Persistent shark pesters Lionfish hunter for food
Lionfish have become a problem in the Caribbean. They are an invasive species that were introduced into the waters when they were released by people keeping them as pets in aquariums in Florida. The Gulf Stream facilitated the transport of eggs and larvae and the rest is history. They can decimate of reef and eat anything and everything they see, and occasionally even each other! The results have been devastating, so in order to combat this invasion it has become common practice to cull for Lionfish in order to keep their numbers down. Lionfish meat is delicious and the restaurants are happy to add it to the menu, so nothing is wasted! One of the “benefits” of culling is the interest other sea critters show. This particular nurse shark repeatedly bumps the diver, doing its best to convince him to give him a fish!

Friendly Nassau grouper loves to be pet by diver
Gary the Nassau grouper lives on the Bloody Bay Wall in Little Cayman and comes running whenever he sees a diver. He certainly looks like he craves attention and will not let you be without showing him some love.
Out of all the grouper, the Nassau variety are the least shy and will readily approach divers. However, since they are a favorite in both sports and commercial fishing, the Nassau grouper is labeled as endangered on the endangered species list!
Gary here will reach the weight of approximately 55 pounds and will be 3 feet in length when he is full-grown. Give Gary love by sharing this video!
