THERE is only one Gospel—only one true message of good news from heaven. But there are many substitutes offered in place of the Gospel. It was so in the beginning. It is so now. The apostle Paul wrote to the Galatians: "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel; which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." (Galatians1:6-9) THESE are intensely solemn words. They come bubbling up from the steaming heart of the indignant apostle in righteous wrath as he learns of pretentious carnal legalists deliberately seeking to mislead eternally-bound souls with a false message which could only, like a will-o-the-wisp, lead to ruin and destruction at last. He would have us know it is a fearfully wicked thing to trifle with the sacred heaven - sent message that has come to a needy world declaring the grace of God to poor lost sinners. WHAT then is this Gospel of which the apostle was so jealous? He tells us plainly in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, "... I declare unto you the gospel... how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." Note carefully: The Gospel is God's wonderful story of His beloved Son. It is a message of grace to be received in faith. It is not a code of laws to be obeyed or good advice to be followed. It is not a system of ritual observances or a call to submit to certain ordinances. It does not set forth the claims of any human church organization, however venerable, nor does it exhort men to seek after experiences, however remarkable, though a blessed experience follows its acceptance. It simply sets forth Christ crucified and risen as the Savior of all who believe in Him. WHEN THE MORMON elder comes declaring that an angel revealed a gospel of salvation through a restored church and renewed ordinances, he is preaching another gospel, and angel and man are alike under the curse. WHEN THE LEGALIST comes insisting that salvation is by obedience to God's holy law (which in itself is just and good), he is preaching another gospel, for the Word of God declares, "By the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified in His sight." WHEN THE REVIVALIST comes promising salvation to those "who make a full surrender" of all that they have to God, and who "pay the price of full salvation," he is preaching another gospel, for the price was paid on Calvary's cross and the work that saves is finished. It was Christ Jesus who made the full surrender, when He yielded Himself unto death for us that we might be redeemed from the curse of the broken law and forever saved from the judgment to come upon all who refuse His grace. WHEN THE MODERNIST prates in glowing terms and honeyed phrases of salvation by character, salvation by altruism, salvation by ethical culture, he, too is proclaiming another gospel, for if character could have saved, Christ need not have died; if altruism would have fitted sinful men for heaven, the Lord Jesus would surely have told us so; if ethical culture could deliver from the wrath of God, what place would Gethsemane, Calvary and the Empty Tomb have in the Divine economy? WHEN THE CHRISTIAN SCIENTIST (falsely so-called) denies the reality of sin, disease and death and lulls sinners to sleep by telling them that "God is all and all is God," even going so far as to declare the death of Christ was unreal, and His resurrection simply spiritual, and that the blood of Jesus was no more efficacious to cleanse from sins when shed upon the accursed tree than when it was flowing in His veins, he, or she, is promulgating another gospel, which is not another, for it is a baseless dream, a weird and blasphemous "error of mortal mind" that will leave its votaries at last without God and without hope. THE SOLEMN FACT IS THERE IS NO OTHER GOSPEL. Every pretended substitute is but a Satan-devised delusion meant to turn men away from the strait gate which alone leads into the narrow way, and make them contented as they crowd down the clear side of the broad way to eternal perdition. BEFORE there can really be another gospel there must be another savior and another Holy Spirit, and this can never be. Nor is any other gospel needed, for the grand old Gospel of the grace of God is all-sufficient to save "whosoever will," and has demonstrated its power throughout the centuries by transforming lost miserable sinners into happy joyous saints. Paul says, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith" (Romans 1:16,17). THE Gospel needs only to be preached in the power of the Holy Spirit to hold its own against every imitation and substitute that the mind of the natural man energized by Satan can devise. Like the Bible itself it is divinely inspired and, therefore, preeminently fitted for the needs of mankind... It convinces the mind and satisfies the heart, if men but take the place of repentant sinners and accept it by faith. It is the dynamic of God unto the deliverance of all who believe it. To refuse it is to be lost. To receive its message is to be saved. IT reveals the righteousness of God, making known how He "can be just and the justifier of him that believeth in Jesus." Satan's false gospels all pretend to show how man can establish his own righteousness. The Gospel of Christ comes to unrighteous men and tells them of a righteousness that is divine which is imputed to all who believe. ANOTHER gospel—whatever its outward form—will always be found to center in something that man can be or do in order to obtain merit. The Gospel of God declares what Christ has done in order that the salvation purchased may be justly offered to sinners. ANOTHER gospel presupposes some strength, some ability to please God, in the natural man. God's Gospel declares that when "we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." ANOTHER gospel will land you in hell! God's Gospel, believed, will bring you safe to heaven. TURNING from every false hope, I beseech my unsaved reader to rest in what Scripture declares concerning Christ, and thus be able to sing in faith: "Upon a life I did not live, Upon a death I did not die, Another's life, Another's death I hang my whole eternity. None will ever be confounded who put their trust in Him." "And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me." -Matthew 14:29,30 It is to our loss as believers, that so oftentimes we forget the simplest teachings of the Scriptures. Peter was able to walk on the water by faith, until he took his eyes off Jesus, looking at the storm's tempest instead. What a truth! So often we take our eyes off the Lord, because of troublesome co-workers, marital difficulties, rude people, unfair situations, life's problems, et cetera. The lesson is simple—keep your eyes on the Lord and you won't go under! When we find our self in these situations-frustrated, discouraged, and angry because of people—we need to focus our eyes once again upon the Word of God, i.e., the Lord Jesus Christ. It is quite easy to lose sight of one's Christian beliefs, when overshadowed with adversity and grief. It can be overwhelming at times. People can be so cruel. 2nd Timothy 3:1 warned us that "perilous times" would come, when people would be... lovers of their own selves. The majority of Americans today have become selfish, self-conscious, and self-centered. Sadly, America's Christians aren't much better. The Biblical account of Peter walking on the water to Jesus, is one of the first lessons which Sunday School children should learn, and a lesson which every adult Christian should never lose sight of. When we focus our thoughts upon the divine Truths of God's Word, we are able to withstand the attacks of Satan (Ephesians 6:13)... we are able to expose Satan's works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11)... we are able to look beyond the flesh and see the demonic spiritual forces at work (Ephesians 6:12). The Bible will keep us from sin, or sin will keep us from the Bible. In this dark midnight hour of apostasy, the need is great for God's children to shine as lights in this sinful world. If not us, who? If not here, where? If not now, when? The voice of the church is being drowned in ecumenical apostasy. Stand up, stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the cross; Lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss; From victory unto victory, His army shall He lead; 'Til every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed. What will the burdens of this present life matter 100 years from now? What will today's frustrations, and the things that so often rob us of our joy, matter 100 years from now? They won't. All that will matter then is whether a person died in the Lord (i.e., a born-again Christian), or tragically in their sins. All that will matter then for the believer, is what we did for the Lord with our life, whether we obeyed the Word of God or not (Mark 10:29,30). Life is so short... "As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more" (Psalm 103:15-16). The people who persecute us, and try to ruin our day, can't take away our happiness in Heaven... "And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you" (John 16:22). So often we take our eyes off the Lord because of people. Some people are enemies of the cross of Christ, who hate us without cause... "If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you" (John 15:19). Some people are just miserable, and misery loves company. Whatever the reason, we must learn to take our eyes off people, and the circumstances, and look to Jesus Christ. When people are unforgiving, and tell us to go away, we need to place our eyes upon the Lord Jesus. When people hurt us, and become vindictive, we need to turn our eyes upon the Lord Jesus. When the burdens of this world weigh us down, and the walls feel like their fast closing in around us, we need to rest our eyes upon the Savior. Peter learned this lesson the hard way, as he was sinking into the depths of the sea; but then quickly turned his eyes once again upon the Lord. The lesson is so simple, and yet deeply profound—keep your eyes on Jesus! Peter did ok, until he took his eyes off the Lord, and instead focused upon the wind, rain, and waves. As a consequence, Peter began to sink into the deadly waves of the sea. Fortunately, Peter placed his eyes once again upon the Lord, and all was well. Life has it's many storms, and we mustn't allow ourselves to stoop to the level of carnally-minded people. We mustn't allow ourselves to place God on trial when things don't go the way we want in life. Keep your eyes on Jesus! So the next time you find yourself sinking into discouragement and/or depression, turn your eyes upon the Lord and remember that none of life's present burdens will matter 100 years from now. "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust." -Psalm 103:12-14

One of the delusions that we will clear up at the outset of this expose is the lie that leading Satanist’s do not believe in or truly worship the devil. First of all it should be understood that Anton LaVey, the founder of the Church of Satan viewed Satan as a true entity that he truly worshipped before his death. Anton LaVey deceived a lot of people who joined the Church of Satan by claiming that Satan only represented the repressed forces of nature but was not a real entity. In my interviews with former Charles Manson family member Susan Atkins, who is still in prison after being convicted of eight murders, Atkins blew the lid off of Anton’s lie. As a former associate of Anton LaVey’s, who danced for him and spent personal time with him before joining the Manson family, Atkins was privy to conversations with LaVey before he became popular. Atkins told me repeatedly that while LaVey promotes a watered down, palatable form of Satanism to the ignorant masses which he is deceiving, he acknowledged the exact opposite to her and to his inner core of Satanist in the church of Satan. Susan Atkins told me that LaVey told her emphatically while she was in his home that they truly worshipped Satan as a real entity and as the one who began the initial rebellion against God. Atkins also stated: “Anton told me that as a Satanist he does believe in the God of the Bible, but he refused to worship him, and made a conscious decision to worship Satan instead.” (Personal interview with Susan Atkins) We have pictures of Atkins with LaVey in his ritual chamber when she associated with the Church of Satan. LaVey was aware that few people were ignorant enough to truly turn their lives over to Satan, knowing that they would not only be allowing themselves to be deceived by their worst enemy but that they would spend eternity in the fiery torments of hell. LaVey therefore presented a seeker sensitive, user-friendly form of Satanism in the hope that it might appeal to the masses he was seeking to deceive. LaVey sought to put a spin on Satanism as a kinder and gentler form of Devil worship claiming that Satan merely represents a force in nature and that rather than Satanist’s sacrificing animals and little children they are animal activist who love children. All of this was done to garner unwitting recruits. For starters, one should never trust a Satanist. Satanist’s view lying to be among their highest virtues as do true Christians truth. LaVey and other Satanist serve the one who Jesus repudiated as “The father of lies”. (John 8:44) It would be just like the father of lies to cloak his religion in non-reality. Satan has long been about deception and has successfully deceived many recruits into believing that they are simply worshipping a symbol rather than a reality. Satan relishes in such ignorance. Atkins’ testimony that LaVey was deliberately duping Satanists in the outer circle is corroborated by evidence from LaVey’s own admissions. LaVey let his guard down when responding to other Satanist that considered him, “not extreme enough”. LaVey, while in a defensive mode, admitted that the image that he presented publicly was deceptive, declaring: “If they’re at all intelligent [other true Satanist] …they’ll realize that there’s only so much I can say publicly…I will not advance things in print which make my position untenable…How long would the Church of Satan have lasted if I hadn’t appeased and outraged in just the right combination? It required a certain amount of discretion and diplomacy to balance the outrage.” (Lucifer Rising, p. 133) Purposeful deception is needed among leading Satanist to enslave those who they recruit as unscrupulous and unsuspecting pawns who feel more comfortable believing Satan is a symbol for force. Few Satanists realize the evil intentions among the inner core of Satanists and how they view lower initiates as mere puppets to be used and later discarded. Those in the higher echelon of the movement are often aware of the nature of Satan and the demonic realm that they serve. Notwithstanding they are often bound and blinded on another level because they have become addicted to the power that Satan deceptively promises. Kenneth Anger, who was a cofounder of the Church of Satan with Anton LaVey, used a similar spin on Satanism, as did LaVey. Kenneth Anger stated in the 1960’s, in his film, Lucifer Rising, that, “Lucifer is the light god, not the devil,” (From the jacket of the film Lucifer Rising). This delusion that Lucifer is really the God of light and not Satan should not surprise us as God’s word warns that Satan himself “masquerades” as an “angel of light” to draw the unsuspecting into his evil web and that his agents do the same: And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15) Years later, after Kenneth Anger had deceived multitudes of people into thinking they were worshipping the supposed “light god”, an entity that was not really Satan, Anger “confessed” that Lucifer whom he worships had always been the historical “Satan.” (Lucifer Rising, p. 47) It was too late though for many Satanists who had been deceived and long before died in their sin and are in hell right now. It is too late for the multitudes that are now cursing Satan, Anton LaVey and Kenneth Anger from the place of indescribable and horrific eternal torment. It is not to late though for the reader who may have been deceived by the same lie and yet still has a small window time to turn from Satan to Christ and be saved. It appears that Marilyn Manson is merely playing the same mind game with his fans as did LaVey and Anger. Besides following LaVey who deceived his followers, Manson admitted, “I’ve taken a lot of my inspiration from Kenneth Anger.” Sadly, while the leaders among Satanists realize that Satan is for real, many who swell the ranks of their churches have been duped into believing that they are in some nature religion. They are taught that either a real Satan does not exist or that hell will not be all that hot. This of coarse is sheer non-sense! Anton LaVey himself was severely deceived as he stated in his Satanic Bible that he would reign with Satan in hell. Anton now realizes he was the most deceived of all. The Scriptures are clear that Hell was created as a place of torment for Satan and his angels. (Matt 25:40-43) Moreover God’s Word declares that Satan will be stripped of his power and rendered “weak” and “covered with worms”. Satan will be rendered one of the weakest and most pathetic beings is the universe, an object of ridicule and scorn by those who were deceived by him. Those who have been deceived by him will marvel that this once powerful fallen angel has been rendered powerless and will mock him as a “carcass trodden under foot” in their torment. (Isaiah 14:9-19) So even leaders in the church of Satan who are deceiving their initiates are themselves deceived, believing that they will have some place of power in Hell. As the apostle Paul prophesied: “Evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3:13) Richard Ramirez, known as the night Stalker, was deceived by Anton LaVey’s assertion in the satanic bible that Satanists could reign in hell. Ramirez believed that his human sacrifices to Satan would earn him a place of rulership in hell next to Jack the Ripper and other serial killers. (See our article on Ramirez) Further evidence of what leading Satanists really believe is proven by in admissions by Lieutenant Colonel Michael Aquino of the United States Army. Aquino was a leader in Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan and said to be LaVey’s “second-in-command” before he broke off to begin his own satanic order called The Temple of Set. Aquino ended up taking several of LaVey’s followers with him. The Temple of Set would eventually attract the likes of Anton LaVey’s daughter Zeena LaVey. So rabid a Satanist is Aquino that he had the number 666 tatooed on his scalp. The Temple of Set proclaims that Set, another name for Satan, is a real entity and is a name for, “The oldest known form of the Prince of Darkness.” Aquino seems to have been under the conviction that society had become so jaded that many of those in the outer circle of Satanism were ready to worship Satan as a real entity. Aquino believed it was time for Satan to come out of the closet in all of his naked deformity. Aquino even took the more up front view of Satanism to the television airways where he virtually admitted that Satan is a real entity and that many are in the dark as to whom they are really worshipping, including millions of New Agers. On Oprah Winfrey, Aquino acknowledged that they are following the infernal being that orchestrated the initial rebellion against God, the creator of the universe. Aquino admitted to Winfrey and the television audience made up of millions that they are following Satan who initiated the original rebellion against God: “We believe that this quality [to oppose God’s natural order] in the human soul that makes it different from all other life forms…was deliberately inculcated in humanity in its distant evolutionary past by an active agency that is acting in defiance