This week’s Torah Portion: Bo is found in Exodus 10:1—13:16. Join David as he hones in on the climax of the 10 Plagues, with the Plague of the Death of the Firstborn. Hashem instructed Moses to tell Pharaoh in Exodus 4:22-23: “My firstborn son is Israel. So I say to you, Send out My son that he may serve Me – but you have refused to send him out; behold, I shall kill your firstborn son.’” Why the emphasis on “firstborn”? Clearly the concept of “firstborn” goes deeper than meets the eye. As we will see, the concept goes back to the days of Creation and crystallizes in the revelation of Messiah Yeshua.

This week’s Torah portion is found in Exodus 6:2—9:35, where we are introduced to the first seven plagues on Egypt. Join David as he teaches about the importance of looking beyond the signs and wonders to the essence of our Creator. We must recognize the importance of the human element. Hashem revealed His awesome power and essence to the world through Moses, and the Children of Israel looked to Moses as their leader and guide. In much the same way today, we must look to Messiah Yeshua as our leader and guide, as he was and is the ultimate human agent and conduit for Hashem’s Presence in this world.

This week’s Torah portion: Parashat Vayechi is found in Genesis 47:28—50:26. In this last parashah of the Book of Genesis, we read as Jacob “blesses” his twelve sons. Yet, as we read through the “blessings”, you begin to notice that these blessings don’t come across as what we would consider “blessings”. Also, Jacob spoke of the “End of Days”, yet we find no details to this end. Join David as he investigates Jacob’s blessings and what he meant by the “End of Days”.

This week, we open a new book: the Book of Exodus, to the first parashah: Parashat Shemot as found in Exodus 1:1—6:1. Join David as he dives into the life of Moses, the man Hashem chose to redeem His people out of exile in Egypt. Just as Moses was the first redeemer and saviour for Israel out of a very “physical” bondage, Messiah Yeshua came 1,500 years later to redeem the nation and ultimately the rest of the world from a very “spiritual” bondage. Through their examples, we learn what it means to be “vessels of truth”.

This week's parashah: Parashat Vayigash is from Genesis 44:18—47:27. Join David as he discusses the importance of unity amongst the 12 sons of Jacob in becoming the Nation of Israel, and the subsequent importance of this same unification for us today through Messiah Yeshua – whether within Israel or throughout the rest of the world.

This week’s Torah portion: Parashat Mikeitz is from Genesis 41:1–44:17. Join David as he evaluates the significance of the term “mikeitz” (“at the end”) in relation to the 13 years of Joseph’s slavery in Egypt and his subsequent rise to prominence. It was Joseph’s preparations and righteous qualities that stood out throughout his times of suffering that qualified him as the “original” suffering servant, that we ultimately recognize as fully manifested in the life of Yeshua.

This week’s Torah portion: Parashat Vayeishev is found in Genesis 37:1—40:23. Join David as he investigates a “side story” about Judah and Tamar, and how this story ultimately connects to the Light of Messiah.
