2022 Hiking Collection
As we wrap up 2022, it’s amazing to look back over this past hiking year, and appreciate everything that was seen and accomplished!
This year, I was able to cover 130 miles of alpine wilderness, and climbed over 31,000 feet of elevation gain.

Alpine Lake // Sawtooth Mountains
At 7,600 feet, Alpine Lake sits tucked away in the Idaho Sawtooth Mountains. Taking the Iron Creek trail 4.5 miles east of the lake, we climbed 1,260 feet of elevation gain. This is an easy hike, with much reward at Alpine lake! From llama herds, towering peaks, and crystal clear lakes, this hike has something for anyone wanting to get lost in these mountains!

The Montana Bitterroot Valley holds many great hiking trails, but Bass Creek Trail is one of the most popular! The trail has a little bit of everything: Creek crossings, dense pine forests, open bear grass meadows, and glorious mountain views! From the trail head to the Bass Lake, the altitude gain is 3,100ft at 8 miles one way.

This weeks hike was the trail to Tamarack Lake! A beautiful 15 mile hike round trip in the Anaconda Wilderness with mountain lakes, and towering peaks every inch of the way! First official hike of 2022 was awesome! Fred Burr Trail is a sweet little 10 mile hike with some stunning views along the way! It’s a perfect day hike for the family.
