2022, we launched our mega Moon rocket for the
first time - sending the uncrewed Orion spacecraft
around the Moon, we kicked off a new era in
astronomy with record-breaking new imagery from the
Webb Space Telescope, we moved an asteroid in
humanity's first ever planetary defense demonstration
and much more. Here's a look back at those and other
things we did, this year @NASA!

Artemis I Path to the Pad: Launch and Recovery
On Nov. 16, 2022, NASA made history with the launch
of our Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion
spacecraft - our newest transportation system that
will return humans to the Moon. Relive the powerful
moment SLS rumbled away from Earth, beginning
Orion's three-week test flight around the Moon, and
watch as we document Orion's splashdown in the
Pacific Ocean, closing the first chapter in America's
next deep space exploration story

NASA's Jonny Kim and Anita Dey sit down with
historian Brian Odom to discuss how NASA is making
the Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific
Islander community visible to the world, Kim's
experience with the space program growing up, and
the impact of cultural stereotypes

Honoring the 50th Anniversary of NASA's Skylab: America's First Space Station
America's first space station and the first crewed
research laboratory in space, Skylab, lifted off on May
14, 1973.
Skylab helped pave the way for permanent operations
in low-Earth orbit. Over the course of its human
occupation from May 25, 1973, to Feb. 8, 1974, three
crews visited Skylab, carrying out 270 scientific and
technical investigations in astronauts' physiological
responses to long-duration space flight, Earth
sciences, solar physics, and astronomy.
The research conducted on Skylab helped prepare
NASA for living and working in space on the
International Space Station, and our journey to the
Moon, Mars, and beyond

International Space Station: Off the Earth, for the Earth, and Beyond. - Nasa
In 1998, assembly began in space on a satellite that
would be second in size and radiance only to the
Moon..NASA's International Space Station
Completed in the 21st Century, the International
Space Station's role in the development of your future
as well as that of the United States space program is
enormous. Many things learned in space are already
benefiting life right here on Earth. Ultimately this
satellite will be the springboard enabling nations
around the world to prepare to take the next giant leap
past our Moon and into the Solar System. Today
NASA and the International Space Station invite you to
join us for the first opportunity in history to participate
in the academic challenges and commercial
opportunities available as NASA travels beyond Earth

NASA's Next-Generation Spacesuits - A Behind-The-Scenes Look - Nasa
#CNBC
NASA has been using the current spacesuits on the
International Space Station for decades and they are
showing their age. The agency has had issues not
only with finding the proper sizes to fit its increasingly
diverse astronaut corps, but also with degradation of
some suit components. Now NASA is turning to two
commercial companies: Axiom Space and Collins
Aerospace, a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies, to
build and maintain its new generation of spacesuits
Under the Exploration Extravehicular Activity Services
Contract, or xEVAS, NASA is providing Collins and
Axiom, along with a number of their industry partners,
with up to $3.5 billon through 2034. CNBC got a
behind-the-scenes look at the new suit that Collins
Aerospace is designing in collaboration with partners
ILC Dover and Oceaneering. NASA hopes to use this
new suit on the International Space Station by 2026

I Jumped From Space (World Record Supersonic Freefall)-redbull
What does it *really* feel like to jump from space? In
2012 Felix Baumgartner took a helium balloon into the
stratosphere and skydived back to earth in a specially
made space suit. Whilst in freefall he broke the speed
of sound and entered a spin which threatened the
entire Red Bull Stratos mission... Felix reflects on his
achievement and shares what it really felt like to jump
from the edge of space
