The MK8 Golf R and MK8 GTI didn't come with power fold mirrors in the USA. In this video we install power fold mirrors, and code the power fold mirrors to the car. In this video we complete the R32 engine rebuild. This is a vr6 engine rebuild with a head gasket spacer to add boost. The R32 will get an HPA Turbo kit with a target of 500WHP. In this video we will properly install timing chains on a VR6 engine with a 5mm head gasket spacer. This spacer is meant to drop compression down for turbo application. Installing the spacer is easy. Timing the engine however can be tricky, and is a little more difficult than a stock R32 VR6 engine. This really applies to any 24v VR6 engines with a spacer that requires a 1 link longer chain. Today we tear down a VW W8 engine. The W8 engine is 2 VR4 engines in a V. Similar to the W12, Turbo W12 and W16 engines. Putting together an engine block means installing pistons, a crank shaft, and bearings. Today we will also be installing new piston rings, and all new bearings on the bottom end of a VR6 engine. If your VW doesn't have heat, or AC, odds are the foam on the blend doors has come off. I will show you how to fix the blend doors WITH OUT REMOVING THE BOX. You can finally get heat and AC back. I have tested several methods of doing this blend door repairs. This method is the one I find to be the best balance of time, work, and getting the repair done. Today we will be removing the rear subframe, rear control arms, rear differential, Haldex unit, and more on the R32. The metal parts are rusted and look awful. The bushings are worn, and we may install a limited slip for the diff. In this video we walk step by step on how to remove the whole rear end and strip it down for powder coat. In the shop we have a 2004 R32 Vr6 TURBO that will not start. This is a modified VW R32 with about 180,000 miles. It was towed in for a crank but no start.
