Just SW of Ely, Nevada, Linda and I were following an ancient Native American Indian trail to see where it might lead to. We love to look for Indian habitation sites, arrowheads, petroglyphs and other interesting signs of history and we were doing so in a thick pinion pine and cedar forest. We were having a great hike when a man seemed to spot us and stopped his truck, got out and entered the woods, coming in our direction. What started out as a nice ebike ride along the Missouri river turned into a painful survival experience when I hurt my knee in a remote area and was unable to peddle back home. Luckily, I was on an ebike and had just enough battery power to make it back because I was unable to pedal. It it was touch and go and the meter was on empty when I finally reached my car. We had a major problem finding a place to disperse camp this past summer! Too many people taking advantage of the system and making it very hard for others. How do you know if it's OK to disperse camp and how do you choose a dispersed camping spot? Traveling National Forest and Bureau Of Land Management, or BLM land it can be challenging finding a place to camp these days! After being stuck with a bad transmission for a week it was really great to get out on the road again, so we went to Cheyenne, Wyoming to see what that town had to offer. It was nice! We got to see the Big Boy Steam Engine #4004 in Holiday Park as well as the Cheyenne Depot Museum which was fantastic. Historic downtown Cheyenne is also very interesting with it's original buildings and western feel, you need to take the time to see it for yourself. There's also the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum which we didn't have time to visit, but maybe next time!
