Jesus' fame had spread early and wide. His early miracles had made him famous and highly followed after, except in Nazareth. They thought they had found their genie in a bottle and when He did not respond to their every desire with a miracle, they despised and ran Him out of town.

If Jesus' Baptism was to be our example, then His trials in the wilderness were for identification. He identified with our temptations, overcame our sin and defeated Satan.

Before God does significant things, He sends His messengers before Him to prepare the people. After 500 years of God being silent, He ordained a man named John to usher in the times of refreshing, and introduce the coming of the Savior.

Our church was blessed recently with a visit from several folks from one of our sister churches. Bayou De Chein CP in Water Valley. Brother Dwayne Crass stepped in and lead our music and Ken and Judy Wray for the group Better Way sang for us. It was a wonderful time. I trust you will be blessed by it.

Remember your past, but don't live there. Learn from your past, but move forward. This is Paul's advice for us today. Far to many people are dying, and killing their future because of unfinished business in the past.

Our church recently lost a good friend in Mickey Beck. I recently came across this song that is perfect for the Easter season. Mickey had a great impact on Me, and my love of Gospel Music, along with mentors Jody and Frances Fortner both of which are gone on to be with the Lord. One benefit of the celebrating the resurrection of our Lord, is knowing that We also will rise, to see them again one day. This is a tribute to some wonderful singers gone on and a celebration of our risen Lord, by witch we are saved. Here is Mickey Beck singing "Calvary's The Reason Why" and yours truly singing one of Frances and Jody's most popular songs, " Gone". This weekend we celebrate His death on Calvary, and that it was not the end, but the beginning. The angel asked the question, " Why do you seek the living among the dead, He is not Here, He is risen..." Luke 24:5-6 I pray that this will bless you at this special time.
