On May 18, 2022, parents at Glenoaks Elementary School received an email inviting them to a Parent Education Series sponsored by the Glenoaks Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Team. The event was called "Gender Identity and Community Support," and it was advertised as helping parents understand gender identity, learn about "supporting and rejecting behaviors," and understand "the impact of parental and community rejection." Glenoaks originally told parents that a recording would be made available for those who could not make it, but it had been two weeks and no recording was released. A parent sent this rumble account a recording done on their cellphone, and within two days of that rumble video being posted on here, Glenoaks Elementary released their official recording. GLENDALE, CA: Activists organize a ‘pride march’ before Glendale Unified’s school board meeting where parents had previously been called “homophobic and hateful,” by school board Vice President Jennifer Freemon. Parents were cursed at, given the finger and called names by teachers, activists and union members. Tammy Tiber, the GUSD teacher at the center of the leaked email controversy, spoke to the board and complained that parents “have been misled into furthering a hateful agenda.” She said, “On Teacher Appreciation Day, never have I felt so unappreciated.” In reality, parents were only exercising their civic rights by respectfully addressing the board regarding age-appropriate sex education for their children.
