Exulansic Reacts to Dagny "Nex" Benedict Case
Was this child beaten to death in a bathroom for being non-binary? The truth seems a bit murkier.
Disclaimer/Disclosure: This is my opinion as a lay person with some medical understanding. My relevant qualification here is that I have been through several CPR/First Aid trainings and am a licensed speech-language pathologist. We sometimes provide breath support training, which involves identifying respiratory effort and efficiency, and have education in the components of the respiratory mechanism. I have also been in this situation personally, where a teenager keeled over and went into decorticate posturing and agonal breathing, turning gray with rolled-back eyes. Because of my training, it took me a very short period of time to determine CPR was warranted. Once a life-sustaining pattern was restored, the child was able to maintain it, and so he survived the experience. I really cannot understand Grandma Sue’s choices. The benefit of the doubt says she is not baking with a full pan. The 911 operator should be held accountable, and the facility’s training procedures should be reviewed.

Folk Etymology: Dreadlocks
This is not gender critical content. I am responding to a folk etymology claim I see floating around about the origin of the term 'dreadlocks.' Folk etymology is essentually an urban legend about a word's origin which is repeated because it communicates social messages but is not actually rooted in reality. I originally published this last year but it never made it onto some of my platforms, it seems.

Check Out My Channel on Feminuremberg.com
This video contains a paid promotion.
www.feminuremberg.com is a video hosting platform specifically for gender critical and feminist women like me who have a tendency to get censored on other platforms for the content of our videos, even when the videos otherwise are in full compliance with the letter of the community guidelines. We are often banned without warning or strikes even when platforms such as youtube have procedures in place for warnings and strikes and even though male creators typically get far more chances than female creators, being given warnings, strikes, and demonetization prior to being banned. Youtube banned me without striking my channel or demonetizing me. There was no lead up to it, because I am a woman. So I am glad that Feminuremberg has given me assurances that my content is safe on this platform which exists for us to have our own virtual space. Feminuremberg has made some upgrades since I last promoted it, increasing the maximum upload size to 500mb and adding forum and direct messaging features.

Superiority Complex 3: Dad's Carving the Turkey
In this video, I continue my response to the situation presented by Samantha Lux, a transgender youtuber who reports that a tracheal shave left him with symptoms of dysphonia and dysphagia. I find the premise of this surgery to be unbelievably foolish, for all but obvious deformities impacting function prior to surgery. The surgeon acknowledges drawing on experience with nosejobs, and the nose is far more forgiving when it comes to function in the case of loss of iatrogenic loss of sensation and structural stability. It is largely decorative - especially mine, which is 3D printed, held in place with magnets, and actually detaches at night to go in the dishwasher.
A second corrective surgery offered only partial relief. In this installment, I discuss my theory as to why this sort of surgery may have the physical potential to impair higher pitches especially, and get out ye olde dusty guitar as a demonstration. Then I watch a tracheal shave surgery that I found on youtube and offer commentary. I was surprised that this instructional video did not remind the viewer to take care to locate and avoid the superior branch of the laryngeal nerve, which innervates one of the stabilizing muscles of the larynx.
The voice is a musical instrument. It is also a structure that evolved to have sufficient strength to allow a person to grunt. Grunting requires inhaling, which extends muscles to their proper length, increasing their potential force applied, and then ‘bearing down,’ or appling force to this pocket of air you have now trapped inside of you via your voice. As a lapsed lifter, living in sin against Brodin, I understand how much power this dime-sized (or in the case of men, nickel-sized) structure can secure for my posterity during a deadlift. Form follows function.
To go in and physically alter the shape, thickness, and materials composition of the larynx in order to achieve a cosmetic result seems as destined to alter the timbre and range of the voice as shaving the stem of a guitar or reshaping a horn or turning a snare drum concave would all affect the sound possibilities that instrument is then capable of - and likely, not in a way that increases variety, precision, and control.