of the universal norm [God’s moral law]. And that agency has been caricatured…as Lucifer, as Satan, and in the greatest antiquity by the ancient Egyptians as Set.” Aquino went on to describe how they believe that they as Satanist are now becoming god’s. This was at the heart of Satan’s initial rebellion and now Aquino was parroting the essence of Satanism, which is a desire to usurp the true and living God’s authority and follow Satan into God realization. “We are not servants of some God,” declared Aquino; “we are our own god’s!” Oprah Winfrey appeared to be shocked to find out that this was exactly what she believed as a New Ager, failing to realize that the New Age movement has it roots in Crowleyan Satanism even as Aquino’s Satanism. We have already proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Crowley was not only a confessed Satanist but that he was the father of the Hippie movement from which popular New Age teachings first became entrenched in Western civilization. (See our expose on Aleister Crowley) Almost gasping for air, Winfrey declared in response to Aquino’s assertion: “Well, the way you explain this is very the way a lot of people who are into metaphysics now and the New Age movement and New Age thinking, they say the very same thing. Are you saying that it’s the same?” Aquino, without skipping a beat, said “Yes” to Winfrey question, implying that New Agers and Satanist are on the same wave length in their rebellion against God and in their quest to achieve god-hood as they follow in Satan’s footsteps. He only clarified that most New Agers are not aware that they have joined a satanic rebellion against God and that Satanists know what’s going on. Aquino stated: “Yes, except that I would say we [Satanists] have a more precise grasp…We would say that we understand what’s actually happening a little better than many New Agers.” Much to Aquino’s chagrin the Temple of Set would find out that even as debauched as the world has become most people are still smart enough not to knowingly serve Satan and end up spending eternity in hell. After bringing Satan out of the closet The Temple of Set failed to enlist the large amount of recruits they apparently hoped for. In their failure to acquire more recruits they changed their method of evangelism and returned to a formula more in keeping with that of the Church of Satan. Today the Temple of Set like the Church of Satan espouses a more palatable seeker sensitive form of Satanism so as not to scare off potential recruits. The result is that Satan is once again cloaked in ambiguity and the song remains the same as inner circle initiates are deceiving outer circle initiates. Winfrey was surprised that Aquino as a confessed Satanist would try to deny the hard facts of the evil behind Satanism when Aquino stated that they as Satanists have “nothing to do with evil,” she said: “It’s just difficult for me to understand that the devil is a good thing…that Satan isn’t evil, which is the opposite of what everybody in this world has been taught…” Winfrey went on to exclaim: “In every state of the nation authorities are investigating some form of what they call satanic activity…Children are telling the same stories about infants being murdered before their eyes in strange devil rituals. The list of bizarre stories goes on and on.” Not surprisingly Aquino tried unsuccessfully at this point to put another typical spin on Satanism by claiming that they are not into such things. Even as leading Satanists like to hide the fact that they are truly worshipping Satan so it is that they seek to deny that Satanists sacrifice humans including children. The truth of the matter is that Aleister Crowley, whom Aquino acknowledges, had an incredible influence on Aquino and the Temple of Set, not only taught his followers to engage in child sacrifice but admitted to sacrificing scores of children himself. We have fully documented this fact in our article on Crowley. After Aquino made the false claim that Satanist don’t really sacrifice children a law enforcement officer spoke up and stated: “To say that there are no bodies and that these [Satanists] are not committing crimes is the farthest from the truth…in every case that I’ve investigated, now extending over 200, I have found this particular book [The Satanic Bible].” At this point the investigator held up a satanic bible. In the satanic bible LaVey seeking “not advance things in print which make my position untenable” lest he find himself behind bars, stated that his followers were to commit human sacrifices by proxy: “We perform human sacrifices, by proxy you might say—the destruction of human beings who would, let’s say, create an antagonistic situation toward us—in the form of curse and hexes, not in actual blood rituals because certainly the destruction of a human being physically is illegal.” Note that the only reason LaVey concedes that he is not publicly advocating actual physical human sacrifice is because it is against the law, implying that if they could get away with it they would do it. In fact LaVey takes credit for the death of Jayne Mansfield’s and her boy friend and Lawyer Sam Brody, stating that it was a result of a ritual curse on Brody, and Mansfield happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. LaVey also believes that he was responsible for the Manson family murders. Manson was heavily influenced by the satanic cult known as the Process. The Process also acknowledged that Satan is a real entity. Their particular twisted spin in an effort to get unwitting recruits was not to pretend Satan was not a true entity but to claim that Satan was actually a Jesus loving devil. The Process claimed that they Jesus and Satan had reconciled and that all would work out well in the end for everyone including Satanists, because Jesus had supposedly forgiven the devil. Ridiculous as this spin was it proved successful in garnering more than a few recruits. The bodies have piled up and the idea that Satanism is not behind the death of countless multitudes of innocent people is a lie only believed by the incredibly naive. Manson who was a confessed Satanist was responsible of up to 35 murders if the admissions of some of his former followers are to believed. Charles Manson, whom Marilyn Manson cites as one of his preeminent inspirations and a brilliant philosopher, has stated, “Jesus Christ is for real and so is that other guy [i.e. Satan].” Charles Manson knows that Satan whom he serves is a real entity and has been more candid than has his follower Marilyn Manson. Son of Sam who was part of a Process coven made up of 22 Satanists and connected to several other satanic covens also murdered several people at the direction of the coven. We show his video taped admissions in our video They Sold Their Souls for Rock n Roll. (full length version) Richard Ramirez who followed the satanic bible and met with Anton LaVey before his satanic killing spree killed 20 people. Ramirez even went so far as to torture his victims and made some “swear to Satan.” Between Manson, Son of Sam and Richard Ramirez alone we have dozens of murders in the name of Satan. We could easily add to this list case after case that could easily fill a book but we have more than sufficiently made our case for those who will honestly look at the evidence! We have now seen conclusive evidence that the most influential and notorious satanic leaders have had a campaign to dupe their followers into becoming unwitting followers of Satan himself. We have seen not only their admissions but the deceptive web they have spun to prey on outer circle initiates. Dear reader, if you have been deceived by any of the aforementioned Satanists, we plead with you to recognize the magnitude of the deception at hand. We plead with you to recognize that which is obvious to all of us who have eyes to see and ears to hear. Jesus Christ promised that he would not cast away any that would come to Him. (John 6:37) Turn to him now before it is too late. Your life is very short and Satan is playing for keeps and your soul is his prey. Wake up and turn from these demonic parasites that prey upon your souls and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ who loves you and died for your sins so you would not have to go to hell. It is not by accident that you are reading this article. God is seeking to use this article to open your eyes to a deception that has deceived you for too long. Do not bet your soul on Satan, he is the ultimate loser! Don’t gamble, you will surely lose! The odds are too great, the stakes are too high and eternity is far too long. Cry out to God right now and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you do He will miraculously deliver you from demonic powers. He will deliver you from Hell and give you a new destiny. He will deliver you from the penalty of death and give you new Life. Hope to see you in heaven! END

Homosexuality is a work of darkness! 1st Corinthians 6:9 condemns homosexuals (i.e., the effeminate and abusers of themselves with mankind) to Hellfire. Homosexuals want to live in sin without any rebuke from God's Word; but as long as the church is in the world we will preach against the sin of homosexuality. Homosexuality is NOT Acceptable to God Secondly, Mr. Johnson states that many gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and queer people want to continue their "spiritual life" and seek fellowship with a "higher power," but don't feel welcomed at church. The truth is that no unrepentant sinner should feel welcomed at any church. This is why Paul scolded the church at Corinth. A man in the church was living in fornication and the pastor wasn't preaching against the sin of fornication (1st Corinthians 5:1,2). Preachers need to cry aloud against sin, taking an uncompromising Biblical stand against evil. God makes no apologies for His Word, so why should we? God doesn't water down His Word, so why should we? The notion that homosexuals won't be reached for Christ unless we accept them is absurd, unbiblical and downright insane! The Bible is the most offensive Book on the planet, because God takes an uncompromising stand against sin. The Truth of God's Word is intolerant. Homosexuals want to live in unrepentant sin, in rebellion against God's Word, and they don't want anyone telling them it's wrong. Homosexuality is evil. The Bible condemns all forms of sin. The issue is not just about homosexuality, but about sin in general. I don't condemn anyone; the Word of God condemns all of us. But if you come as a sinner to the cross of Jesus Christ for forgiveness, then you you can be freed from the curse of the Law... When a Church is Not a Church A church is not a church unless it's composed of genuine saved, born-again children of God. Most so-called "churches" today are nothing of the such. Eighteen-percent of the members of the Unitarian Universalist Church are professed atheists. That is NOT a genuine Biblical church! Gay-friendly churches are not Biblical churches! NO homosexual will ever be able to properly fellowship with God while simultaneous trying to justify the vile sin of homosexuality. You can't redefine God. You may fool yourself; but you cannot change the Truth of God's Word. Homosexuality is a despicable sin and nothing can change that. God does not hate homosexuals. If God did hate homosexuals, then He would have to hate all sinners. The Bible tells us in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Eternal life is a free gift from God, paid for with His own precious literal blood (Acts 20:28). God is willing to forgive anybody, and this certainly includes homosexuals; however, you cannot live in unrepentant sin and please God at the same time, even as a believer. You cannot live in unrepentant sin and honestly claim that God approves of such wickedness. Please read, God Calls You Heathens! You can go to a building that is called a "church"; BUT, you cannot be right with God unless you are obeying His Word. You can find many apostate sympathizers in churches today, who will tell you that homosexuality is nothing to be ashamed of; BUT, the Word of God condemns you, and you are in serious trouble with the Lord. Any so-called "church" that doesn't preach against homosexuality, but instead accepts them as honored church members, is NOT a Biblical church! Whereas 1st Corinthians 5:11 forbids us to even eat with a professed "Christian" who lives in unrepentant sin; today's apostate so-called "churches" embrace the wicked, promoting and honoring them in their sinfulness. 1st Corinthians 5:13 states, "But them that are without [i.e., non believers] God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person [i.e., the person who brings sin into the church]." Please don't misunderstand me—the church is a hospital for sinners, and all sinners are certainly welcome or else none of us could go to church, because we are all sinners deserving of Hellfire. However, this is quite different from the person who brings sin into the church, attempting to justify sin by perverting the Scriptures and leading others into sin as well. There are many homosexuals today who are operating within America's churches, pretending to be Christians who love the Lord; but they are wolves in sheep's clothing, haters of the God of the Bible, who teach damnable heresies and are leading others into sin. Dead Bible Colleges Produce Dead Preachers Beware of Bob Jones University and other dead Bible colleges, who support dozens of Alexandrian Bible versions, which causes confusion and divisiveness in the Body of Christ. I loathe going to the churches I've been to. I do what I can to be helpful on a personal level, but it's not my place to clean someone else's house. I pray for the pastors and churches. I share solid Bible-preaching with them. (Sadly, when I share sermons with pastors, of all the believers that I share sermons with, pastors seem to appreciate it the least, go figure.) The local churches that I have visited on Guam are all dead. One pastor didn't even know if Jesus' blood is on the heavenly Mercy Seat or not. How did he ever graduate from a Bible college? You're not going to build a church going soul-winning an hour a week!!! Attitude is everything. I am used to getting the cold-shoulder from pastors. Some are in such a hurry that they refuse to even stop and take the time to look at me while I reach out to shake their hand. That is really bad! Truthfully, I win more people to the Lord in my sleep (because of my website ministry), than most pastors win to the Lord in an entire year. It makes me happy to know that God is using me to get thousands of people saved. To God be the glory, great things He hath done. I have received so many precious e-mails from people who found Christ through my labors. It is not because I am something special; but rather, I am simply putting forth the simplicity of the Gospel. Romans 1:16 teaches that THE GOSPEL is the POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION to them that BELIEVE!!! I am just a voice. The Shameful Lukewarm 'Harvest Baptist Church' On Guam I do not hate the pastors and people are the “Harvest Baptist Church” (HBC) on Guam, even though they kicked me out in 2014 for telling THE TRUTH, that the modern Bible versions are corrupt. In particular I was reprimanded for sharing the truthful book by Dr. Al Lacy titled, “NIV: The Antichrist's Bible.” Well, it is the Antichrist's Bible!!! I was also reprimanded for passing out the truthful book, “I Never Knew You,” by Michael P. Bowen, which exposes Ray Comfort as a false prophet. Harvest promotes Ray Comfort, Paul Washer and John MacArthur's Lordship Salvation garbage! The pastors at Harvest Baptist Church in Barrigada literally called me and Dr. Jack Hyles, “a cult,” for exposing the Alexandrian-based Bible versions for being of the Devil. The church uses the “Easy-To-Read Version” (ERV) which is even worse than the “New International Version” (NIV). At least the NIV still refers to Christ as being born of a “virgin.” I believe in word-of-mouth, just as if you went to a bad restaurant. I loved my church family at Harvest and I thought they loved me, but I was mistaken about them. They use people to build their ministry, instead of using their ministry to build people. I was discarded like an old shoe, put outside the gate with Jesus, unwanted and forgotten about entirely. I remember on the evening that I was confronted by their pastors, in the church office, that afterwards I left in tears, knowing that I was losing my church. As a preacher, how could I not take a stand for what I knew in my heart to be right? I took a biblical stand for God and was despised and rejected, like the Lord Himself by His own! Since HBC officially uses two different Bibles (i.e., the King James Bible and the Easy-To-Read Version), and consequently has two different plans of salvation in their church (i.e., the Gospel and Calvinism, or Lordship Salvation), I figured that it was okay for me to share what I believed to be the truth of the two with others, but I was mistaken. You see, at Harvest you can be ecumenical and believe whatever you want, just so long as you don't take sides and raise a flag of exclusivity. I respectfully asked for permission from the senior pastor to give out Gospel tracts by Dr. Curtis Hutson, and he said it was okay; but the senior pastor distributes study materials by 5-point Calvinist (Mr. Lordship Salvation himself) John MacArthur to his congregation. So that tells me that the pastor is okay with both conflicting plans of salvation (i.e., the Gospel of free grace verses Calvinism). Folks, that is REALLY MESSED UP! Harvest is a very confusing church, having two official opposing Bible versions, and two conflicting plans of salvation. I feel sorry for that congregation. As time passed I missed my friends and church family at Harvest, so in desperation and loneliness I pleaded on three occasions in 2017 if I could return. I knew in my heart that I was much better off not going back, but my heart wanted to be there, part of a church FAMILY. I had learned many great things while I attended Harvest between 2013 and 2014, despite the doctrinal heresies that abound. Their pastors coldheartedly told me in 2017 to “go elsewhere.” They misinterpreted the Scriptures, using Paul's conflict with John Mark as justification to set me at nought, refusing to even allow me to simply attend church services, despite my promise to keep quiet and just attend services. That is how apostate the church is today. Do you know (if I wanted) that I could walk into any karaoke lounge on Guam (bars and night clubs), and they would openly welcome me; but I am rejected, shunned and turned away from attending the biggest Baptist church on Guam (5 minutes away from me), simply because I am telling THE TRUTH. Galatians 4:16, “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” That is a heavy burden that I have had to bear, which has hurt so much in my soul. Romans 14:10, “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.” It is tragic that any person (like me) should ever feel unloved by a church (Harvest Baptist Church). I once heard Evangelist Les Ollila (at Harvest Baptist Church of all places) make the following beautiful statement... “Church is a place where people should be able to hurt out loud. And I should be there to put my arms around those who are willing to hurt out loud.” —Evangelist Les Ollila, from the MP3 sermon, “The Judgment Seat Of Christ.” Sadly, the local Bob Jones University camp down the street from me on Guam violate this truth 100%. Nobody was hurting in 2013-2014 as much as me in their local Baptist church (which I attended for a year), yet they kicked me out over my rightful stand for the King James Bible (and my faithful stand against the Alexandrian perversions). I don't count to the BJU crowd, I'm just a cult member according to