Back at it again with ye 'ol Oregon Trail, this time we're exploring the second generation of this game! This Oregon Trail was reprogramed from the ground up! Different from the 1980's version it now introduced more color and many of the iconic features that people now associate with the game – such as crossing rivers, stopping at landmarks, naming your party members, contracting diseases, carrying meat back to the wagon, choosing a profession, carrying spare parts, seeing daily weather updates, talking to people along the way, having members of your party die, erecting tombstones, earning points based on your performance, and adding more chart toping hits from the 1700's! Such as Yankee Doodle Dandy! Fun Fact! This was the first version to be driven by a complex set of interlocking mathematical simulation models – the models for weather, health, and river conditions. #DateKnights #oregontrail #retrogaming

Like The Game of Nomad, where we help Grandma Nomad move from town to town, challenging our elementary mapping skills! The Game Voyageur is here too, where our math skills and role-playing skills come in handy. As we play a simulation of what fur trading was like in the early 18th century!

Join us on another date, this time we're going on the open road!! So grab your snacks and a drink as we settle in for a loooong drive. We're playing ye ol' Oregon Trail, the 1980's version! The 1980 version is very similar to the original 1975 text only game that people used to play on teletype machines in the 1970s. The new features that were added to the 1980 version that differ from the OG is that the hunting now included graphics, and they added a simple map to show your progress across the Americas!
