Views of five Bald Eagles challenging each other for a fish. Starts out with the Osprey divebombing the Eagle letting him/her know they are in it's territory. All captured from the deck of our AirBnB on the James River - about 20 years away. It was the perfect vacation spot with God's Blessings of my favorite passtime - watch Bald Eagles in the Wild.

A week on the banks of the James River - the gifts God sent our way so we could relax and enjoy the activity right from our deck. Dolphins, An Osprey pair soaring, the Juvies; one flying already, the other wingercizing to gain strength in his wings but not yet ready to fledge.

While vacationing in VA, these are the views from our deck overlooking the James River. They were about 1/2 mile away so it's the best I can do with my camera.

As the Bluebird Babies get ready to fledge, Mama and Papa BB work tirelessly for two days trying to lure them out with food as they defend their territory; chasing birds, small and large out from the area of the Nestbox. The afternoon before they fledge, they continue to clear the area chasing any birds even from the trees nearby.

The bluebirds in our yard had a second clutch again this year. During July, the temperatures and humidity became dangerously high so I was monitoring them closely. We were able to keep them safe without too much interference and cool them off so they survived the two-week heat wave and went on to fledge (all four) on July 21, 2022.

Claiming Territory over the Bluebird Feeder during a Winter Storm in March of 2022 - in Slo Mo.

Once a week sneak peeks shows the development of these beautiful birds. I chose to look in when the parents were off feeding the Juveniles from their first clutch. After day 13 or so, it's not safe to open the box since they may accidentally fledge too soon. Hopefully, I will catch them fledging out of the nestbox.

Captured at The Saratoga National Battlefield Park on the 10-mile drive through the park at mid-day. Luckily, I caught the initial movement and waited for her to pop up to see if I was still watching.

Also called Northern Oriole. The video with captions tells the story of the male first showing up and then spending the next 7 days calling for a mate until the female arrives in the area.

Just happened to be sitting outside at the right time with my camcorder. (I've seen eagles come flying straight over our yard, but didn't have my camcorder.)

Both male and female bluebirds have been to and fro feeding the nestlings about to fledge soon. Between catching live bugs and coming regularly to our Bluebird Feeder filled with a special Bluebird mix, they are busy morning 'til night.

The Pileated Woodpecker has started coming back to our yard. It's been a couple of years since we have seen them. A welcome Visitor anytime.

These two Bluebirds are last year's fledglings learning how to navigate the in's & out's of the Bluebird Feeder. It is always best not to interfere and let them figure things out on their own so they develop the necessary skills to survive in the wild.

Our Christmas Message to our family and friends, narrated by me (Kate). Included are captures of critters and birds we had visit throughout this past year which we consider a blessing from God. The creatures God sent to our yard were a respite during this difficult year of 2020 and we are full of gratitude that we are healthy and safe.
