Killers of the Flower Moon - Modern Humanity Vs Blatant Bigotry
I wouldn’t say Martin Scorsese was a favorite director of mine but he is one of the last great directors in the history of cinema and probably one of the only directors who can bring such a story as this to light in these trying times right before the time of year in which many are still distraught over given the history of our country.
And now in his early 80s, this very much could be his last film.
The story follows a family of the Osage Indian people who are befriended by people thought to be loved ones, friends and great business allies. In the end, you can say that not every white man was out for blood and the Osage Inheritance. Many fell victim to the times while others coexisted and just tried to live their lives in peace. But still many of the Osage people suffered greatly.

When Evil Lurks - A Foreign Horror Gem
Shudder’s first Spanish-Only Original film ‘When Evil Lurks’ was a fantastic horror film. It brought back the fear and obscurity in dealing with possessions and curses. With a very simple yet ominous plot this movie had me fully invested and wanting to know more about the odd world it created and destroyed.
Congrats to director Demián Rugna
“Make Possessions Haunting Again” should be another added slogan for 2024.

Five Nights At Freddy’s - Should of been Rated R
The FNAF movie needed more gore…less unimaginable dreaming. For being in esse a mix between Willy’s Wonderland and Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep it was good but it could have been really great.
It could have been more like the video games. They didn’t really showcase Freddy so much as just having the animatronic suits in action. They’re supposedly making a trilogy so let’s hope the next one goes a bit more off the rails.

So I Finally Watched SKINAMARINK
And it was everything and nothing I expected from seeing its retro ominous trailer. A terrifying tale of isolation, despair and the supernatural.
For being such a low budgeted horror feature, from a first time director, with a paper thin plot, it was able to cause me to a great deal of unease for the characters. I can’t say this film will be for everyone but everyone can relate to the fear the children in the movie face. Or is it simply all happening within a child’s bad dream.
Overall I did like the movie.
Anyway HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃

No One Will Save You (2023)- Hulu’s Bleak Alien Home Invasion
I loves Aliens and given that the truth is now in fact really out there it would seem we are very much due for some fresh extra terrestrial flicks and Hulu delivered with ‘No One Will Save You’.
It was an interesting tale of invasions, abduction and oddly enough depression. Maybe it should of focused more on the terrestrial 👽 than all that silent extra.

The Exorcist: Believer - Better Than Expected
Happy Friday the 13th! Here’s my review of The Exorcist: Believer. I actually enjoyed the rebooted sequel of a remake even though I called out the plot after seeing the trailer.
Having 2 families; one white, one of color, one will be skeptical, the other believers. But God wouldn’t be believed at its core. It’s almost like the title was meant to be a play on words, Believe-Her not in Him. I mean the story was just as black and white as the cast but the 2 female leads did in fact a phenomenal job with their takes on possessions.

The Creator - Imagine A.I., But In IMAX
The Creator was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I did enjoy it, the blending of original and rehashed sci-if concepts by director and sci-if lover Gareth Edward. But I think at the films core there shows a radical reality we slowly may be moving towards. I mean 2070 isn’t that far off.

So…Is The WGA/SAG-AFTRA Strike Over?
I made this video a few weeks ago but due to the writers and actors strike reaching the boundaries of YouTube and Video Games I completely forgot about it and almost decided not to upload it. But now that the writers and actors strike seem to finally be over I figured I’d just go ahead and release it.
- - -
Conclusion: All these writers got to hang out with actors they probably never will be able to write for. Actors wanted to be seen helping those in need due to their failures to create good and entertaining new media.
- - -
PS. Even if AI were set to write scripts and replace actors, they would still have to consent to at least being copied by said AI. The writers would have a tougher time but they wouldn’t just steal an actors face without them allowing it and I’m sure negotiations could still go a long way in the moment.

Netflix One Piece Live Action Is Mid, At Best Unnecessary
In todays age of bingeing & streaming it was never a question if whether a live action adaptation of One Piece could work but more if it was even truly necessary. Reboots, remakes, and now live adaptations are staples of American cinema and it’s getting old. Some things should just stay animated and these up and coming directors need to stop piggybacking off of others success.
But…with that said, the show was ok. For me though, it was missing one key element: Heart.
(Then if Brook joins in season 2 we’ll then see just how much soul this show holds)

Blue Beetle - Better Late Than Never
But turns out his family was more alien than the Blue Beetle tech 😆 This film should of came our years ago. Easily rivaling that failed Green Lantern movie and maybe even helping with starting the DCEU more early on. If anything you should just go watch ‘Young Justice’ to see this character at his full non-racial potential.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter - Should’ve Cast Johnny Depp
There were 3 things in this movie that got me. Most were bad, one was good. Overall I would suggest this movie. It was fun and enjoyable and easily a wanna be pirates movie. Would have been cool if pirates had tried to attack the ship. Idk. I think people would enjoy it.
Especially if their into vampires

Sympathy For The Devil - A Killer Uber Ride
Nicolas Cage and Joel Kinnaman are fantastic in this new quick runaway thriller. I only wish they dived deeper into their characters pasts. It was definitely an awesome concept but it was a smart choice for it to go straight to streaming.

