WASHINGTON — Dr. Anthony Fauci defended his decision-making during the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday, testifying before Congress about his work on the virus as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during two presidencies.

The New York Stock Exchange said Monday that a technical issue that halted trading for some major stocks and caused Berkshire Hathaway to be down 99.97% has been resolved. In an update, NYSE said impacted stocks have reopened and “all systems are currently operational.” Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of NYSE, has found no indication the glitch was caused by a cyberattack.

One of Sonoma State’s most celebrated athletes, Larry Allen, died on Sunday, June 2. He was 52. No cause of death has been given.. Allen was the first student-athlete in the history of SSU football to be drafted into the National Football League when he was picked by the Cowboys in 1994. He played for the Cowboys from 1994 to 2005, winning a Super Bowl in 1995. He was named to the Pro Bowl 11 times and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013. Though he spent his final two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, he officially retired from the Cowboys.His name is enshrined in the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor at AT&T (formerly Cowboys) Stadium. In 2019, Allen was named to the NFL's top-100 list, which ranked the best players in league history.