them, who stands for the inspiration of the King James Bible. Well I CARE even if the BJU crowd doesn't! I realized in time from listening to Pastor Jack Hyles and Dr. Peter Ruckman refute Bob Jones University's heretical position on the inspiration of the Word of God (learning that most of Harvest's staff and pastors are spiritually dysfunctional graduates of Bob Jones University), that BJU is the real problem. America's apostate Bible colleges are destroying the faith of young people in the inspiration of God's Word, and now sadly, Hyles-Anderson College has also bowed their knee to Baal, no longer upholding the inspiration of the blessed King James Bible since 2008, as was announced at Pastor's School that year. I am not biased for or against anyone, I am always on the side of TRUTH. If the shoe fits, wear it! To God be the glory, great things He hath done!!! To date, First Baptist Church of Hammond (FBCH) has arrogantly refused to go back to their original proper position when Pastor Jack Hyles was pastor (from 1959 to 2001 when he went to Heaven). You can hear Brother Hyles yourself in this monumental sermon preached in 1994 at FBCH titled, “THE BATTLE OF THE AGES,” in which he blasts BJU for making light on the verbal inspiration of the Bible. Any pastor who supports Bob Jones University today is NOT right with God and you cannot trust him!!! Any pastor who supports the Alexandrian-based Bible versions is NOT right with God and you cannot trust him!!! I have shared fundamental sermons and books, with pastors who are doctrinally lacking, but I might as well have threw the materials in the garbage. I heard one Baptist pastor teaching a group of children to “invite Jesus into their heart.” So I kindly and respectfully gave him Pastor Max D. Younce's beautiful 24-part MP3 series titled “SO GREAT SALVATION,” which exposes the heresy of asking Jesus into your heart. You don't get saved by inviting Jesus into your heart, you get saved by BELIEVING THE GOSPEL! Sadly, that pastor still teaches children to invite Jesus into their heart. I did all I could. Although I pray for the pastor, he must humble himself to THE TRUTH before God can do a great work in his ministry work. Little children don't understand what it means to “invite Jesus into their heart.” A heart is a muscle that pumps blood 100,000 times per day. God will not bless a church that is unresponsive to the truth. What I see is that a lot of pastors are doing the best they can, but they just don't know how to grow their church. The wise pastor understands that he cannot do it alone. Psalms 127:1, “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” God can do amazing things through a small group of believers in a church, if the pastor will simply teach them HOW to do it! A pastor MUST teach his flock HOW to walk with God, HOW to labor for God, HOW to pray for the power of the Holy Spirit, and teach them HOW to be a diligent soul-warner. Pastors ought to motivate church members to invite everyone to church. “Church is caring about people that nobody else cares about!” —Pastor Danny Castle (a quote from the beautiful sermon titled, “Burden For The Bus Ministry.”) Every pastor is as an artist and his congregation a sculpture. A pastor shapes his people, by preaching the Word of God. But you can examine a hundred different churches, and you'll find massive differences in the spirit that prevails in the congregation. Why? It is because the pastor's personality, priorities and attitude directly affect the congregation. If the pastor is a hateful man toward other people, then the congregation will also become hateful. If the pastor is forgiving, then so also will the people become forgiving. If the pastor is zealous about soul-winning, then so also will the people become fervent soul-winners. Dr. Jack Hyles (1926-2001) was zealous about soul-winning, and built the greatest soul-winning church in history, since the New Testament Church. In Acts 2:41 we read that 3,000 people were saved in ONE DAY in an evangelistic crusade. The magnitude of a ministry is not determined by the size of it. I am merely one man with a laptop computer, and yet look at what God has done over the past 15 years through my labors for Christ. Literally, thousands of people have been saved, through simple childlike faith in the Gospel. God sees a man's heart, and decides whether or not to use that man based on what He sees. God knows that I am far from perfect, but He sees that I care, and that little things are important to me. Nothing hinders God from using a man more than pride. Pride manifests itself in how we treat others. Arrogance cannot be hid. The Holy Bible says that a man who hides hatred behind lying lips has seven abominations in his heart. If you don't like somebody, it will eventually manifest itself to that person. I decided in my heart long ago to love everyone. When I am alone at home, I refuse to harbor ill-feelings or hatred toward any other human being. And when I do feel a thought of anger toward someone who has hurt me, or doesn't like me, I immediately pray for them, bringing that thought into captivity unto obedience to Christ (2nd Corinthians 10:5). ... 2nd Corinthians 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” You'll never grow in the Lord, or be what God the Father intends for you to be, until you completely and regularly humble yourself before God, examining yourself, being HONEST with yourself and God. So many believers live shallow lives, going through the motions, playing church, never rising up to a higher level in their Christian life. The Bob Jones camp comes to mind. They sinfully hold grudges, against people like me. They are ungrateful toward others. They sinfully use and sanction dozens of Bible versions. They sinfully sanction and promote the ungodly ministry of Pastor John MacArthur, who teaches (and I quote: “There is no such thing as a childhood conversion”). Mr. MacArthur is a theological liar! Why would any pastor support such a man? It is because they are sinfully proud, not heeding warnings from other believers (like me), who have warned them. Instead, they choose rather to go along to get along with apostasy. I am leery of Baptist pastors who have shallow convictions. And I am even more leery of those stuff-shirt pastors, who have such strong convictions, that they despise and harbor ill-feelings towards brethren who don't live up to their standards. I choose to love everyone. I honestly think some paid religious people (full-time Christian workers), who have to be at church three times a week, resent and despise others who are not required to live that way. They have the wrong attitude. It shouldn't matter who goes to church, or doesn't. A proper attitude is that one is glad to be at the house of God, and if someone else doesn't come to church as much as you think they should, that is their loss. It is carnal to get upset in your heart, because someone else doesn't have to be at church. That is so shallow. You'd be surprised how many faithful churchgoers look down on, and despise, other believers who aren't as faithful. Again, I fully understand why 150,000 more people decide each week in the United States to never set foot in a church again. The article says that one-third of people quit church because of frustration over the church itself. Another one-third quit because they are too busy for church. I believe bad pastors are partly to blame for that. If a man's preaching is so shallow that his people would rather stay home and watch TV, that pastor needs to get right with God and learn how to preach! I feel sorry for paid church staff members, or people employed to work at the church's religious schools, who are required to attend church, and the preaching is so dead, shallow and BORING!!! I think a wise preacher touches upon many subjects, leaving no stone unturned. The churches are dead because the pastors are dead spiritually. Few men truly walk with God anymore, evidenced by their lack of mercy and truth. When you tell someone they cannot return to attend church services, who has a humble heart and a contrite spirit, that is a horrible lack of mercy. God sees that injustice. But what can we expect from the Bob Jones crowd, when they don't care about the truth? Their Alexandrian Bible PERversions stink with the stench of hellfire. I speak THE TRUTH without apology! God Cannot Work THROUGH YOU Until He First Works ON YOU Oh my friend, if you ever truly want to be used by God, then you're going to have to suffer. There is no other way! I know what it is to suffer inexplicable emotional trauma and pain of soul; not for days, weeks, months, but several years. God doesn't just use anybody. God not only works THROUGH a man, but ON THAT MAN!!! One of the greatest sermons I've ever heard is titled, “Why Mama Was So Smart” (a classic MP3 sermon by Pastor Jack Hyles). If you are suffering, God will use that affliction so He can work THROUGH YOU. Philippians 2:13, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” If you want God to work THROUGH YOU, and FOR YOU, and WITH YOU as a co-labourer, then He must first work IN YOU. There will be tears. There will be sorrow. There will be frustration. There will be loneliness. There will be heartache and burdens. There will be decisions that you will have to make, when you feel like you're between a rock and a hard place, and where no matter which decision you make, it won't be easy. That is exactly what God did to the Hebrews in Moses' day. The Lord had delivered them out of bondage from Egypt. At first they were so glad, rejoicing greatly, thinking that life would be easy from that day forward. But God led them into a barren desert wilderness, with impossible conditions of draught, no food, scorpions, snakes and hardships. The Hebrews found themselves between two impossible extremes. They could either return to the bondage of the Egyptians, or they could push forward into the intolerable conditions of a barren desert wilderness. God did this on purpose according to Deuteronomy 8:2-3, to test them... Deuteronomy 8:2-3, “And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.” God gives us hard choices to make, putting us in impossible situations, where in tears we look the only way left to look, upward to Heaven to our heavenly Father. Only then, in that seemingly no-win situation, between a rock and a hard place, can God begin to greatly use your labors for Him through personal affliction. You'll never know that Jesus is all you need, until Jesus is all you have left. Children are very impressionable, but so still are adults! People don't know HOW to make the Christian life work for them. We're too proud folks. All of us! We're all too stinking proud. We need to humble ourselves, push away our pride and selfish ambitions, and care enough about others to simply reach out to them. Did you know that 90% of people come to church simply because somebody invited them? It is very true! Soul-winning is never an accident; but rather, a deliberate attempt to reach someone with the Gospel. I have never received, nor asked, for a single penny for all my hard work online since 2002. I wouldn't have it any other way. I do what I do for God, by faith, because I care and am investing in heavenly rewards. I sincerely wonder if the Bob Jones camp down the street from me would continue their work, if they didn't get paid anymore to do it. Truly, the love of money is the root of all evil. I guarantee you that 99% of religious workers would quit overnight if they money stopped! A salary is the biggest threat to the truth! Truth has grown stale in most churches. Entertainment is king these days! The Bible colleges are switching from training young women to be homemakers to training nurses. 1st Timothy 5:14-15 says women belong at home, not pursuing careers. If Coystal Hyles had been a nurse instead of a homemaker, there would be no Pastor Jack Hyles!!! Everyone has their priorities wrong nowadays, which is why the churches have become shady businesses, operating religious schools to educate the dead. “It is not truth unless it has a responsibility that accompanies it. I care, I really do. Few Christians care these days. You show me a believer who doesn't express gratitude toward others, and I know that person doesn't walk in the Spirit. You show me a believer who doesn't care about the corruption of the Scriptures in the modern Bible versions, and I know that person doesn't walk in the Holy Spirit. So few believers walk in the Spirit of God Who indwells them. That is why our churches are dead. People sit, Sunday after Sunday, being taught a bunch of theological information, but never put it into action. They never lead a soul to Christ. They never make an eternal difference. Outside of the church walls, they are jerks, no different than the world. I don't want to be that kind of a phony believer, and am not!!! I treat people the way I want to be treated, with love and kindness and fairness. We need a whole new breed of preachers and churchgoers in America!!! The Old Time Religion! By Evangelist November 19, 1862-November 6, 1935. "I am an old-fashioned preacher of the old-time religion, that has warmed this cold world's heart for two thousand years." —Billy SUNDAY. INTRODUCTION Modern to the last minute Sunday's methods may be, but his message is unmistakably the "Old-time religion." He believes his beliefs without a question. There is no twilight zone in his intellectual processes; no mental reservation in his preaching. He is sure that man is lost without Christ, and that only by the acceptance of the Saviour can fallen humanity find salvation. He is as sure of hell as of heaven, and for all modernized varieties of religion he has only vials of scorn. In no single particular is Sunday's work more valuable than in its revelation of the power of positive conviction to attract and convert multitudes. The world wants faith. "Intolerant," cry the scholars of Sunday; but the hungry myriads accept him as their spiritual guide to peace, and joy, and righteousness. The world wants a religion with salvation in it; speculation does not interest the average man who seeks deliverance from sin in himself and in the world. He does not hope to be evoluted into holiness; he wants to be redeemed. "Modernists" sputter and fume and rail at Sunday and his work: but they cannot deny that he leads men and women into new lives of holiness, happiness and helpfulness. Churches are enlarged and righteousness is promoted, all by the old, blood-stained way of the Cross. The revivals which have followed the preaching of Evangelist Sunday are supplemental to the Book of the Acts. His theology is summed up in the words Peter used in referring to Jesus: "There is none other Name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." One of Sunday's favorite sayings is: "I don't know any more about theology than a jack-rabbit does about ping-pong, but I'm on the way to glory. That really does not fully express the evangelist's point. He was arguing that "theology bears the same relation to Christianity that botany does to flowers, or astronomy to the stars. Botany is rewritten, but the flowers remain the same. Theology changes (I have no objection to your new theology when it tries to make the truths of Christianity clearer), but Christianity abides. Nobody is kept out of heaven because he does not understand theology. It isn't theology that saves, but Christ; it is not the sawdust trail that saves, but Christ in the motive that makes you hit the trail. The Sermon "I believe the Bible is the word of God from cover to cover. I believe that the man who magnifies the word of God in his preaching is the man whom God will honor. Why do such names stand out on the pages of history as Wesley, Whitefield, Finney and Martin Luther? Because of their fearless denunciation of all sin, and because they preach Jesus Christ without fear or favor. "But somebody says a revival is abnormal. You lie! Do you mean to tell me that the godless, card-playing conditions of the Church are normal? I say they are not, but it is the abnormal state. It is the sin-eaten, apathetic condition of the Church that is abnormal. It is the 'Dutch lunch' and beer party, card parties and the like, that are abnormal. I say that they lie when they say that a revival is an abnormal condition in the Church. "What we need is the good old-time kind of revival that will cause you to love your neighbors, and quit talking about them. A revival that will make you pay your debts, and have family prayers. Get that kind and then you will see that a revival means a very different condition from what people believe it does. "Christianity means a lot more than church membership. Many an old skin-flint is not fit for the balm of Gilead until you give him a fly blister and get after him with a currycomb. There are too many Sunday-school teachers who are godless card-players, beer, wine and champagne drinkers. No wonder the kids are going to the devil. No wonder your children grow up like cattle when you have no form of prayer in the home." THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO SUNDAY What does converted mean? It means completely changed. Converted is not synonymous with reformed. Reforms are from without-conversion from within. Conversion is a complete surrender to Jesus. It's a willingness to do what he wants you to do. Unless you have made a complete surrender and are doing his will it will avail you nothing if you've reformed a thousand times and have your name on fifty church records. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, in your heart and confess him with your mouth and you will be saved. God is good. The plan of salvation is presented to you in two parts. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth. Many of you here probably do Believe. Why don't you confess? Now own up. The truth is that you have a yellow streak. Own up, business men, and business women, and all of you others. Isn't it so? Haven't you got a little saffron? Brave old Elijah ran like a scared deer when he heard old Jezebel had said she would have his head, and he beat it. And he ran to Beersheba and lay down under a juniper tree and cried to the Lord to let him die. The Lord answered his prayer, but not in the way he expected. If he had let him die he would have died with nothing but the wind moaning through the trees as his funeral dirge. But the Lord had something better for Elijah. He had a chariot of fire and it swooped down and carried him into glory without his ever seeing death. So he says he has something better for you--salvation if he can get you to see it. You've kept your church membership locked up. You've smiled at a smutty story. When God and the Church were scoffed at you never peeped, and when asked to stand up here you've sneaked out the back way and beat it. You're afraid and God despises a coward--a mutt. You cannot be converted by thinking so and sitting still. Maybe you're a drunkard, an adulterer, a prostitute, a liar; won't admit you are lost; are proud. Maybe you're even proud you're not proud, and Jesus has a time of it. Jesus said: "Come to me," not to the Church; to me, not to a creed; to me, not to a preacher; to me, not to an evangelist; to me, not to a priest; to me, not to a pope; "Come to me and I will give you rest." Faith in Jesus Christ saves you, not faith in the Church. You can join church, pay your share of the preacher's salary, attend the services, teach Sunday school, return thanks and do everything that would apparently stamp you as a Christian--even pray--but you won't ever be a Christian until you do what God tells you to do. That's the road, and that's the only one mapped out for you and for me. God treats all alike. He doesn't furnish one plan for the banker and another for the janitor who sweeps out the bank. He has the same plan for one that he has for another. It's the law--you may not approve of it, but that doesn't make any difference. Salvation a Personal Matter The first thing to remember about being saved is that salvation is a personal matter. "Seek ye the Lord"--that means every one must seek for himself. It won't do for the parent to seek for the children; it won't do for the children to seek for the parent. If you were sick all the medicine I might take wouldn't do you any good. Salvation is a personal matter that no one else can do for you; you must attend to it yourself. Some persons have lived manly or womanly lives, and they lack but one thing--open confession of the Lord Jesus Christ. Some men think that they must come to him in a certain way--that they must be stirred by emotion or something like that. Some people have a deeper conviction of sin before they are converted than after they are converted. With some it is the other way. Some know when they are converted and others don't. Some people are emotional. Some are demonstrative. Some will cry easily. Some are cold and can't be moved to emotion. A man jumped up in a meeting and asked whether he could be saved when he hadn't shed a tear in forty years. Even as he spoke he began to shed tears. It's all a matter of how you're constituted. I am vehement, and I serve God with the same vehemence that I served the devil when I went down the line. Some of you say that in order to accept Jesus you must have different surroundings. You think you could do it better in some other place. You can be saved where you are as well as any place on earth. I say, "My watch doesn't run. It needs new surroundings. I'll put it in this other pocket, or I'll put it here, or here on these flowers." It doesn't need new surroundings. It needs a new mainspring; and that's what the sinner needs. You need a new heart, not a new suit. What can I do to keep out of hell? "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." The Philippian jailer was converted. He had put the disciples into the stocks when they came to the prison, but after his conversion he stooped down and washed the blood from their stripes. Now, leave God out of the proposition for a minute. Never mind about the new birth--that's his business. Jesus Christ became a man, bone of our bone, flesh of our flesh. He died on the cross for us, so that we might escape the penalty pronounced on us. Now, never mind about anything but our part in salvation. Here it is: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." You say, "Mr. Sunday, the Church is full of hypocrites." So's hell. I say to you if you don't want to go to hell and live with that whole bunch forever, come into the Church, where you won't have to associate with them very long. There are no hypocrites in heaven. You say, "Mr. Sunday, I can be a Christian and go to heaven without joining a church." Yes, and you can go to Europe without getting on board a steamer. The swimmings good--but the sharks are laying for fellows who take that route. I don't believe you. If a man is truly saved he will hunt for a church right away. You say, "It's so mysterious. I don't understand." You'll be surprised to find out how little you know. You plant a seed in the ground--that's your part. You don't understand how it grows. How God makes that seed grow is mysterious to you. Some people think that they can't be converted unless they go down on their knees in the straw at a camp-meeting, unless they pray all hours of the night, and all nights of the week, while some old brother storms heaven in prayer. Some think a man must lose sleep, must come down the aisle with a haggard look, and he must froth at the mouth and dance and shout. Some get it that way, and they don't think that the work I do is genuine unless conversions are made in the same way that they have got religion. I want you to see what God put in black and white; that there can be a sound, thorough conversion in an instant; that man can be converted as quietly as the coming of day and never backslide. I do not find fault with the way other people get religion. What I want and preach is the fact that a man can be converted without any fuss. If a man wants to shout and clap his hands in joy over his wife's conversion, or if a wife wants to cry when her husband is converted, I am not going to turn the hose on them, or put them in a strait-jacket. When a man turns to God truly in conversion, I don't care what form his conversion takes. I wasn't converted that way, but I do not rush around and say, with gall and bitterness, that you are not saved because you did not get religion the way I did. If we all got religion in the same way, the devil might go to sleep with a regular Rip Van Winkle snooze and still be on the job. Look at Nicodemus. You could never get a man with the temperament of Nicodemus near a camp meeting, to kneel down in the straw, or to shout and sing. He was a quiet, thoughtful, honest, sincere and cautious man. He wanted to know the truth and he was willing to walk in the light when he found it. Look at the man at the pool of Bethesda. He was a big sinner and was in a lot of trouble which his sins had made for him. He had been in that condition for a long time. It didn't take him three minutes to say "Yes," when the Lord spoke to him. See how quietly he was converted. "And He Arose and Followed Him"! Matthew stood in the presence of Christ and he realized what it would be to be without Christ, to be without hope, and it brought him to a quick decision. "And he arose and followed him." How long did that conversion take? How long did it take him to accept Christ after he had made up his mind? And you tell me you can't make an instant decision to please God? The decision of Matthew proves that you can. While he was sitting at his desk he was not a disciple. The instant he arose he was. That move changed his attitude toward God. Then he ceased to do evil and commenced to do good. You can be converted just as quickly as Matthew was. God says: "Let the wicked man forsake his way." The instant that is done, no matter if the man has been a life-long sinner, he is safe. There is no need of struggling for hours--or for days-do it now. Who are you struggling with? Not God. God's mind was made up long before the foundations of the earth were laid. The plan of salvation was made long before there was any sin in the world. Electricity existed long before there was any car wheel for it to drive. "Let the wicked man forsake his way." When? Within a month, within a week, within a day, within an hour? No! Now! The instant you yield, God's plan of salvation is thrown into gear. You will be saved before you know it, like a child being born. Rising and following Christ switched Matthew from the broad to the narrow way. He must have counted the cost as he would have balanced his cash book. He put one side against the other. The life he was living led to all chance of gain. On the other side there was Jesus, and Jesus outweighs all else. He saw the balance turn as the tide of a battle turns and then it ended with his decision. The sinner died and the disciple was born. I believe that the reason the story of Matthew was written was to show how a man could be converted quickly and quietly. It didn't take him five or ten years to begin to do something--he got busy right away. You don't believe in quick conversions? There have been a dozen men of modern times who have been powers for God whose conversion was as quiet as Matthew's. Charles G. Finney never went to a camp meeting. He was out in the woods alone, praying, when he was converted. Sam Jones, a mighty man of God, was converted at the bedside of his dying father. Moody accepted Christ while waiting on a customer in a boot and shoe store. Dr. Chapman was converted as a boy in a Sunday school. All the other boys in the class had accepted Christ, and only Wilbur remained. The teacher turned to him and said, "And how about you, Wilbur?" He said, "I will," and he turned to Christ and has been one of his most powerful evangelists for many years. Gipsy Smith was converted in his father's tent. Torrey was an agnostic, and in comparing agnosticism, infidelity and Christianity, he found the scale tipped toward Christ. Luther was converted as he crawled up a flight of stairs in Rome. Seemingly the men who have moved the world for Christ have been converted in a quiet manner. The way to judge a tree is by its fruit. Judge a tree of quiet conversion in this way. Another lesson. When conversion compels people to forsake their previous calling, God gives them a better job. Luke said, "He left all." Little did he dream that his influence would be world-reaching and eternity-covering. His position as tax-collector seemed like a big job, but if was picking up pins compared to the job God gave him. Some of you may be holding back for fear of being put out of your job. If you do right God will see that you do not suffer. He has given plenty of promises, and if you plant your feet on them you can defy the poor-house. Trust in the Lord means that God will feed you. Following Christ you may discover a gold mine of ability that you never dreamed of possessing. There was a saloon-keeper, converted in a meeting at New Castle, who won hundreds of people to Christ by his testimony and his preaching. You do not need to be in the church before the voice comes to you; you don't need to be reading the Bible; you don't need to be rich or poor or learned. Wherever Christ comes follow. You may be converted while engaged in your daily business. Men cannot put up a wall and keep Jesus away. The still small voice will find you. At the Cross-roads Right where the two roads through life diverge God has put Calvary. There he put up a cross, the stumbling block over which the love of God said, "I'll touch the heart of man with the thought of father and son." He thought that would win the world to him, but for nineteen hundred years men have climbed the Mount of Calvary and trampled into the earth the tenderest teachings of God. You are on the devil's side. How are you going to cross over? So you cross the line and God won't issue any extradition papers. Some of you want to cross. If you believe, then say so, and step across. I'll bet there are hundreds that are on the edge of the line and many are standing straddling it. But that won't save you. You believe in your heart--confess him with your mouth. With his heart man believes and with his mouth he confesses. Then confess and receive salvation full, free, perfect and external. God will not grant any extradition papers. Get over the old line. A man isn't a soldier because he wears a uniform, or carries a gun, or carries a canteen. He is a soldier when he makes a definite enlistment. All of the others can be bought without enlisting. When a man becomes a soldier he goes out on muster day and takes an oath to defend his country. It's the oath that makes him a soldier. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile, but public definite enlistment for Christ makes you a Christian. "Oh," a woman said to me out in Iowa, "Mr. Sunday, I don't think I have to confess with my mouth." I said: "You're putting up your thought against God's." M-o-u-t-h doesn't spell intellect. It spells mouth and you must confess with your mouth. The mouth is the biggest part about most people, anyhow. What must I do? Philosophy doesn't answer it. Infidelity doesn't answer it. First, "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Believe on the, Lord. Lord--that's his kingly name. That's the name he reigns under. "Thou shalt call his name Jesus." It takes that kind of a confession. Give me a Saviour with a sympathetic eye to watch me so I shall not slander. Give me a Saviour with a strong arm to catch me if I stumble. Give me a Saviour that will hear my slightest moan. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Christ is his resurrection name. He is sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. Because of his divinity he understands God's side of it and because of his humanity he understands our side of if. Who is better qualified to be the mediator? He's a mediator. What is that? A lawyer is a mediator between the jury and the defendant. A retail merchant is a mediator between the wholesale dealer and the consumer. Therefore, Jesus Christ is the Mediator between God and man. Believe on the Lord. He's ruling today. Believe on the Lord Jesus. He died to save us. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. He's the Mediator. Her majesty, Queen Victoria, was traveling in Scotland when a storm came up and she took refuge in a little hut of a Highlander. She stayed there for an hour and when she went the good wife said to her husband, "We'll tie a ribbon on that chair because her majesty has sat on it and no one else will ever sit on it." A friend of mine was there later and was going to sit in the chair when the man cried: "Nae, nae, mon. Dinna sit there. Her majesty spent an hour with us once and she sat on that chair and we tied a ribbon on it and no one else will ever sit on it." They were honored that her majesty had spent the hour with them. It brought unspeakable joy to them. It's great that Jesus Christ will sit on the throne of my heart, not for an hour, but here to sway his power forever and ever. "He Died for Me" In the war there was a band of guerillas--Quantrell's band--that had been ordered to be shot on sight. They had burned a town in Iowa and they had been caught. One long ditch was dug and they were lined up in front of it and blindfolded and tied, and just as the firing squad was ready to present arms a young man dashed through the bushes and cried, "Stop!" He told the commander of the firing squad that he was as guilty as any of the others, but he had escaped and had come of his own free will, and pointed to one man in the line and asked to take his place. "I'm single," he said, "while he has a wife and babies." The commander of that firing squad was an usher in one of the cities in which I held meetings, and he told me how the young fellow was blindfolded and bound and the guns rang out and he fell dead. Time went on and one day a man came upon another in a graveyard in Missouri weeping and shaping the grave into form. The first man asked who was buried there and the other said, "The best friend I ever had." Then he told how he had not gone far away but had come back and got the body of his friend after he had been shot and buried it; so he knew he had the right body. And he had brought a withered bouquet all the way from his home to put on the grave. He was poor then and could not afford anything costly, but he had placed a slab of wood on the pliable earth with these words on it: "He died for me." Major Whittle stood by the grave some time later and saw the same monument. If you go there now you will see something different. The man became rich and today there is a marble monument fifteen feet high and on it this inscription: SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF WILLIE LEE HE TOOK MY PLACE IN THE LINE HE DIED FOR ME Sacred to the memory of Jesus Christ. He took our place on the cross and gave his life that we might live, and go to heaven and reign with him. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, confess him with thy mouth, and thou shalt be saved and thy house." It is a great salvation that can reach down into the quagmire of filth, pull a young man out and send him out to hunt his mother and fill her days with sunshine. It is a great salvation, for it saves from great sin. The way to salvation is not Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Vassar or Wellesley. Environment and culture can't put you into heaven without you accept Jesus Christ. It's great. I want to tell you that the way to heaven is a blood-stained way. No man has ever reached it without Jesus Christ and he never will.

"Only by pride cometh contention..." —Proverb 13:10 Proverb:8:13: The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Proverb:11:2: When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. Proverb:13:10: Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. Proverb:14:3: In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them. Proverb:16:18: Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverb:29:23: A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. Mankind is wicked, filled with sinful pride. More people have chosen the road to hell because of pride than for any other reason. It is man's pride that causes him to adhere to traditions and false religions instead of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is pride that causes all the divorces. It is pride that causes people to live in sin. Pride destroys marriages, homes, business partnerships, churches, and anything else it comes in contact with. America is a land of sinful arrogant, stick-necked pride. America's women are the most rebellious, stubborn and feminist women on the planet. No wonder the divorce rate is increasingly sky-rocketing. It's become so bad that now more and more couples won't even get married. They simply live together until pride sets in and then move on to greener pastures to repeat the cycle. Psalms:10:4: The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. It is man's pride that causes him not to seek after God. All evolutionists have sinful pride. All Christ-rejecters have sinful pride. Psalms:10:4: The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. The wicked have no need for God, they despise God and all that is good. The world is a wicked place (1st John 5:19). Pride is worse than cancer, eating away all sense of moral reasoning and ethics. People filled with pride will stoop lower than low, hurting even their own spouse or family. It's horribly sad how people who once made their marriage vows can simply break them by divorcing. Divorce is a sin and God hates it. By the way, I don't care what anyone thinks...most divorces are the result of a proud wife. Too many wives in America are spoiled, refusing to deal with an overbearing husband. God created men to dominate, to conquer, to rightfully defend and protect what is his. A man by nature has a God-given desire to CONTROL what's his (his wife, his kids, his land, his money, etc.). Most women refuse to be controlled, they are rebellious! God hates rebellion. I'm not advocating spousal abuse, I'm simply saying a lot of women hate authority (especially if it's her husband). Though some women would like to blame this on an "authoritarian" type father, the truth is that we are all rebellious against God in our sinful hearts (Ephesians 2:2). Mankind by nature hates authority. No one likes to be told what to do, just like Eve in the garden of Eden. She "did her own thing" and God punished her for it. She caused Adam to also sin because he loved Eve and wanted to be with her. We are all rebellious by nature. You'll discover that women who hate their husbands also hate God. Say what you will, God did not create man and woman equal...the wife is the weaker vessel according to the Bible. Proverb:14:1: Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. I've written this article with the divorce rate in mind. There is nothing in America which is more damning to our nation than divorce. The billions of dollars made by the lawyers, judges and legal system from divorces is so evil. I would never be part of a divorce. Divorce is a sin! Jesus never advocated divorce. Hebrews 13:5 promises that God will NEVER leave or forsake us...no matter what we do! What a wonderful Saviour. I'm glad that Jesus never leaves. I hate divorce, it is nothing more than wicked pride! For better, for worse; in sickness, as in health; 'til death do us part! The wedding vows are a PROMISE to God. Anyone can live with anybody if they can learn to be a nobody. Galatians 6:3, "For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself."

