Daddy-O Northern Cardinal part 2
Happy Happy Happy Daddy-O he is very appreciative of the easy meal it’s so cool to have Back Yard birds that interact with you and essentially talk to you in their own way such an interesting male before he ever ate at the seed bowls he would watch the females that come here from afar he did this for a couple of months before he actually ate at the seed bowls and the first time he was so nervous now he tells me he’s hungry and would I mind this takes time and patience but is so rewarding We Love our Feathered Neighbors

# Back Yard Birds Hawai’i Red Whiskered Bulbuls at the Grapes
So many of these guys are coming to get the grapes the last couple of weeks it seems that the food supply must be tight right now but that’s why I feed the Neighborhood Back Yard Birds just to enjoy watching them

# Back Yard Birds Hawai’i Common Minah
This is some of the many Common Minah’s that just love Grapes once they figured out what grapes are since no one grows any nearby these birds are so intelligent and amazing problem solvers I try to find places to tie up the grapes to see if I can make them last longer as these birds eat a lot but they always seem to problem solve it’s a blast watching them figure out how to access the grapes

One of the Several Northern Cardinal Females
This gal is quite colorful as compared to the other females she’s also very comfortable getting close to us we can’t quite get why the Northern Cardinals are so easy going and seem to really place a lot of trust in us

#Back Yard Birds Hawai’i Saffron Finch / Canary & Babies
Today is the day that Mom and Dad Saffron Finch’s are no longer feeding their Baby’s they are still squawking to be fed but then get pushed away in a couple days they will get run outta here and we won’t see them again although the last of their offspring tried for several days to eat at the seed bowls every time I tried to feed him / her Mom and Dad would swoop in and chase their own Baby’s away

Babies are really Hungry Today as we were out
They are so happy we are back home it appears the most mature offspring has been kicked out of the nest it’s a brutal process kinda sad to watch it seems so mean

Babies the Canaries bring all 3 offspring
Babies have all 3 of their baby’s with them this morning and it appears that all of the baby’s can eat seeds on their own well sorta but they are certainly learning and so quickly

#Back Yard Birds Hawai’i Female Cardinal newcomer
This youngster is a relative newcomer to our yard she is very vocal and makes a lot of noise when she shows up maybe from watching the bird called Sister as I put out these seed bowls for the species I’ve chosen to feed (all except Doves because of the mess) but then eats in silence it’s interesting how each has such a distinct personality

# Back Yard Birds Hawai’i
Our Little Buddies we named “Babies” these 2 have a chirp letting us know they are here and Hungry they are Saffron Finch’s and are also one of the birds named as a Canary while on occasion they will visit alone these 2 are almost always together its interesting that many of our Feathered Friends are mated for life with these 2 it’s quite obvious they are a bit skittish when compared to the Northern Cardinal but still are only 4-5 feet away from us when I feed them

#Back Yard Birds Hawai’i Mejiro and Red Whiskered Bulbuls
Our Fruit Eating Feathered Friends prefer Green Grapes over Red Grapes but the Red Grapes stay on the vine much better these are all birds that live fairly close to our yard and they do challenge outsiders protecting our yard as their own food source we only have pet names for the Northern Cardinals and Canaries both of these breeds call us for their food it’s a lot of fun to have gotten to this point that the birds actually call us with very specific chirps asking to be fed and if they aren’t around all we have to do is call their pet names and they come dive bombing our Plumeria Tree to see what we are up to and if we’re gonna offer them the seed bowls it was an evolutionary process but it’s been a lot of entertainment

#Back Yard Birds Hawai’i Japanese White Eye (Mejiro)
Japanese White Eyes love fruits but Grapes seem to be a favorite they also like Mangoes but Grapes are easy to wire tie to the Plumeria Tree such tiny little birds yet on the rare occasion that they sing their voice is loud and clear

# Back Yard Birds Hawai’i Daddy-O our Male Northern Cardinal Friend
Daddy-O he’s a very intelligent bird for several weeks he watched from a distance how we feed the other birds before he ventured to the bowls himself in this case the saffron Finch’s made a bit of a mess and scattered the seeds onto the ground and Daddy-O is cleaning up the mess

#Back Yard Birds Hawai’i “Chirpy Girl”
This Female Northern Cardinal is Momma2’s daughter we call her “Chirpy Girl” as she’s very vocal when she wants the seed bowls notice her tail feathers they have a nice red tinge to them
And when she flies under her wings is a beautiful red I like to say she’s the one ready to go out as it’s like she’s got all the makeup on a Stunningly Beautiful Girl

#Back Yard Birds Hawai’i Mejiro or Japanese White Eye
These little guys are so acrobatic and fast yet always have to wait in line for the larger Birds to eat first it’s why I place some grapes in the potted Hibiscus on small branches so the smaller birds can get to them in peace
