How Does Gluten Cause So Many Different Types Of Symptoms & Health Issues?
Simply put, gluten elicits immune responses that can lead to tissue damage and inflammation. Traditionally, it was thought that gluten induced damage was limited to the intestines, but doctors and scientists now know that gluten can affect any tissue in the body. Add to this that gluten induced intestinal damage leads to malabsorption and malnutrition. Nutritional deficiencies are another reason why those with gluten sensitivity can develop a wide array of health issues. For example, mineral deficiencies can contribute to bone loss, iron deficiency to anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency to anxiety, depression, neuropathy, and fatigue. There are numerous connections between nutritional deficiencies and disease development.

Pain Is Inflammation!
Think you might be gluten sensitive? Take the quiz:
https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/gluten-sensitivity-intolerance-self-test/
While most see inflammation as a negative reaction, it’s actually a normal and natural process. With trauma, for example, as in a sprain or strain, the body pushes fluid and blood to the area of injury to help itself heal. Naturally, this causes a period of intense inflammation.
It becomes a problem, however, when it is elevated to a chronic, or ongoing, issue. Because it is used in the body to tear down old tissue in order for it to be replaced, chronic inflammation can start a continual process of breaking down good tissue. However, because it’s a natural process, it’s important to find the source of chronic inflammation to deal with that issue, rather than blocking it out completely.

Can Gluten Cause Bone Loss?
Nutritional support for bone health:
Ultra Bone Box: https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/shop/health-focus/joint-muscle/ultra-bone-box/
Ultra Pure Protein: https://www.glutenfreesociety.org/shop/health-focus/daily-wellness/ultra-pure-protein-unflavored/
Your bones are made up of mostly collagen and minerals, such as calcium. And the more you use them, the stronger they get. This is one of the many reasons why weight-bearing exercises are so important and become even more essential as we age.
However, in this video, I’m going to discuss the ways in which gluten can contribute to bone loss. Because you’re not likely to learn much about it elsewhere. Plus, prevention is the best medicine when it comes to osteoporosis. In fact, you may not know you have osteoporosis until you break a bone.

Crash Course on NAC - Dr. Osborne's Zone
Need NAC? Here is my recommendation - http://glutenfreesociety.org/UltraNAC
With all the stressors, toxins, and germs floating around in the air these days it’s no wonder our immune systems are on overdrive.
It’s one of the many reasons I recommend adding N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) to your daily routine.
NAC is an essential Amino acid and is a critical building block for the master antioxidant glutathione.
That’s why NAC is so valuable. It’s essential to:
- Your immune system
- Your liver health and detoxification functions
- Can reduce the side effects of OTC painkillers
- May help reduce the symptoms of respiratory issues by loosening the mucus in your air pathways
- Boost brain health by protecting your neurotransmitters.
And so much more.
This powerful amino acid is one of the most effective ways to reduce the symptoms of the cold or flu and can even help shorten the length of time you’re under the weather*
Join us LIVE on Tuesday night at 6PM Central as we take a deep dive into this amazing amino acid!

Mold Toxicity and Your Children with Dr. Pejman Katiraei
Pejman Katiraei (Dr. K) was born in Iran, and he and his parents had to flee their home to avoid persecution. His parents instilled in him a strong sense of morals, ethics and values. Dr. K was the curious child who always wanted to know how everything works. It was this curiosity that encouraged Dr. K to explore and later specialize in holistic and integrative medicine.
After UCLA, he went onto obtaining his osteopathic medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences. He then started his pediatric residency at Loma Linda University. Early in education and training, Dr. K questioned why some diseases “just happen” without any conventional explanation? Why would some patients die of horrible infections and others never have any problems?
Despite his clinical proficiency and education, Dr. K believes he can do more to help his patients. In May of 2012, he started a second fellowship in endobiogeny, which is a sophisticated study of how hormones and our nervous system interact with one another to control health and disease. This endless desire for professional growth and learning is a testament to Dr. K’s desire to help the sick regain their health and his commitment to keeping children healthy by identifying and treating subtle imbalances as early as possible before they ever turn into a disease. Dr. K hopes he can serve the children in Wholistic Kids and Families with the same mindset as the Chinese practitioners thousands of years ago.
Join us as Dr. O and Dr. K dive into mold, mycotoxins, and their surprising connections to the health of you and your children!

Drugs That Cause Gut Dysfunction
My favorite gut support supplement:
http://glutenfreesociety.org/GISoothe
Many prescription medications and even some over-the-counter drugs can cause intestinal distress and inflammation. Especially when taken long-term. Some commonly prescribed medications that can be problematic include:
NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)
Birth control pills
Antibiotics
Immunosuppressants
Corticosteroids
Antacids
Unfortunately, these are the same drugs frequently used to treat inflammatory gut conditions. Thus, they can make matters worse if the root cause of inflammation isn’t determined and addressed.
It’s also worth noting that some medications can cause nutrient deficiencies, which can deprive your intestinal cells, alter your gut bacteria, inhibit your immune system, promote inflammation, and lead to dysfunction.
