Puppy Training Tip
Puppy training tip of the day: use those puzzle toys and have your puppy work for his food. It gives you a break and helps him learn to self-entertain in a healthy way and also helps to expend some of his energy.
Train. Don’t complain.

Teaching Your Puppy to Relax
Puppies have a lot of energy. They’re happy to explore the world and experience everything new. However, it is up to you to teach them when and where that exuberance is acceptable. One of the most important parts of training that is often overlooked in puppy training is how to relax and experience the world in a calmer way. Setting the pace while he is young helps to establish a well-adjusted adult dog who is fun to be around.
Teaching this is simple. In a calm way, simply reward the pup when he is relaxed. Here you can see that Bounder is chillin on the deck with me and I calmly drop a treat between his paws.
That’s it.
Now obviously you will want to spend a lot of time relaxing with your pup. The more time you put in, the better results you’ll have.
The next time your pup is running wild and getting into everything, ask yourself how much time you’ve spent teaching him to relax.
Train. Don’t complain.

Remy Helps Train Puppy Bounder
It’s always fun to incorporate all of the dogs into puppy training.
Bounder is just learning STAY.
Emma is assisting by practicing her STAY next to him.
Remy is proud to help by acting as a distraction.
People think that dog training is harder with multiple dogs but if you’ve trained the others well, you can use them to assist and things move along at a rapid pace.
Train. Don’t complain.

Puppy Training Tip
Bounder learned how to SIT today. Always teach the pup an alternate behavior to deter unwanted behaviors. Here, Bounder was jumping up as I was sitting, which I’d prefer he didn’t do. It may be cute now but as an adult dog, is behavior would be obnoxious… especially to guests. By simply telling him to SIT, he will learn that this is the preferred behavior in this situation. Praise and affection are the result.
Good boy, Bounder!
