasons, and Kevin Young would eventually take over the bass guitar duties. He started the siblings playing music, drove them to their lessons and also started the band.[6] Circa June 2022 they have produced two albums.[5] During the COVID epidemic, they moved their base from Los Angeles to Atlanta. They were a common sight performing at the Santa Monica Pier for several years while building their fan base. The band's lineup—consisting of lead vocalist Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz—has remained unchanged throughout their history, along with their approach to songwriting, which consists of Lindemann writing and singing the lyrics over instrumental pieces the rest of the band has completed beforehand. The critical success of the album Shotgun Willie (1973), combined with the critical and commercial success of Red Headed Stranger (1975) and Stardust (1978), made Nelson one of the most recognized artists in country music. He was one of the main figures of outlaw country, a subgenre of country music that developed in the late 1960s as a reaction to the conservative restrictions of the Nashville sound. Nelson has acted in over 30 films, co-authored several books, and has been involved in activism for the use of biofuels and the legalization of marijuana. Born during the Great Depression and raised by his grandparents, Nelson wrote his first song at age seven and joined his first band at ten. During high school, he toured locally with the Bohemian Polka as their lead singer and guitar player. After graduating from high school in 1950, he joined the U.S. Air Force but was later discharged due to back problems. After his return, Nelson attended Baylor University for two years but dropped out because he was succeeding in music. He worked as a disc jockey at radio stations in his native Texas, and in several radio stations in the Pacific Northwest, all the while working as a singer and songwriter throughout the late 1950s. During that time, he wrote songs that would become country standards, including "Funny How Time Slips Away", "Hello Walls", "Pretty Paper", and "Crazy". In 1960 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and later signed a publishing contract with Pamper Music which allowed him to join Ray Price's band as a bassist. In 1962, he recorded his first album, ...And Then I Wrote. Due to this success, Nelson signed in 1964 with RCA Victor and joined the Grand Ole Opry the following year. After mid-chart hits in the late 1960s and the early 1970s, Nelson grew weary of the corporate Nashville music scene, and in 1972 he moved to Austin, Texas. The ongoing music scene of Austin motivated Nelson to return to performing, appearing frequently at the Armadillo World Headquarters. 2020s Following the U.S. coronavirus pandemic lockdowns that began in March 2020, Nelson livestreamed a series of benefit concerts. With over 120 million organic streams on Facebook alone, Claudia’s fingerprint voice and musical palette evokes nostalgic feelings through the gift of modern story or can bring on some dusty edge with her sultry country soul. She first gained recognition in 2017 when an unmixed demo of her song "No Matter What it Costs” found its way to local country radio and was added to the playlist after listener response. That single string of events built Hoyser’s confidence in being accepted into country music circles. Prior to the 2020 shutdowns, Claudia performed 168 shows in 2019 including opening for Easton Corbin, Cassadee Pope, Chase Rice, Carly Pearce, Pam Tillis, Lorrie Morgan, Lauren Alaina, Caylee Hammack and Sister Hazel. Claudia is the epitome of a working musician; she built a loyal fanbase garnering an average of 800,000 weekly viewers hosting 126 episodes of her Facebook music series Hoyser Country Monday. She hid a vintage Moka pot in every video which eventually led to the creation of her own Coffee and Whiskey Brand. Static played in the band in the late 1980s with future Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan. However, when the Smashing Pumpkins began to gain popularity, Corgan made the choice to commit all of his attention to The Smashing Pumpkins, and the band eventually disbanded. Static and Ken Jay later moved to Los Angeles to start a new band with guitarist Emerson Swinford, whom they had met through their mutual friend, Chicago singer-songwriter, PJ Olsson. They formed a band called Drill, which included Tony Campos on bass and started performing in the LA music scene. After Swinford left to pursue touring and session work, they recruited guitarist Koichi Fukuda, and renamed the band Static; however, during the recording of their debut album in 1998, they realized there were multiple other bands named Static, and subsequently renamed the band to Static-X. In 2012, Wayne Static decided to reform Static-X, but none of the original members would join him. Instead his solo band would tour under the name Static-X. In June 2013, Static announced Static-X's official break-up. Static blamed it on a disagreement with Campos over the rights of the band; citing that Campos was paid by Wayne for the use of the name while touring, but during that tour, Wayne took ill; in a 2019 post, former tour manager Eric Dinkelmann claimed, however, that the illness was just an official cover and the real reason for the tour cancellation was "a drug bust", which Campos would later also allude to. Static ended the band soon afterwards. Despite breaking up the band, Static still performed the band's music under his own name and solo band in 2014, most notably playing the Wisconsin Death Trip album in its entirety to celebrate the album's fifteenth anniversary. Reunion and Project: Regeneration Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 (2018–present) On October 23, 2018, original members Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda and Ken Jay revealed plans for Static-X to reunite and to release a new album in 2019 called Project Regeneration, which would include previously unreleased tracks with Wayne Static's vocals and guest vocals by David Draiman, Ivan Moody, Dez Fafara, Burton C. Bell, Al Jourgensen, Edsel Dope and others. The band also embarked on a worldwide tour in 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album Wisconsin Death Trip as well as a memorial to Wayne Static, featuring an unidentified vocalist named "Xer0" wearing a mask some confused to be that of Wayne Static. This decision received mixed feedback, with some journalists calling it a "creepy Wayne Static cosplay" and "zombie Wayne Static". The band insisted that Static's family gave the band their blessing,and Jay noted that it fit Static's "terrifically morbid sense of humour". Xer0's identity has never been officially revealed, speculation has generally pointed at Dope singer Edsel Dope, though Edsel himself has denied this. The mask was made by Laney Chantal, wife of Twiggy Ramirez. On February 6, 2020, the band released the first new song from their forthcoming and renamed album Project: Regeneration Vol. 1 titled "Hollow (Project Regeneration)". and announced that Project Regeneration would now consist of two volumes, both with at least 10 songs, all of them with vocals by Wayne Static. The album was slated to be released May 15, 2020, but was eventually pushed to be released on July 10, 2020 due to the manufacturing delays associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The band resumed work on Volume 2 shortly after the release of the first volume. On August 22, 2021, Campos stated that the band is currently working on Project: Regeneration Vol. 2, which will also consist of recovered material, as well as entirely new songs.