Mark 16:15, “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.” Jesus commanded His disciples to GO into all the world and PREACH THE GOSPEL. The key word is “Go.” Most churches today don't GO as the Bible commands. Rather, they sit or remain idle. They are as those unfaithful servants in Matthew 20:6 of whom Jesus said, “Why stand ye here all the day idle?” (Note: All Scripture references are only from the trustworthy King James Bible). The most important duty of every Christian is to go soulwinning. 2nd Corinthians 5:10-11, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men...” Every born-again believer has a responsibility to preach the Gospel, i.e., to share the Good News of Jesus Christ crucified with lost sinners so that they can be forgiven and spend eternity in Heaven. But what is the gospel? An alarming number of Christians are zealous to preach the gospel, but they don't even know what the gospel is. They are sincere, but they've never been taught. There is an apostate gospel in America that says to ask “Jesus into your heart” to be saved. That is a false gospel. There is another false gospel which says, “Make a full surrender to God. Amend your ways. Make a commitment to Christ” to be saved. No, no, that is not the gospel! The Bible defines the gospel in 1st Corinthians15:1-4... 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” There you have it—the Biblical gospel (good news) is the DEATH, BURIAL and RESURRECTION of the Lord Jesus Christ! The way to be saved is to acknowledge your guilt of sin and receive the gospel as payment for your sins. That is the good news... Jesus died, was buried and rose again three days later for our justification. Carefully notice that the Bible does NOT say to go into the world and make music. The Bible does NOT say to go into the world and start a business. The Bible does NOT say to go into the world and write books. No, rather, God's inspired Words instruct us to PREACH THE GOSPEL. We read in Romans 10:13-14, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” The great need of the hour in today's churches is preaching preachers who teach their flock to be soulwinners. Matthew 28:19-20 are commonly referred to as “The Great Commission.” “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Most believers fail to realize that there are two parts to The Great Commission: 1) Preaching the Gospel, and 2) Teaching new converts how to be soulwinners. The Lord wants us to go soulwinning and then teach those whom we have the privilege of leading to the Lord how to become soulwinners themselves. There is a Biblical mandate for each believer to go forth preaching the Gospel. We must give account to God for each day of our life (Romans 14:12). Throughout the Midwestern part of the United States, there's an egg company which prints Bible verses inside every carton of eggs. They are planting the Seed of God's Word into the hearts of people. Amen! There is something that each of us can do to influence others to receive Christ. Look what this man of God is doing to get the Gospel message out to the lost. Romans 10:17 tells us that “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” We don't need to be eloquent in speech or a gifted writer or a theologian to get people saved, we just need to tell lost sinners that they need Christ's righteousness, because we have none of our own to offer God. This sin-cursed world has been lied to by false ministers to think that the only way to Heaven is to do good works and stop sinning. That is the same type of self-righteousness that Cain offered God, which God rejected (Genesis 4:1-5). Although God does not give anyone permission to sin, living a separated or surrendered life for God has nothing to do with salvation. The Bible proclaims in Romans 3:23a, “For all have sinned.” The Bible condemns all mankind, because we have all sinned. There are no good people (Romans 3:10-23). There are some good men as far as sinners go, but they are still sinful men deserving of Hell. No amount of self-righteousness can make up for the sins one commits. This is why Jesus lovingly paid our sin debt, because we could not. What a precious Savior! The Bible does NOT tell us to go into the world making religious music, or to make a career of singing or entertaining. These are falsehoods that some people claim as a “ministry” without preaching the Gospel. Many people nowadays have wrongfully slapped a “ministry” label on pursuits, activities and functions that are totally devoid of preaching the Gospel. Many pro-homosexual, pro-abortion and pro-feminist groups have falsely labeled their evil works as a “ministry.” They are sinister ministers of Satan. The Devil is a beautiful liar. Genuine Biblical ministries PREACH THE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world in an effort to get people saved. What good does it profit a man if you feed him a bowl of soup and provide him some clothing, but fail to warn him concerning the wrath of God which abideth upon Christ-rejecters. John 3:36, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” Oh, how this world needs Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Allah is a fraud. Buddha is a fake. Zoroaster is a phony. The Pope is a false prophet. The Virgin Mary did NOT remain a virgin. Muhammad is an imposter. Confucius died confused. The stone covering the entrance to Jesus' tomb was not rolled away to permit the Lord to exit; but rather, to show the world that Jesus had already risen from the dead. Jesus is alive evermore! Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, THE ALMIGHTY (Revelation 1:8). Amen! Whatever ministry you may be involved in, it is no work for God if you fail to PREACH THE GOSPEL. I wouldn't give you a dime for a Bible scholar who doesn't go soulwinning. I wouldn't give you a dime for a Gospel singer who doesn't attempt to win the audience to Christ by preaching the Gospel. To the same extent that God has given someone influence over people, to that same extent He will hold that individual accountable for PREACHING THE GOSPEL to lost sinners (Luke 12:48). America's theological seminaries are nothing more than spiritual cemeteries, filled with dried-up corpses who never go soulwinning, never pass out a Gospel tract, never shed a tear over lost souls. May God give us more Bible-believing, Christ-honoring, sin-hating, soul-loving, Christians who PREACH THE GOSPEL.

This world is starved for spiritual bread, but our religious leaders have given them nothing but stones. A recent 2013 Oprah special featured the pathetic ministry of Joel Osteen. In 2005 Osteen's ministry spent $95,000,000 to build the Lakeview Church in Houston, Texas. It's a massive stadium seating 16,000 people each Sunday. Osteen packs in the crowds because he doesn't preach the Bible. It's a big fun center, a Rock concert, the largest religious congregation in America. But forget about finding any truth at the Lakeview so-called “church.” Osteen preaches the demonic health, wealth and prosperity message of the Charismatic cults. The primary message that Osteen preaches is that God wants us all to be wealthy financially. Not surprisingly, Osteen has become more wealthy than anyone else. Even Oprah, an unsaved heathen, admits that Osteen doesn't include Christ enough in his preaching. Joel Osteen is a big fake, worthless as far as Heaven is concerned. Lakewood has about 3,000 children come through each weekend. The church hired former Disney staffers to work with the children. Unbelievable! Disney is straight out of Hell. Osteen's message is all psychology, not Bible doctrine. Osteen says he doesn't ask for money on television. He doesn't have to, people still send in millions of dollars. His book sales alone bring in hundreds-of-millions of dollars!!! Joel's smile alone brings in the money. Due to the hype on television, promotion by the Godless media, and sensationalism over his wishy-washy books, Osteen is a worldwide Rock star celebrity. Rick Warren and Max Lucado have the same lucrative deal with the publishers, selling hundreds-of-millions of dollars in apostate books. The New York Times Bestseller List is almost impossible to get on. You have to commit to the New World Order to be accepted and promoted. You first must sell your soul to the Devil. False prophet's books are all endorsed by the demonic New World Order! Osteen is full of deceit, claiming that money is not the main issue, but it is certainly is the central focus of their ministry. The bottom line is that they are filthy rich doing what they're doing. When the Devil endorses you, you're on your way to wealth. Satan loves preachers who don't preach! Satan loves ministers of unrighteousness who bury the truth instead of shining the light of God's Word for the sinful world to see. Joel Osteen's wife is a woman preacher, which is unbiblical. She is co-pastor of the church and pitches in leading the church with her teachings, leading men in prayer and speaking in the church as an AUTHORITY (which is wrong). 1st Timothy 2:12, “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” Joel Osteen continually downplays the Biblical teaching that God is angry with them. But John 3:36 says God's wrath is upon the unbeliever. Psalms 7:11 warns that God is angry with the wicked every day. Joel Osteen's books are all written from the viewpoint that God is not angry with anyone. That's simply not true! Joel Osteen accepts never speaks a word against government crimes, illegal immigration, the evil Federal Reserve, et cetera. Osteen doesn't preach against anything! He certainly doesn't preach against false religions. The Roman Catholic Church is a religious cult, leading over one billion lost souls into the fires of Hell. The Roman Catholic Church is guilty of lies and deceit! Catholics have heard the truth that their arrogant priests steer people away from the Bible, yet they choose to continue living a lie because of their family tradition. Catholicism is the road to Hell damnation! Any so-called preacher who doesn't expose false religion doesn't have much faith in the Word of God. Osteen will have the blood of millions of people on his hands, for not warning them about the coming judgment for sin in Hell. It's all about money! Osteen is making money hand-over-fist, as proof that it's all about money. Joel lives in a giant mansion and lives extravagantly, not becoming of a gospel preacher. When a Modernist like Oprah Winfrey likes and promotes a preacher, he is serving the Devil. Oprah is the number one promoter of demonic new age, spiritism and devilish things. Being A Faithful Preacher Doesn't Mean Being Liked Joel Osteen is super popular and well-liked because he is a bonafied FALSE PROPHET... Luke 6:26, “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” If I were to ask a hundred people for their favorite preacher in America, they would probably say Joel Osteen. This is simply because most people don't know what they need spiritually. Most people judge a preacher based on what they want. Many new apostate churches even send out surveys into a local community, asking heathens what kind of church they want, and then they build it for them. Osteen gives people false encouragement. You have no right to feel like everything is going to be ok if you're not a born-again child of God. Osteen says that everyone knows they have sinned, so he instead tells them to love God and don't quit. Why be negative, right? But the truth, the Bible, is negative in many aspects. The truth includes negatives as well as positives, depending upon the choices that we make. Osteen's style of speaking is not preaching at all; but rather, easy-going sermonettes, motivational speaking and cowardly crowd pleasing. Girly-boy with his Shirley Temple haircut, resembling something out of Gentleman's Quarterly magazine, couldn't preach his way out of a paper-bag! Joel Osteen is NO preacher of the Word of God. Osteen is NO preacher of the gospel. He'll tickle your ears, scratch your back, say some kind words... while everyone goes to Hell. I too like and admire Joel Osteen's smile, kindness and oratory abilities. I wouldn't mind attending Osteen's church for a good time, if I didn't care about what God thinks. I couldn't attend such a wicked church that doesn't preach the gospel, doesn't go soul-winning, doesn't teach members to be soul-conscious, doesn't care about the lost! SELF has no place in the believer's life. The flesh is our enemy, along with the world and the Devil. Bringing fleshly music into the church won't help anyone. Saying a bunch of uplifting words won't offend anyone, so there cannot be any changed lives for God. If the preacher doesn't preach against sin, then people won't repent of sin. Joel Osteen is nothing more than a master of ceremonies, like a DJ in a nightclub. It's a big party. Jesus warned that men all men like you, watch out! Luke 6:26, “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” This just may be Joel Osteen's life's verse in Luke 6:26. The false prophets were spoken of well by most people, just like Joel Osteen. Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001) was the greatest preacher of the 20th century, bar none!!! Pastor Hyles is still greatly despised by jealous preachers today, hated by envious critics and deadbeats who do nothing for God to get souls saved. The fact that Brother Hyles still has so many enemies, even over a decade after going on to Heaven to be with the Lord, proves that he was a genuine man of God, preacher and friend of the gospel. The wicked only speak well about false preachers. That's exactly what Luke 6:326 teaches!!! God Is Angry Daily With Unbelievers! You'll NEVER hear this from Joel Osteen. If you've rejected Christ, or have been SLOW TO BELIEVE all that was spoken by the prophets in the Bible, God is ANGRY WITH YOU!!! The History Channel insults the Word of God, downplaying the future literacy of the book of revelation, teaching that most historians interpret Revelation from a historical point of view rather than a future point of view. The Lakeview Church is a big Rock concert of worship. People come with their heartaches and problems and cry, experiencing an emotional high to the worldly music, but the truths of the Bible are not preached. Joel Osteen is a Rock 'N' Roll religious star. That's all he is. I saw a recent video of a Paul McCartney concert, which showed adults crying in response to the music. Human nature is easily manipulated. People are conditioned to cry, give money and respond emotionally to emotional, uplifting music. Women and men alike clap their hands, swaying side-to-side, singing worldly music. Joel's messages are nothing but motivational speeches, total devoid of Biblical counsel and truth. You could attend Lakewood Church for a lifetime and never learn the doctrine of Christ, never get born-again and go straight to the Lake of Fire forever to burn. When asked if he believed that homosexuality is a sin, Osteen said yes, which I'll give him credit for. Good for Joel. Yet, Joel will never preach against the sin of homosexuality from the pulpit because he says people already feel down on themselves, so he chooses to be positive instead. The problem is that being positive doesn't change anyone's life for God. The truth is offensive. The reality of sin and judgment are unpleasant. The Bible teaches in John 3:20 that sin hinders men from coming to the light, lest their deeds should be reproved. Unrepentant sinners avoid Jesus Christ and the Bible. America's churches are filled with religious people who have never been born-again by faith in the gospel. The gospel is offensive, because in order to be saved you must admit your sinnership. You must admit that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to Heaven. There is ONLY one path to salvation and that is through “the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16). Joel Osteen may be sincere, but he is NOT a man of God. Joel Osteen is a man of the moment, tickling ears and scratching backs. The Bible offends people. A preacher who's message never offends most people is pulling on the same rope as the Devil. 