Buck Almost Gets In My Stand! (Public Land Hunting In Early Bow Season!)
1-Shot Hunting 2023- Episode 2. Buck almost gets in my stand! Hunting early bow season. This video has whitetail deer hunts on public and private land. Bowhunting season is on, and hunters all over the US are in the woods in search of a big buck. And in the early season hunting small might be the strategy that you need. Food is plentiful and a buck doesn't have to go far to get the groceries. Find the best sign that's close to bedding areas and locate an ambush site for your stand. Try and zero in on a smaller piece of real estate to hunt, versus hunting a much larger area. Bowhunters have a very small window to shoot, depending on the foliage, usually 30 yards or less. Try and get accustomed to not seeing a long distance, and be content with thick areas. which typically can hold a big buck! A buck gets within 10 yards of the stand! The 2023 deer hunting season is here!

Heavy Mast Crop? Now What? #shooting #bucks #deerhunting #bowhunting #acorns #biology #food #archery
What's the mast crop like in your area? Light, medium, or is it a heavy mast crop this year? While scouting I found an abundance of red and chestnut oak acorns! This is good and bad. It means that bucks will have plenty of acorns to eat in preparation for the rut. But when there are a lot of trees producing, it makes it difficult to determine which ones that the bucks are using. Here's a tip, when you scout find the oak trees that have the most tracks and droppings around. If bucks and does are feeding there you will find the area with deer droppings. Also, when bucks start rubbing trees, you may find rub sign near the trees that they are eating the acorns off of. If you don't have time to hit the woods and scout, call your state deer biologist and ask them. Typically a mast crop survey is conducted every year. Take this information and use it to your advantage! And, good luck in getting your buck!
