Every type of 180 skate challenge
Set out to do all 8 types of basic 180’s
If you are unfamiliar, skateboarding has 4 main modes of “popping”
These 4 types are categorized by the combination of 2 directions of movement and the 2 feet
So you can be moving forwards on your skateboard, or backwards. What is forward or backwards depends on your “stance”. For some reason the stances are called “GOOFY” and “REGULAR”.
A “REGULAR” stance person moves ford with their LEFT foot at the front of the board.
A “GOOFY” stance person will move forward with their RIGHT foot at the front of the board.
Most people will have a natural preference to one or the other.
For the feet, the majority of skateboarders will have a dominant popping foot, determined by their above stance. It will most likely become the foot at the back of the board in their preferred stance.
A REGULAR stance person will most likely have their RIGHT foot (back of the board) as the dominant popping foot.
A GOOFY stance person will most likely have their LEFT foot (back of the board) as the dominant popping foot.
The other foot, we can call the non-dominant popping foot (Which it can actually be your dominant foot in other sports). This foot will generally be less coordinated and weaker at popping than the other foot. Similar to doing any sport with your opposite hand you normally do.
So those 2 stances, and 2 feet give 4 types of combinations. In skateboarding we call them.. well. -Blank / normal
-Nollie
-Fakie
-Switch
I say “blank / normal” for a few reasons. When somebody does a trick and DOES NOT say (Nollie, Fakie, or Switch) it is implied that the trick is done off your dominant foot going forwards.
So the breakdown is this
Each stance and their direction of movement and foot that you pop off of
- NORMAL = forwards, dominant foot pop
- NOLLIE = forwards, non-dominant foot pop
- FAKIE = backwards, dominant foot pop
- SWITCH = backwards, non-dominant foot pop
Hope you found this information useful and enjoyed the video

Battle for a frontside heelflip
So I asked my friend what trick to try. He answered “frontside 180 heelflip on the bank”. So I set out on this mission, and it sure was a challenge.
To those unfamiliar, a frontside 180 heeflip is the combination of a frontside 180 and a heelflip