2nd Timothy 3:12-13, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” Joel Osteen is a seducer! When asked by Oprah if he believed that there are many paths to Heaven, Osteen said that he believes there are many paths to Jesus. What a copout! What garbage theology! Oprah Is Of The Devil Following Oprah's special on Joel Osteen, she went directly into another special about a witch doctor in Brazil, a medium for demons (entities) who actually (allegedly) heals people of their diseases. The demons tell him what procedure to use. The witch doctor calls himself, “John Of God.” Oprah also promoted The John Of God on her show in 2010. Hundreds of people dress in all white and regularly attend surgical meetings where John Of God shaves their eyes balls with a surgical knife, cuts an incision into their breast or sticks a surgical tool up their nostrils. The false prophet slices people's chests open, leading them to believe that they've been healed. It's ludicrous and insane! Oprah claims to have documented legitimate healings. It's all healing by the Devil in an attempt to make the demon doctor look like he is of God. In reality, the Devil tricks people, coming to naive victims as a sheep (but is really a wolf in disguise). This truth is verified in Matthew 7:21-23 where false prophets of the Devil were able to do miracles with Satan's power. Again, when asked if he believed that there are many paths to Heaven, Osteen told Oprah on national television that he believes there are many paths to Jesus. What a copout! What garbage theology! The only path to Jesus is the gospel, that is, the message that Jesus DIED, was BURIED and RESURRECTED three days later (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). Oprah is a Godless woman who is a fake, a spiritual fraud who talks about “the Lord,” but her only lord is Satan himself, the god of this evil world. Oprah makes $350,000,000 per year as the most famous and powerful woman in America. Anyone that Oprah promotes goes straight to the top in popularity, achieving overnight wealth and fame. To no surprise, The John Of God heretic claims to believe in God. He admits being clairvoyant. He claims that we are all children of God, and those who do good are able to channel entity powers. He teaches that “human energy” appears as various colors. He also claims that God is the source of his power. What a liar! When anyone speaks about entities, run! Entities are demons! Satan cannot appear as a spirit. If you'll research the Scriptures you'll find that demons never appeared in spirit form. Demons always needed a host body, either human or animal (like pigs). In sharp contrast, angels from God were able to appear in their own bodies. That's very interesting. When God cast the fallen angels down to the earth prior to the fall of man, they lost their bodies. Demons have to posses someone else's body. It's important to understand then that Satan and demons work through evil people, drunks, spiritual mediums, occultists, druggies, et cetera. The John Of God, to no surprise has been accused multiple times of sexual abuse. Oprah Winfrey defending the wicked false prophet, saying that her investigation found nothing. When asked by Oprah what happens when we die, The John Of God said everyone has eternal life. He defines God as love, period. So in his heretical little world, no one ever goes to Hell to suffer. But God is also a holy God, a just God, a jealous God. God is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11) and will cast all Christ-rejecters into Hell forever (2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9). Neither Osteen, Oprah nor the John Of God warn anyone about the fires and judgment of God in Hell. Americans travel by the hundreds to Brazil, seeking a miracle from The John Of God. Don't fall for the hype. The Bible warns against false prophets coming in the last days. Whether Pentecostal Charismatics, Benny Hinn, The 700 Club, TBN, The John Of God or Assemblies Of God healing services... IT'S ALL A FRAUD!!! God works miracles in response to the prayer of faith. All other miracles are performed by the demons. There is no such thing as channeling human energy to heal someone. Such teachings are New Age. I don't condemn anyone, for we are all dirty sinners deserving of God's judgment (Romans 3:23; Hebrews 9:27). Albeit, as a born-again Christian who is robed in God's righteousness in Christ Jesus (Romans 4:5-6), I am commanded to refute all works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11). Oprah is leading hundreds-of-millions of people into the Lake of Fire. Oprah's philosophy is that there couldn't possibly be only one path to Jesus. It is tragic that Joel Osteen told Oprah during an interview that he believes Jesus is the only way, but there are MANY PATHS to Jesus. What a copout! My friend, the only way to Jesus is by faith in THE GOSPEL. 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” That is the ONLY way to Heaven. You either believe that Jesus is the Christ Who came into the world to pay for men's sins, or you don't. You either believe that Jesus rose from the dead miraculously after three days, or you don't. I DO believe and that is my only hope for Heaven, forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Amen!!! Beware Of Joel Osteen's Religious Business The Lakewood Church is a giant religious playground for apostates. It's a money-making business. They don't ask for money, but people mail in money from around the world. That's Satan's power! The world is the ENEMY of the Church (James 4:4). We must warn sinners of the judgment to come. We read the effects of Paul's preaching to governor Felix in Acts 24:25... "And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled." Do you think any of Joel Osteen's audience "trembles" at his message? No, because Osteen doesn't "preach the Word" as 2nd Timothy 4:2 commands. Instead, Osteen preaches modern psychology and only touches upon non-offensive Christian topics. We read in 1st Corinthians 1:18, "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." The Biblical Gospel offends people, because it MUST include the guilt and condemnation which our sin brings upon us. It's not enough to just acknowledge Jesus Christ. You must come to the cross of Jesus Christ as a dirty, rotten, condemned, guilty, hell-deserving SINNER!!! Joel Osteen Preaches “Another Gospel” On page xi in the introduction to “I NEVER KNEW YOU,” Michael Bowen states that one of Satan's greatest weapons against mankind is... “to con people into living the Christian lifestyle without ever being born again.” What a great statement! One of the things I like about Bowen's book is that he approaches the matter from a gentlemanly point of view. For example, on page 21 he states concerning Pastor Joel Osteen... “Osteen is not the enemy, folks, but Osteen is being 'used' by the enemy to lead all who believe in a 'different' gospel into a Christless eternity.” The enemy is Satan who hates all people, saved and unsaved alike, and wants to lure as many people into the Lake of Fire (Gehenna) with him as possible to be punished for ever and ever. Just as Joel Osteen, likewise Ray Comfort, John Hagee, Charles Stanley and other “greats” of our generation are not bad people, they are sincere; but they are sincerely wrong about the gospel. In one of his sermons, Joel Osteen once asked his church audience where they would spend eternity if they died that moment. Clearly, Osteen does care if his congregation goes to Heaven or Hell. Albeit, Osteen's errant way of salvation is to repent of sins, ask Jesus into our hearts, ask Him to wash us clean, and make Him Lord of our life. Osteen hasn't even begun to mention the gospel. Instead, Joel Osteen has added a bunch of requirements that God did not. Changing the gospel even in the slightest way negates it completely and there can be no salvation. The gospel is that Jesus Christ died, was buried and has been resurrected (these three things are the gospel). The gospel does not include making Jesus ones “Lord.” The gospel does not include amending one's ways, nor joining a church through water baptism, nor keeping sacraments. It is a simple matter of heart's faith in what Christ has done to pay for our sins. America Needs Preaching Preachers, Not Motivational Speakers! Joel Osteen is a heretic! Although it is true that God looks at each of our hearts—the road to Hell is paved with sincerity and good intentions. We are warned in Proverb 14:12, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." I recently witnessed to an unsaved Catholic man, who said... "It doesn't matter what you believe, just so long as you're sincere God will look at your heart." I explained to him that he is wrong, and that he will go to Hell if He doesn't trust upon the sin-cleansing blood of Jesus Christ alone. He was still insistent that sincerity is all that matters. The Bible calls him a fool and he will burn in Hell when he dies (2nd Thessalonians 1:8,9). Please don't be deceived—if you die in your sins without the precious blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse your sins away—you will burn in Hellfire for all eternity!!! Mr. Osteen is very wrong... dead wrong! God has already looked at our hearts, and we are wicked... Jeremiah 17:9 states, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" We are all dirty, rotten sinners (Romans 3:10,19-23) in need of Christ's righteousness. Proverb 28:26 warns, "He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool..." The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 15:18, "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies." Mankind's heart is deceitfully wicked. The only hope is through Jesus Christ, through His precious blood that saves us... "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." Joel Osteen’s refusal to confess the sole redemptive salvation found in the Lord Jesus Christ clearly reveals him as a liar and an antichrist (1st John 2:22). There is ONLY one way to Heaven—through the Lord Jesus Christ! With Heaven in mind, Joel Osteen might just be the most worthless preacher in America. Please don't misunderstand. Joel Osteen is a fantastic motivational speaker. Joel is a very likeable and friendly guy. Osteen is charming and is worth visiting just to watch his big smile. But from a Biblical standpoint Joel Osteen couldn't preach his way out of a paperbag. Joel doesn't teach the doctrine of Christ. You'll never learn about the Rapture, the Tribulation, the mysteries of God, the virgin birth, the blood atonement, Christ's deity, et cetera. Joel's church is about Rock music, fun, crying and feeling better after you leave. Tragically, none of that will get you to Heaven. None of that will compel you to dedicate your life to go to the mission field as a soul-winner. The most dangerous thing about Joel Osteen's ministry is what you're NOT going to get; namely, THE TRUTH!!! I'm not trying to be critical or negative, but the plain truth is that Joel Osteen is pulling on the same rope as the Devil. By remaining silent concerning sin, judgment and Hell's fire, Osteen is laying up judgment against himself, who damnation slumbereth not (2nd Peter 2:1-3). Joel Osteen may be a valuable motivational speaker for companies, but he is A LOUSY PREACHER OF THE TRUTH! Joel Osteen is a fool for neglecting the Word of God. You cannot just selectively pick and choose which doctrines to teach. Joel Osteen's ministry serves the secular whims of all religions and lifestyles. Although he openly admits that he believes homosexuality is a sin when asked by Oprah, you'll never hear him say it from the pulpit. The architects of the New World Order don't mind if you're against the sin of homosexuality, just so long as you don't promote it publicly and make an issue of it. So they promote Osteen's apostasy. It's a glamorized social club, not a church! Most churches have become entertainment centers with large overhead TV projection screens, tantalizing videos and captivating music. A handful of religious companies are canning these videos, music and presentations for churches to purchase and implement. It's like people no longer know how to get a hold of God and operate a church. So they buy an instant church package instead. I'm not kidding! Churches are afraid of liability lawsuits, so they're hiring pastors with accredited degrees in psychology. Many churches want a pastor with two degrees, one in theology and the other in psychology. I visited a Southern Baptist Church where the senior pastor had two college degrees, as I mentioned. He said some good things, great in fact, but he didn't preach the Word of God. Many pastors can say some great things, but a preacher is supposed to teach and preach the truths of the Word of God. The great need of the hour is not psychology; but rather, preaching preachers! There can be NO salvation without the preaching of the Law against sin. God only saves sinners. Romans 4:5 says that God saves THE UNGODLY! God doesn't save self-righteous people who have no need of The Great Physician. Mark 2:17, “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” It's time for Christians to become more concerned about the lost souls of sinners, than they are about the local bowling league! Watching M.A.S.H. and Love Boat reruns aren't going to save America! Watching The Big Bang Theory and American Dad aren't going to make a hill of beans different for God in Heaven. Joel Osteen won't save America. If our nation is going to be brought back to God, it must happen from the ground-up. That can only happen when our individual homes turn toward God in prayer, seek God's face and turn from our wicked ways. You may think that it's a blessing for your family to attend a church like Lakewood in Houston where Joel Osteen is pastor, but you're cursed. Your family needs hell-raising preaching! Joel Osteen can make you feel better and good in the short-term, but how will you feel in the long-run when you stand account to God for your life? What did you do to try to bring sinners to the Jesus with the gospel? Salvation Crystal Clear By Dr. Curtis Hutson (1934-1995) The other day someone told me about a friend who very seldom, if ever, attended Wednesday night prayer meeting. He said we were after him all the time about it. One day he told us about this man who died and went to Heaven. According to the story, God was in an office, and people were standing outside, waiting to go in. One at a time God took each of them into the office, kept him awhile and then dismissed him and called for the next one. He said this one man came out smiling. When his friends asked what he was smiling about, he laughed and said, "He's not counting Wednesday nights!" After I had finished laughing, I said, "You know something? He's right. God does not count Wednesday nights. As a matter of fact, He doesn't even count Sunday mornings or Sunday nights. He doesn't count tithing. He doesn't even count baptism. When it comes to going to Heaven, God only counts one thing, and that is Jesus and what He did on the cross two thousand years ago. God Does Not Count Good Works God does not count good works in any form or fashion. The Bible says in Titus 3:5, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us...." And the Scripture declares in Ephesians 2:8,9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." There is not one verse in all the Bible that says anything about working to go to Heaven. The truth of the matter is, a man could go to church Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night every week of his life and still die and go to Hell. One does not become a Christian by getting into the church any more than one becomes an automobile by getting into the garage. Joining the church has nothing to do with going to Heaven. Once a man is saved, he ought to join a good church, a place where he can at tend, enjoy the fellowship of other believers and learn from the Bible what God expects of him, a place where he can be involved in helping to get out the Gospel. But church membership comes after salvation, and no one should ever join a church until he is first sure that he is saved. If salvation were by works of any kind, then somewhere the Scripture would have to tell us exactly how much one must work in order to be saved. Would Sunday morning and Sunday night church services be enough, or must one go to every service, including Wednesday nights? And must one also tithe his income and give to the poor? Exactly how much work is required before a man can go to Heaven? There is no passage anywhere in the Bible that answers the question. If a man worked in order to be saved, then the motive for the work would render it ineffective. According to I Corinthians 13, any work not motivated by love for Christ is not acceptable. Paul said in I Corinthians 13:3, "And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity [love], it profiteth me nothing." If a man worked in order to be saved, the motive for his service would not be love but fear. He would be working because he was afraid he was going to Hell, not because he loved God. Thus the motive would render the work unacceptable. Matthew 7:22,23 makes it very clear that no one goes to Heaven on his good works. Here the Scripture says, "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Here is a judgment scene where people tell the Lord all about their good works, thinking He will let them into Heaven. But in verse 23 the Lord says, "I never knew you: depart from me." And then He calls their good works 'works of iniquity.' Once we receive Christ as Saviour, we should set out to serve Him and do all the good works we can. Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works ...." But we work because we love Him, not in order to be saved. When it comes to salvation, good works, no matter how good or how many, are absolutely futile. Romans 11:6 says, "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work." No, God doesn't count our good works. The truth in the man's story was absolutely right: God does not count Wednesday nights. Neither does He count Sunday mornings, Sunday nights or any other nights. Salvation is not a result of what we do for Christ but rather a result of what He does for us. A man who died in a cheap hotel room in one of our great western states left a poem behind, part of which said, I've tried in vain a thousand ways, My fears to quell, my hopes to raise; And all I need, the Bible says, Is Jesus! He went on to say, Though some will mock, and some will blame; In spite of fear, in spite of shame, I'll go to Him because His name Is Jesus! The man who wrote the above lines had squandered a fortune in search of peace and happiness, but he never found either until he realized that Jesus Christ was all he needed and accepted Him as Saviour. God Does Not Count Our Righteousness If a man went to Heaven on his own righteousness, he would have to be as holy and as righteous as God Himself. And no man except Jesus Christ has ever been that righteous. God is so righteous that no man can look upon God and live. In Exodus 33:18 Moses said to God, "I beseech thee, shew me thy glory." And God replied in verses 20-23, "Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.... Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. The average Christian lives and dies and never has the foggiest idea of how holy and righteous God really is. In Isaiah 6:1-3 the prophet said, "In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory." According to these verses, the seraphims in Heaven are flying around the throne of God singing, "Holy, holy, holy!" They could be singing, "Justice, justice, justice!" for God is just. They could be singing, "Love, love, love!" for God is love. They could be singing, "Mercy, mercy, mercy!" for God is merciful. They could be singing, "Longsuffering, longsuffering, longsuffering!" for God is longsuffering. But, no, they are singing, "Holy, holy, holy!" And the seraphims that sang, "Holy, holy, holy!" have their faces covered with two of their wings. They are not even looking upon the God they are singing about. John 3:3 says, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Verse 5 says that he cannot enter the kingdom of God, but this verse says that he cannot see the kingdom of God. If I go to Heaven, then I must be as holy and righteous as God Himself. And I cannot be that righteous. Isaiah 64:6 reminds us, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. . . ." In Romans 10:1-4 Paul says, "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteous ness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." Here Paul speaks of religious folks, zealous folks, but folks who do not know the way of salvation. They were trying to establish their own righteousness, not knowing that all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags in God's sight. How sad that multiplied millions of people throughout the world are trying to qualify for Heaven by living right, not knowing that their righteousnesses are as filthy rags in God's sight! They, like the people Paul wrote about, are going about to establish their own righteousness, not realizing that "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth" (Romans 10:4). Heaven is not a reward for those who behave; it is a gift for those who believe. My son Tony and his friend Melvin, who recently trusted Christ as Saviour, have been trying to win an older man to Christ. The man keeps insisting that he has to get better first. Melvin, a brand new Christian, demonstrated great wisdom when he said, "Dr. Hutson, the man wants to get well before he goes to the hospital." I said, "You're right, Melvin. A man doesn't get better to get saved; he gets saved to get better." No, God doesn't count our righteousness. God Does Not Count Baptism Contrary to the teaching of many when it comes to salvation, God does not count baptism. Baptismal regeneration was first taught by the Catholic church and later picked up by several other denominations. Those who think that God requires water baptism as an entrance into Heaven teach that the water washes away sins. The only thing that remits sins is the blood of Christ. Hebrews 9:22 says, ". . . without shedding of blood is no remission." If one had to be baptized to have his sins remitted, then what would he do with the sins he committed after he was saved? Suppose a man was baptized twenty years ago. Since then he has committed many sins. Remember, no one lives absolutely perfect and above sin. First John 1:10 says, "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." Now if baptism were necessary to remit sins, then this man would need to be baptized again in order to have remitted the sins he had committed since he had been saved. But if he is baptized the second time, then what will he do with the sins he commits after the second baptism? Of course, if water were necessary to wash away sins, then he must be baptized again and again and again. Every time he commits a sin, he would have to be baptized again to have his sins washed away. If baptism is really necessary to remit sin, then a person not only should be baptized; he should get into the baptistry and refuse to ever get out lest he commit some sin after he gets out of the baptistry and die before he can get back into the water. If baptism does remit sins, then Jesus Himself never remitted or forgave any man of his sins because the Bible plainly says in John 4:2, "Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples." Those who teach that one must be baptized in order to be saved further teach that one can lose his salvation. Suppose a man believes in Christ, confesses Him, repents, is baptized and joins the church of the preacher who teaches baptismal regeneration. Then, accord ing to this preacher, he is saved. After a few years he goes back into sin and loses his salvation. Being disturbed about his condition, he goes back to the church and wants to be saved again. Does that same church insist that he be baptized again? No, they do not. If water baptism were necessary for salvation the first time, then how could he possibly be saved the second time without being baptized? That is just one of the contradictions and inconsistencies of those who teach that water baptism is necessary for salvation. If water baptism were necessary for salvation, then none of the Old Testament saints were saved because baptism was not mentioned one single time in the Old Testament, and there is no record of a single individual ever being baptized before John the Baptist began baptizing converts in the New Testament. Those who argue that baptism is essential to salvation teach one plan of salvation for those in the Old Testament and a different plan of salvation for those in the New Testament. But the Scripture teaches that all men are saved the same way in every dispensation or age. Acts 10:43 says, "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." Now notice very carefully: this was the message of all the prophets. The Old Testament prophets preached remission of sins by faith in Christ. The New Testament prophets preached remission of sins by faith in Christ. And those who preach the truth today are still preaching remission of sins by faith in Christ. When it comes to salvation, God did not count baptism in the Old Testament. He did not count baptism in the New Testament, and He does not count baptism today. The message today is the same message all the prophets witnessed: ". . . that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." What Does God Really Count? It would be almost impossible to discuss in this article the multitude of things which people believe are necessary for salvation. The Roman Catholics believe you must receive all seven sacraments. The Seventh-day Adventists believe you must keep the old Jewish Sabbath, along with the other nine commandments. The Moslems think that, if one dies defending his religion, he goes straight to Heaven. The Scripture warns in Proverbs 14:12, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." And the Bible says in Isaiah 55:8, "... neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." God's way of salvation is made clear in the Bible. Ephesians 2:8,9 settles the matter once and for all: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of your selves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Here the Bible says it is 'not of ourselves,' "Not of works, lest any man should boast." It is by grace through faith. Grace is the unmerited favor of God. Someone gave this acrostic for GRACE: "God's Riches At Christ's Expense." Grace and works cannot be mixed. To add any works to grace destroys grace completely. It is all of grace, or it is not grace at all. Jesus Christ came to the earth and lived a perfect, sinless life. Hebrews 4:15 says, "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feel ing of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Second Corinthians 5:21 says, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin. . . . " While Jesus Christ was being crucified between two thieves, one thief said to the other in Luke 23:40,41, "Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss." The word amiss means "wrong." Even the thief on the cross recognized that Jesus was the sinless, spotless Son of God. Before Pilate turned Christ over to the angry mob, he said in John 19:6, "I find no fault in him." Jesus Christ was the only person who ever lived as righteous as God Himself. And when we trust Christ, we are given His righteousness. That is the clear promise of the Bible in Romans 10:4 where the Scripture says, "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." God does not count my righteousness, but He does count the righteousness of His Son. The Bible says in Romans 4:3, "...Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness." And then the Scripture further promises in Romans 4:5, "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." The only way anyone can ever be righteous enough to go to Heaven is by receiving God's own righteousness by faith. Not only did Jesus Christ live a perfectly righteous life; He died a substitutionary death. Two thousand years ago God took every sin we ever have committed and all we ever will commit, and He placed those sins on Christ. Isaiah 53:6 says, ". . . the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." And Titus 2:14 says, "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity. . ." What blessed truth! God took the iniquities of all men and laid those iniquities on Christ. But He not only took the iniquities of all men and laid them on Christ; He took all the iniquities of men and laid them on Christ. And the Bible says in I Peter 2:24, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree. . . . " While Christ was bearing our sins in His own body, God punished Him in our place to pay the debt we owe so that, when we die, we won't have to pay it. That's what the Bible means when it says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The other day I received a letter from a dear Jewish friend here in Murfreesboro, who reminded me that it wasn't the Jews who killed Christ. Rather, he said, "It was the Roman soldiers." Of course, this dear Jewish man was both right and wrong. He was right when he said it wasn't the Jews, but he was wrong when he said it was the Roman soldiers. It was neither the Jews nor the Roman soldiers. It was God Himself. The Scripture says in Isaiah 53:10, "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin. . .." It was God Himself who made His (Jesus') soul an offering for sin. Romans 8:32 says, "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" The Scriptures further explain in Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." The death of Jesus Christ on the cross was an expression of God's love for us. He loved us so much that He didn't want us to go to Hell, so He punished His Son in our place to pay the debt we owe so that we can go to Heaven on a free pass. My beloved predecessor Dr. Rice used to say, "Every man who goes to Heaven goes on a free pass, but he who goes to Hell pays his own way." And then he would quote Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Before Adam and Eve ever sinned, God demanded the death penalty. He said in Genesis 2:17, ". . . in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." God's payment for sin is death, the second death in the lake of fire. Revelation 20:14 says, "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." If we are to satisfy the just demands of a holy God, we must go into Hell and stay there forever and ever. But Jesus Himself satisfied God's demand. The prophet said in Isaiah 53:11, "He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied. . . ." Here the Scripture plainly states that God was satisfied with the payment Jesus made on the cross for our sins. He further showed that satisfaction by raising Jesus Christ from the dead and taking Him back to Heaven. If Christ had not accomplished what He came to do - ;that is, die for our sins - He would have never gone back to Heaven. But praise the Lord, He did the job! While He was hanging on the cross He uttered seven things. The sixth utterance was "It is finished" (John 19:30). And, dear friend, you can count on it: it was finished. There is nothing else to do but to accept Jesus Christ by faith, to trust Him, to depend on Him. The man was right: God does not count Wednesday nights. He doesn't count Sunday mornings or Sunday nights or any other nights. God does not count our own righteousness. He does not count our good works. He does not count baptism or any other ceremony or ritual. He only counts one thing: the death of His Son Jesus Christ. And the Scripture plainly says in Isaiah 53:11 that He was satisfied with the sacrifice His Son made for our sins. If Jesus Christ said it was finished and God Himself said He was satisfied, then why can't we be satisfied with Christ's death and not add anything to it? The only way to show that you are satisfied with Christ's death for your sins is to trust Him and Him alone for salvation. If you trust anything else, then it is evident that you are not satisfied with Christ and what He did at Calvary. If you trust Jesus Christ, plus your baptism, then you are not satisfied with Christ: you must add to Him baptism. If you trust Jesus Christ plus your good works, then you are not satisfied with Christ: you must add to Him good works. If you trust Jesus Christ plus your church membership, then you are not satisfied with Christ: you must add church membership. If you trust Jesus Christ plus your reformation, then you are not satisfied with Christ: you must add your reformation. Now, I am a church member. I have been baptized. I was baptized when I was eleven years old. I try to live right. I have been preaching since I was twenty years old. I travel every week of my life going from church to church throughout this country to preach the Gospel. As I dictate this sermon, I am driving to Lowell, Indiana. Next week I will be in Wadsworth, Ohio. But I do none of these things to be saved. My only hope of Heaven is the fact that Jesus Christ died for me. He paid my sin debt. And I am trusting Him alone for salvation. I am not trusting my good works, my church membership, my baptism or anything else. When we stand before God, the only thing that He will count is what His Son did at Calvary. When the children of Israel were in Egyptian bondage, God sent plagues upon Pharaoh. Finally God said, 'The firstborn in every house is going to die.' But He gave the Israelites instructions to kill an innocent lamb and sprinkle the blood on the doorposts of the house. And God promised in Exodus 12:13, "When I see the blood, I will pass over you." He did not say, 'When I see your church membership, I will pass over you.' He did not say, 'When I see your good life, I will pass over you.' He did not say, 'When I see your good works, I will pass over you.' He did not say, 'When I see your baptism, I will pass over you.' No, no, no! He said, "When I see the blood, I will pass over you." The only thing that counted with God was the death of the lamb. And when it comes to salvation the only thing that counts with God today is the death of Jesus Christ the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. If you are counting on anything other than Jesus Christ to take you to Heaven, then you are counting on something that God doesn't count. Won't you trust Christ today? If you are not absolutely sure that there was a time in your life when you knew you were a sinner and made a definite decision to trust Jesus Christ completely for salvation, then we urge you to trust Him now.

It is very simple to be saved and takes only a minute to explain. Please let me show you how to get to Heaven from the Bible, God's Word... Man is a Sinner in the Eyes of a Holy God. Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Romans 3:19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” There is a Price For Our Sin―Burning in Hell Forever. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” 2nd Thessalonians 1:8, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Revelation 20:15, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Jesus paid that price by dying on the cross and shedding His blood; Christ was buried and bodily rose again the third day! Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” 1st Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1st Peter 1:18-19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ...” 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” This is the Gospel. By faith in Jesus Christ ALONE we are immediately saved. The LORD JESUS CHRIST! Simply BELIEVE the Gospel and You Are Saved! The Heresy Of Having To “Pray” To Be Saved Fundamentalist Heresy! (In this awesome sermon by Pastor Jack Hyles, he explains that prayer, turning from sins, inviting Jesus into your heart, and other popular clichés are not necessary to be saved. They are not wrong to do, just so long as you don't do them to get or stay saved!) My friend, for most of my Christian life I have led people to pray a sinner's prayer to be saved. Although this is not wrong to do, it is an extra step that the Bible does NOT require, which may confuse some people. You don't have to “ask” Jesus to save you, because God has already promised “TO SAVE THEM THAT BELIEVE” (1st Corinthians 1:21). We read in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life” [emphasis added]. The way to be saved is to BELIEVE THE GOSPEL!!! Do you admit that you are a GUILTY sinner, under the condemnation of God's LAW, deserving of Hellfire? Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God (God in the flesh) who died upon the cross, sacrificing His precious blood to pay for your sins? Do you believe that Jesus was buried and bodily resurrected three days later? This is the Good News of the Gospel... Jesus DIED ON THE CROSS, He was BURIED and He is RISEN! Believe it friend, make it your only hope for eternal life, and you are saved!!! Amen! To be saved you simply come to God by faith, as a guilty sinner, and BELIEVE the Gospel. You must know that you are a sinner. No man ever got saved who didn't know that he is a sinner. Repentance is that thing when you come before God and see yourself as you are, and see Him as he is, and say with Isaiah “Woe is me, for I am unclean!” Repentance is simply a change of mind, where you admit that you are a woeful sinner totally incapable of saving yourself. Thus, you believe the Gospel (Good News) of the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. Perhaps you'd feel comfortable praying a sinner's prayer as did the publican in Luke 18:13... “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto Heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” It doesn't matter exactly what you pray, because you're saved by BELIEVING, not by praying. But if you'd like to pray as an expression of your faith, you could pray something like this. ... Dear Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner deserving of Hell. I am guilty for breaking your holy commandments. I believe that you died on the cross to pay for my sins, was buried, and bodily resurrected three days later. Please forgive me of my sins and take me to Heaven when I die. I now believe upon You alone, apart from all self-righteous works and religion, as my personal Savior. Thank you. Amen.

