So many techs HATE flat rate. I think when properly managed it can be a great system of pay. But we need to put how we feel about flat rate away, because managing time and money is VITAL. This might be the most important skill techs are not taught. Today we pull the engine and transmission on the R32. Because the car has 200k plus miles, I want to take the engine out of the car, clean the engine bay, and do an engine teardown. One of the main reasons I got this car so cheap was the issues the front suspension was having. Noises, creaking, grinding from the suspension were all issues on the R32. This is the ultimate how to guide for installing a new radio in your car. Today we are upgrading the Tape and CD player in the R32 to a touch screen radio with CarPlay and Android Auto. Today we add another R32 to the fleet. This is a 2004 R32, MK4 generation. I am pretty sure it was the cheapest R32 in the US. The car needs some work. WAS THERE BOTTOM END DAMAGE? You guys asked about block, piston, connecting rod damage after the catastrophic engine damage. This MK7 VW GTI engine suffered severe engine damage due to an improper down shift. The GTI was turned stage 2 with supporting modifications. This VW GTI engine suffered severe engine damage due to an improper down shift. The GTI was turned stage 2 with supporting modifications. The car was shifted from third gear to second gear at an extremely high RPM. This lead to severe top end engine damage, and engine replacement.
