This was our best metal detecting field this year! So far it is our best metal detecting finds of 2021! We were searching for an Andrew Jackson War of 1812 site, but accidentally found an old silver coin and Civil War relics! There was an old grave hidden behind this house that we found while metal detecting for old coins. Our History Seekers Team was invited to use our metal detectors to unlock the historical secrets of this home that had been owned by the family for five generations. This is our secret guide to cleaning American Civil War Bullets without losing the patina! These are all bullets that were buried and found using metal detectors by the History Seekers team. It can be hard to find "sudsy ammonia" which is a brand name. It is easily made by mixing the following together. If you make it yourself BE SURE to be in a well-ventilated area!!! NEVER mix ammonia with other chemicals (especially bleach as it creates deadly chlorine gas☠️☠️). This is just how we clean them. Otherwise, try hardware shops and places that sell industrial cleaners. You will probably want to buy the smallest possible bottle since you won't need a lot. 2. Use rubber gloves and goggles - ammonia can burn skin and eyes. 3. Be sure to make your mixture in a well-ventilated area. 4. Do NOT lean over the bottles while you are pouring. 5. Organize this task so that you will be pouring over a sink just in case there is any dripping. 6. Use a 12 oz. plastic bottle spray bottle. These are widely available in grocery stores, chain stores, and hardware stores. Basic safety rules say never reuse old commercial cleaner bottles. Old labels or color schemes can be confusing, and new bottles are inexpensive. 7. First Fill the bottle with tap water. Always add ammonia to water, not the other way around 8. Pour out a third of a cup of water from the bottle to make room for the ammonia. 9. With a funnel, pour about a third of a cup of ammonia into the bottle. 10. Add a squirt of dishwashing liquid. 11. Close the bottle tightly. 12. Shake gently. 13. Write "Soapy Ammonia" on the bottle with the indelible marker. 14. Write "Danger: Do not mix with Bleach" 15. Write "POISON" and keep the mixture, and the bottle of ammonia out of children's reach. 16. We found LOST graves using GPR! (Ground Penetrating Radar) the church dated to the American Revolution and was burned by the British near Charleston, SC. We are flagging graves found during our search with the GPR. Hopefully, with this tool and genealogy, some unmarked graves in this cemetery/graveyard can be identified and properly marked. We found an underground crypt in the old graveyard that was OPEN! The sign said KEEP OUT! We were exploring the old cemetery when we made the discovery. This gives people a rare look at how underground crypts were arranged and built. The cemetery dates back to the 1850s as far as we can tell but was part of a plantation as early as 1820. We could feel the damp draft coming from inside the spooky old crypt which made the hair on the back of our neck raise a bit. Unfortunately, the video is short because we were there just before dark and had to leave. We traveled 1,200 miles to go metal detecting in New Hampshire! We were in search of colonial coins and relics. We found relics, copper coins, and even silver coins! We found SILVER in a Spanish American War Camp while metal detecting for relics! During this trip to the Spanish American War camp that we have metal detected multiple times in the past, we found yet another silver coin there as well as military relics and other items. We are metal detecting a forgotten wagon road we found that dates back to the 1800s! Heath Jones from the History Seekers took his Minelab Equinox 800 metal detector into the woods of Alabama where he located a silver coin, civil war relic, and other forgotten relics from the past. In this video, a BIG SILVER coin pocket spill is found while metal detecting this historic girl scout camp dating back to the 1940s in Iowa. This was the FIRST time anyone has been allowed to metal detect this site! It is rare to find a never dug site! We were attending the Detecting the Heartland group hunt in September 2020 along with other YouTubers like Darnell Hello World William, Across the Plains Metal Detecting, and Crazy Spider Adventures. This metal detecting hunt was part of the natural hunt on the property which covered 200 acres. Several silver coins, silver, rings, relics, silver jewelry, silver rings, and other jewelry were found by metal detectorists. The history Seekers Team was invited to attend the event and will have more videos about a treasure hunt in the future. This is the historic last Civil War Funeral of Confederate Lt Andrew Jackson Buttram. This is part II of a 2 part series. The Soldier's Body Recovered in Yard is believed to be the last confederate lost in battle. This is about the recovery of Lt. Andrew Jackson Buttram, CSA, from the American Civil War. The battle/skirmish happened in Munford, Alabama on April 23, 1865, and his body was recovered on February 26, 2020. Some of his family members were present when the body was recovered and the Son's of Confederate Veterans (SCV) Post 454 have been instrumental in working with local officials to have the soldier properly buried with honors. The soldier was buried in uniform and several buttons and his boots were also recovered as well as the round believed to have ended his life. It was determined conclusively that the round ball found in his body was fired from a cannon that could have only come from friendly fire. Lt. Andrew Jackson Buttram, The Last Confederate Casualty in the War Between the States: In April 1865, the South was just about overrun. Still, brave defenders stood up to the invader and defended their country, their states, and their communities. Lt. Andrew Jackson Buttram, the defender of Munford, was one such man. Lt. Buttram and a contingent of 150 citizens, invalids, and home guards faced a battle-hardened Union troops numbering approximately 1500. The defenders didn't have much hope but stand they did! During the short battle, Lt. Buttram and two Union soldiers lost their lives. It is not known how many were wounded. After the war, the Union soldiers were disinterred and carried home. Lt. Buttram remained in his wartime grave. The Town of Munford and the Samuel C. Kelly SCV Camp 454, worked together to finally give Lt. Buttram the funeral he deserves. The University of Alabama Archaeology Department disinterred Lt. Buttram from his unmarked grave and he was given a full Confederate Military Funeral when he is reburied at the foot of the monument honoring his sacrifice.