“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” —John 1:10–13. There are two groups in the world. Not everyone is a child of God. There is a modern teaching concerning the universal Fatherhood of God and the universal brotherhood of man, but here we read: “But as many as received him [Jesus], to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” I think the word “sons” here could be translated “children” because it has reference both to men and women. In John 8:44 Jesus said to another group, “Ye are of your father the devil.” So there are plainly two groups in the world: those who have trusted Jesus Christ as Saviour, and thus God is their Father by regeneration; and those who have never done anything about the matter of salvation and are lost. Every person in this room this morning is in one of those two groups. Do You Know You Are a Child of God? Suppose I were to ask you this morning, “If you were to die today, do you know for sure you would go to Heaven?” If you say, “I hope so,” or, “I think so,” or, “My chances are good,” then just regard that as “No.” If you “hope so,” that indicates you lack assurance of salvation. “Well, Dr. Hutson, nobody can really answer that question. Nobody can say for sure that if he dies, he will go to Heaven,” you say. I beg to differ with you. The entire First Epistle of John was written for that purpose. In I John 5:13 the apostle says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” Paul said, “For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded [thoroughly convinced] that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day” (II Tim. 1:12). In Job 19:25,26 Job said, “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God.” That is assurance. The blind songwriter, Fanny Crosby, wrote: Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. I trusted Jesus when I was eleven years old; but I lacked assurance of salvation, not knowing upon what to base my assurance. One day I would think I was saved, and the next, I would wonder if maybe I was wrong about it and perhaps was lost; until finally I came out of the darkness of doubt into the broad daylight of certainty. I based my assurance on the promise of God, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life” (John 3:36). I decided either I have everlasting life or God’s Word is not true. The only thing I can doubt is that I am trusting Him or that He meant what He said, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.” When I doubted I was trusting Him, I didn’t argue about it; I just prayed again and told the Lord if I had never trusted Him, I was then trusting Him. When the Devil would say, “How do you know you are trusting Him?” I would pray out loud, “Dear Lord, if I have never trusted You, I am trusting You now.” Immediately all doubt would leave. I am more sure that I am going to Heaven when I die than I am sure I am standing on this platform. I am more sure that I am going to Heaven when I die than I am sure that I am married. And I know I’m married. Suppose somebody had asked me a few minutes after I was married, “Are you married?” and I answered, “Well, I hope so.” “What do you mean, you hope so?” “Well, I can’t say for sure.” Everyone knows for sure whether he is married, divorced or single. And everyone who is saved ought to know it. Everyone ought to know that when he dies, he is going to Heaven—and he can know it. It is the birthright of every born-again, blood-washed believer. You are in one group or the other. You are either a child of God by faith in Jesus Christ, or you are a child of the Devil by the fact that you simply never trusted Jesus Christ as Saviour. One fellow arguing with Billy Sunday said, “Yes, I’m a child of God.” Billy Sunday asked, “Where do you get that?” “We are all children of God by creation.” Sunday replied, “The Lord created the monkey and the donkey. Does that make them your brothers?” You are not God’s child by creation. You are God’s child by regeneration. How Does One Become a Child of God? “He came unto his own, and his own received him not. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”—John 1:11,12. “Not of Blood” Now, look at verse 13: “Which were born”—that is the new birth. Then it goes to the negative side: “not of blood.” This simply means you are not a Christian because your father was a Christian or your grandfather was a Christian. You are not going to Heaven because you belong to a religious family. On a train one day Dr. Ironside asked a man about his salvation. “O Sir, religion runs in my family,” he answered. Dr. Ironside said, “The only thing that runs in your family is your sinful nature.” Someone said there is a little spark of divinity in all of us and all it needs is a little fanning to flame up. There is a little devil in all of us, but I have never found a little spark of divinity in anybody. When a baby loses his temper, Mamma says, “He’s just like his daddy!” He loses his temper again, and his daddy says, “He’s just like his mother!” I have said that. But the truth is, he is like both his mother AND daddy. When you get the devil that is in Mamma and the devil that is in Daddy together in the child, you have a devil of a mess! Oh, you think yours is a little angel. No. He has a sinful heart. My children were not born saying, “Yes, Sir,” and “Yes, Ma’am,” and “Thank you.” We had to slap their hands and say, “You give it back if you can’t say, ‘Thank you.’” Yes, they would say, “Thank you,” but not mean it. They had no real gratitude because of their sinful nature. Something inside was pulling them in the wrong direction. The Bible says you are “born, not of blood….” You do not owe your second birth to blood. The only thing you inherit from your parents is your sin nature, the thing inside that drives you in the wrong direction. In Psalm 51:5 David said, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” Romans 5:12 states, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Romans 5:19 reads, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners.” You were born with something inside that pulled you in the wrong direction, and that is called a sin nature. You are not a sinner because you sin; you sin because you are a sinner. Sins don’t make the sinner; the sinner makes the sins. Sins are the fruit; sin is the root. You do what you do because you are what you are. You are not born again of blood. No matter if your mother sings in the choir, your father receives the offering, your brother leads in prayer and your sister shouts while they sing—unless you are born of the Spirit, you will go to Hell when you die! You can join every church in town and be baptized in every creek in your county, but if you are not born again, you are on your way to Hell. “Nor…of the Flesh” Second, he said, “Which were born, not…of the will of the flesh.” Nothing you can do in your flesh will save you. Now I am for reformation, as long as reformation is in the right place; but if reformation is used as an instrument of salvation, then I detest reformation. The fellow who believes he can gain acceptance before a holy God by reforming his life is as lost as a goose! The Bible says in Isaiah 64:6, “All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” Not the worst you can do but the best you can do is like a dirty, filthy rag in God’s sight. I will probably shock you with this statement: I had as soon trust my sins to get me to Heaven as to trust my righteousness. I don’t think any man would press his dying pillow and start bragging, “I deserve Heaven because I’ve lived so good! I don’t smoke, chew nor run with those who do!” I’m living right, but none will go to Heaven because they live right. “Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh….” That leaves out everything having to do with the flesh, including baptism. I’m a Baptist. We baptized more converts than any other church in the state of Georgia. For the last three years, we baptized over eight hundred converts each year. But we know one is not saved by being baptized. I am for reforming. When a man is saved, he ought to live right. But until he is saved, he doesn’t have anything with which to live right. The Christian life is not an imitation of the Christ life. The Christian life is Jesus living in you, according to Paul’s statement in Galatians 2:20: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” “Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh….” You can turn over a new leaf, but you don’t need a new leaf; you need a new life. You can resolve to live better, but you don’t need a resolution; you need regeneration. You can join, but you don’t need joining; you need Jesus. “…Nor of the Will of Man” No man can do one thing to bring about this regeneration. That leaves the Catholic priest out. Catholics believe that when they baptize an infant, it does away with his original sin and keeps him out of limbo in case he dies in infancy but it won’t keep him out of Hell unless he gets all seven sacraments—seven channels of grace, so to speak. They call the priest “Father” because he gives them their spiritual birth when he baptizes them. But new birth doesn’t come through any rite performed by the Catholic priest nor any rite performed by the Baptist preacher nor of the will of any man, no matter who he is. “…But of God”—Receive Him “Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” If you do not become a child of God by the will of the flesh or by blood or by the will of man, then how do you become a child of God? “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” How does it take place? There it is in verse 12: “But as many as received him”—not “as many as received it,” but, “As many as received him.” Salvation is not a program; it is a Person. Salvation is not an endurance test; it is a Person. “As many as received him”—Jesus Christ—to them gave He the right to become the sons of God. What does “As many as received him [Jesus]” mean? I don’t see Jesus. Where is He? You show me Him, and I’ll receive Him. I can’t see Him. What does it mean to receive Jesus? The last expression in the verse explains it: “…even to them that believe on his name.” To receive Jesus is to believe on Jesus. If I understand anything about salvation, there is one determining factor: faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. The Bible has many such verses: “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”—John 3:36. Here Jesus divides the world into two groups. He again divides the world into two groups: “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”—John 3:18. “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”—Mark 16:16. Why will men be damned? Because they won’t believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. It doesn’t say, “He that believeth not and is baptized not and does not keep the Ten Commandments and does not receive the seven sacraments and does not get the last rites shall be damned.” It just says, “He that believeth not shall be damned.” Someone asked Dr. Bob Jones, Sr., “Doesn’t the Bible say, ‘He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved’?” Dr. Bob answered, “Yes. And the rest of it says, ‘He that believeth not shall be damned.’” He continued: “Sir, that is like saying, ‘He that getteth on the plane and sitteth down shall fly to Tampa, Florida; but he that getteth not on the plane shall not fly to Tampa, Florida.’” It is the getting on that gets you there, not the sitting down. And “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” It is the believing that gets you saved, not the being baptized. But any sensible person knows if you get on an airplane, you ought to sit down! And any sensible person knows if you get saved, you ought to be baptized. But faith is the determining factor in salvation. A lady had been a Christian only a few years. After she died, her son came to me and asked, “Do you think my mother went to Heaven?” I said, “Yes.” Then he asked, “Do you really think my mother was good enough to go to Heaven?” I answered, “No.” “Well,” he said, “you contradicted yourself. You said you thought my mother went to Heaven; then you turned right around and told me you didn’t think she was good enough to go to Heaven.” I said, “I didn’t contradict myself. I do think she went to Heaven, but she didn’t go to Heaven on her goodness; she went to Heaven on Christ’s goodness. Her righteousnesses were like filthy rags; but when she put her faith in Jesus Christ and confessed herself a poor, lost sinner and trusted Jesus Christ completely for salvation, she had imputed to her the righteousness of God. And she is as righteous in God’s sight as Jesus Christ Himself.” That is enough to make a Presbyterian shout! How does one become a child of God? “…not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” How does it happen? “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” That simply means if you put your case in His hands, believe you are a sinner, believe Jesus Christ died for you, believe He paid your sin debt at Calvary, and trust Him completely, without reservation, you are going to Heaven. I don’t know about you, but I’m afraid to trust myself. I try to live right. I think I could brag a little, maybe, in the things I have never done: I don’t know what whiskey tastes like; I don’t know what beer tastes like; I never gambled in my life. I’m glad I lived like that, but I would just as soon go to Heaven and tell God how bad I have been as to tell Him how good I have been and expect Him to let me in, because all my righ-teousness stinks in His sight. I have to have something better than what I can do. “Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 5:20). There is not a Christian I know of who lives as righteous as scribes and Pharisees. You have to have something better than they had. They wouldn’t eat an egg laid on the Sabbath Day! They tithed everything. I don’t know one Christian who has always given a tenth of his income from the time he was saved. I don’t live as good as the scribes and Pharisees, but Jesus did; and I am Dressed in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne. The only way you will get there is through Jesus—J-E-S-U-S: Jesus Exactly Suits Us Sinners Jesus paid our debt and suffered our Hell; and “as many as received him [believed on Him, trusted Him], to them gave he power to become the sons of God.” If you are trusting Jesus plus something, you are lost. The “plus” will send you to Hell. If I put my confidence in this little clergy seat to hold me up, with ninety percent of my weight on it and ten percent on a rope, the ten percent destroys the ninety percent, because the ten percent says I am not fully, completely trusting this chair—just in case it won’t do it, I want this rope. And you are not going to Heaven until you fully, completely, unreservedly, wholeheartedly trust Jesus Christ to get you to Heaven. Set out to be the best Christian you can be. Be baptized as the first act of obedience after salvation. Join a Bible-believing church where you can serve God. Learn the Bible. Grow in grace. Become a witness and try to win your friends to Christ. Try to raise a good Christian family and be a good example. I hope, if you have trusted Christ, you will make up your mind about these other things. I hope, if you have never really trusted Him completely, that you will throw yourself on Him this morning and say in the words of the songwriter: My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. Editor Urges You to Be Sure You Are Saved God has given us the written Word as the basis of our assurance of salvation. And Dr. Hutson has quoted many Scriptures showing how one may know he is saved. Salvation is a free gift, and all one can do is receive it. Our only hope of Heaven is the promise God has given us in His Word: “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life” (John 3:36). If you will trust Christ as Saviour—that is, believe on Him—you can know you have everlasting life because God says so. What does it mean to believe on Christ? It means to trust, to put one’s full confidence in Jesus and rest in Him for salvation. There is no promise in the Bible to those who partially believe on Jesus. One must fully trust Jesus and nothing else. He who is trusting Jesus plus his baptism is not fully trusting Jesus. One who trusts Jesus plus the sacraments is not fully trusting Jesus. One who is trusting Jesus plus his church membership, good life, morality, promises to do better, or anything else, is not fully trusting Jesus. It is Jesus, period. One should live as good as he possibly can, but he doesn’t go to Heaven because he lives good. He goes to Heaven because Jesus Christ paid his sin debt, and he trusts Christ as his Saviour. If you have never trusted Him, will you do so now? Romans 10:13 says, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” If you will trust Him, I suggest you pray this simple prayer: Dear Lord, I admit I’m a sinner. I do believe You died for me and arose from the grave to be my Saviour. I do right now trust You to forgive my sin and save me. From this moment, I am fully depending on You to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank You for paying my sin debt and receiving me as Your child. Amen. Dailey and the Washington D.C.-based Family Research Council recently confirmed what police and psychiatrists have known for decades: a definitive link exists between male homosexuality and pedophilia. The report entitled Homosexuality and Child Sexual Abuse, shows that while homosexual men make up less than three per cent of the adult male population, they commit a disproportionate number (one third or more) of child sexual molestations. Dailey's report is being sent to parents, youth groups, school administrators, Catholic bishops, and religious organizations. Homosexuality and Child Sexual Abuse presents a number of controversial findings. The first is that a significant percentage of child sexual abuse victims are boys. The second finding of Dailey's report contradicts the "inaccurate but widely accepted claims of sex researcher Alfred Kinsey" that homosexuals comprise at least 10 per cent of the population. Based upon a study of three large data sets, the General Social Survey, the National Health and Social Life Survey, and the U.S. Census, "a recent study in demography estimates the number of exclusive male homosexuals in the general population at 2.5 per cent, and the number of exclusive lesbians at 1.4 per cent," writes Dailey. The FRC study also demonstrates, with a wealth of anecdotal evidence, that pedophile themes can be found throughout "mainstream" gay literature, including fiction anthologies such as: The Penguin Book on International Gay Writing, The Gay Canon: What Every Gay Man Should Read, and A History of Gay Literature: The Male Tradition. Interestingly, the late gay Beat poet Allen Ginsberg was a pedophile, and wrote articles for publications associated with the North American Man-Boy Love Association. "I reread Collected Poems and Ginsberg's two subsequent collections, surprised by the pattern of reference to anal intercourse and to pederasty that emerged," writes Dailey. According to Homosexuality and Child Sexual Abuse, pedophiles have long existed as a subculture within the gay rights movement. Dailey quotes David Thorstad, a homosexual activist and founding member of NAMBLA, to demonstrate that by 1985, pedophilia had gained acceptance within the homosexual movement, as it was in that year that NAMBLA was admitted as a member in New York's council of Lesbian and Gay Organizations and the International Gay Association. In the words of Jim Kepner, at one time the curator of the International Gay and Lesbian Archives in Los Angeles: "A point I've been trying to make is that if we reject the boylovers in our midst today, we'd better stop waving the banner of the ancient Greeks, of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Oscar Wilde, Walt Whitman, Horatio Alger, and Shakespeare. We'd better stop claiming them as part of our history unless we are broadening our concept of what it means to be gay." The link between homosexuality and pedophilia is rejected by many mainstream research groups, which have even begun to view pedophilia in value-neutral terms. The American Psychiatric Association removed pedophilia from its list of sexual perversions in 1994, while in 1999 the American Psychological Association published a report, "A Meta-Analytic Examination of Assumed Properties of Child Sexual Abuse Using College Samples," which "claimed child sexual abuse could be harmless and beneficial," according to a 1999 WorldNetDaily column by noted researcher Dr. Judith Reisman. "None of this is news in the sense that this information (the link between pedophilia and homosexuality) was fundamentally proven a long time ago," Canada Family Action head Brian Rushfeldt told The Interim, "but I'm glad to see the FRC reiterating it, especially at a time when the Catholic church is struggling with the pedophile priest issue." Rushfeldt stresses that pedophiles come in both homosexual and heterosexual forms, but there are differences between the two that need to be understood. "Do you treat the cocaine addict the same way you treat the alcoholic? If a priest abuses young boys, that's a homosexual act, and we have to recognize it as such if we want to help him." Asked why the link exists in the first place, Rushfeldt, a former addiction counselor, says part of the answer lies in the availability of sex. "Sex addicts generally need instant gratification. They have a very low threshold for delaying gratification, and it's much easier to manipulate a young boy into having sex than it is to manipulate another man." He adds that homosexual pedophilia is influenced by other factors as well. "There's a distinct quality about male homosexuality that gay men tend to be attracted to young, good-looking guys. Another part of pedophilia's appeal is the power the pedophile feels in manipulating the boy. It's a combination of things." END OF ARTICLE
