Project Preludes Door Paint Does Not Go As Planned
On this episode of FTP Speed Shop we attempted to get the doors and deck lid painted on Project Prelude. But we run into some issues with weird body lines and things not looking right. We end up having to go back to high build primer to try and straighten the doors out. WHAT A MESS!!

Replacing The Oil Pump Pickup Tube O-Ring On a 2011 Suburban
On this episode of FTP Speed Shop we try and solve the problem of random Zero oil pressure on our 2011 Suburban gauge. We start by pulling the oil pan off and replacing the oil pump pickup tube o-ring. We get that all put back together and take it for a 20 min test drive and the gauge still drops the oil pressure down to 25 psi and randomly falls to zero at idle. So back to the garage to pull the oil pressure sending unit and install a manual gauge, and that is when we find out the sensor had failed after only 7 months and was allowing oil to pass through the sensor in to the wiring plug/clip. We replaced the sensor and the oil pressure has been perfect ever since.

Making Wooden Car Stands & Metal Hub Stands
On this episode of FTP Speed Shop we make both wooden car stands "Wheel Blocks" and metal hub stands “Robot Legs” to support the cars while we are working on them. Super easy projects that do not cost much money to complete, hell if you are willing to dumpster dive on a construction site the wood could be free! I think I am really going to like the metal hub stands AKA Robot Legs because they lift the car up about 10”-12” and they open up the entire wheel well!

Going For A Spring Cruise
On this episode of FTP Speed Shop We take a bit of time off to go out and enjoy the cars we have built and hit the highway. I always seem to forget the joy I get from driving the things I build. I get so wrapped up in the day to day and the next “project at hand” that I skip the good things that come from the wonderful car community. Sometime we need to take a step back and look at all of the amazing people we know in this “car community” and just have fun. The firewall can wait, the engine miss can wait, the little rust bubble can wait. Let’s stop putting off the things we love for the stuff that doesn’t really matter. At the end of the day the only reason I love and am into cars is because of the people.
Today we saw a facebook post that said "who wants to go cruise?" The wife said I’ll drive my truck! We were in the middle of working on Zachs blower motor and planning on doing ball joints. I said everyone is going on a cruise we should go! So we skipped finishing the project and had a blast doing it with some of the best friends I know……(not all included haha)
And this is what cars are all about the people, the people you meet and the people we spend our lives with. I thank god that I am a car guy BECAUSE CAR PEOPLE ARE THE BEST PEOPLE!!!

How To Replace The Pedal Stop Blocks on a Bobcat 743B Quick Tech
On this episode of FTP Speed Shop Quick Tech we replace the pedal stop blocks on a 743B Bobcat. They are really easy to replace but when we got ready to install the new ones we found there wasn’t much information out there on how to. So we grabbed the GoPro and recorded us figuring it out. The main reason we replaced these blocks is because they had wore so far down that the pedals would stay locked and were “sticking” or hard to engage. Sorry for the sound quality there were 50 plus MPH wind gusts the day we did this.

H23 Vtec Stage 3 Intake Port Part 2
On this episode of FTP Speed Shop we finish up with the stage 3 port on the H23a/H22 intake. We open up the throttle body area up to 70mm and hack out the IACV passage ways, we also get the 3 butterfly spacers welded together by our buddy Taz. We deleted the IACV by taping the intake with a 3/8” NPT plug and tapped the lower intake to block the EGR passage coming from the head. No one like to smell their farts WHY SHOUD YOUR ENGINE???? Like all good projects nothing goes as planned and we ported through the side of the upper plenum and had to drill a broken stud out!