They Cloned Tyrone - Netflix Movie Review
A drug dealer, a pimp, and a hoe walk into an underground laboratory experimenting on black people and find themselves.
Plot twist: this film wasn’t directed by Jordan Peele and it stars an actor I had little to no care for, John Boyega.
This was ultimately a damn fun movie, but its ending could of been better

Oppenheimer - An Explosive Historical Drama
Christopher Nolan, alongside an interstellar cast, once again delivers a fantastic and new aged memento with Oppenheimer. The story of the Father of the Atomic Bomb, completely shot in IMAX and the first ever IMAX film to also be shot in black and white. Not to mention the movies score was fantastic and all over the place 💯
Barbenheimer may have been one of the most explosively split cinematic events ever to hit cinemas but Oppenheimer was by far the better feature.

Barbie - It’s Not What You Think…But It Is
I’m not sure which was more of a crime: Ken losing Barbie to a gynecologist in “the real world” or not having Aqua’s Barbie Song anywhere in this movie. I was just expecting a different movie but I forget the film Industry is pretty saturated in those inclusive, toxic, rqce focused and feminist ideology based Identity politics.
Come on Barbie, let’s go fight the patriarchy 😆
…or not and we can just party all day everyday.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1 is Impressive and Outrageous
Tom Cruise should do a TedTalk on how to keep a franchise alive.
The newest installment of the Mission Impossible franchise kicked off with a very reality based bang. Ethan Hunt and his team must stop a dangerous AI program from taking over the world. They should of had James Cameron help them write out this script to include some hive mind terminating machines.

Sound Of Freedom - How Is This Film Controversial?!
It’s disheartening how much backlash this film is getting. I mean it’s a true story about a man who recused trafficked children. Yet the media is turning it into something else entirely. It’s insane.
Sound of Freedom is a very heartwarming and powerful film about the reality and dangers of child trafficking. It’s probably the only movie to ever be so direct at it’s message yet the media still is actively trying to discredit and shame this film into being some adjacent QAnon conspiracy project.
(Just wanted to add that the wife was probably my 2nd favorite character in the movie next to the ex-drug cartel boss turned child savior)

Asteroid City - Wes Anderson’s Best?
Wes Anderson continues to be one of the most creative and innovative directors of our time.
And his new film “Asteroid City” just further proved my opinion. I honestly wasn’t expecting the film to go the way it did and enjoyed every minute of it. Can’t wait to see what he does next.

Netflix Live-Action One Piece? And new ‘Star Wars: Rey’ Plot Details
Happy 4th of July
Netflix is at it again with the Live-Action adaptation of ONE PIECE! Did they not learn from the disastrously reimagined Cowboy Bebop? It just looks like some low-budget cosplay meetup.
Meanwhile, plot details have surfaced about Rey Palpatine’s new Star Wars movie and it sounds about as ridiculous and as her last time on screen but with an extra added dose of Mary Sue.

The Flash - A Decade Too Late
After a decade of being in production The Flash is finally out. And I gotta say, it was ok. Honestly my favorite part was all the multiverses colliding and showing Nicolas Cage’s phantom Superman cameo.
Can you imagine if they just made an Animated Netflix film with that Superman. Have it end with that outrageous Spider battle. Let’s make it happen!!
Also this film should of just been called
‘The Bat & Flash’
Maybe ‘Flash & The Bat’

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel - Fabulous Show(Poor Finale)
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was a favorite show of mine for almost 4 years and it’s finally over. But honestly for me, the finale wasn’t as good as it could have been. Since it’s a show about a 1950’s female comedian I felt I should of ended dare I say…funnier. Still it was a fantastic show.
Apparently the creator also made ‘Gilmore Girls’ which I hear also suffered from a similar ending.

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts - Needs More Beasts
Considering the animated show Transformers: Beast Wars featured well over 10+ different Maximals and Predacons (Including a velociraptor and an arachnid) it was a shame they only featured 4!! Instead we got a new diverse cast of Human characters and a giant angry space Unicorn. Guess we’ll just have to wait for the sequel.
At least it was entertaining.

Bert Kreischer’s The Machine - Hilarious, Fearless, and Shirtless
The unabashed comic powerhouse that is Bret Kreischer made a movie based on his hilarious(but true) stand-up bit about his college years. Specifically going on a class trip to Russia, partyin with Russian gangsters and robbing his college classmates during a train ride. I mean the film ‘Van Wilder’ apparently was loosely based on the man. But it just makes me wonder how this guy hasn’t been asked to join Saturday Night Live. He deserves some sort of sketch comedy showcase. Hey may have podcasts and his stand up gigs but this guy could definitely help out the dying industry of funny films.

Evil Dead Rise - I Didn’t Hate It
It just could of been better. It was a good little horror film but whatever separates Evil Dead from being your basic possession film was definitely missing from this movie. The first reboot from 2013 might now actually be better. But nothing will top the Ash vs. the Evil Dead tv show.
Groovy.
